There are many supernatural beings that congregate in groups for survival or protection or just for companionship, not unlike humans. Witches have covens. Vampires have nests. But none of those have connections that can compare to the bond of a werewolf pack.

You should know. You're part of one, either born a werewolf or turned. For humans, blood is thicker than water; for wolves, the pack is to the bone. Of course, with humans, romantic relationships can complicate closeness of other sorts. That's not the case with werewolf pairings, as they tend to grow out of natural pack dynamics and are viewed as just another facet of life. The only difference is that werewolves tend to treat relationships, even potential would-be-mates, with extreme seriousness.

After all, you'll fight for your pack, so you'll fight for your mate, won't you?

the MATES FOR LIFE meme

The one conceit of this meme: humans (or human-expies, whatever beings they may be) mate for life. With this comes the typical trappings of "mating for life" - indescribable closeness, contentment around your "destined," and, of course, in your all-too-familiar worst case, jealousy and rage should the bond be threatened.

Oh, and there's also the little caveat that, should your mate die, you die as well. But that's not too much to swallow, is it? The whole thing is only a small conceit, you know.

📺 TRAPPED IN A SITCOM 📺
Have you ever wished for the perfect life just like those old shows on TV? Where everything works out by the time the credits roll? Where everyone is nice? A life with a cute house and a white picket fence? Like something right out of a 1950s sitcom? How do you fit in to this world? Do you have powers or abilities you have to hide because they just don't fit in with a sitcom? Do you have to change your habits? Or do you keep these things a secret?

But as perfect as it all there are hints that something isn't right. Cracks in the perfect façade begin to show. Maybe you see things that remind you of the life you used to have. Or you hear a voice calling for you. Something just doesn't feel right the more you think about it. Do you decide to fight back or stay in this so good it's actually creepy world? Because no matter what you do things begin to change, your overly sweet nosy next-door neighbour may be prone to super-powered acts of violence. The old man down the street who's always looking after his flowerbeds may have a garden full of dead bodies and plans on killing you next. The more you fight the more the world and everyone in it starts to turn on you.

Whatever is keeping you here wants you to stay - dead or alive.

Though it remains a beloved fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast itself has perhaps become a tired trope. Its inspiration is far-reaching and you can find stories based on it in many corners of the fictional world. Though these tales vary, one facet is almost always the same: the beastly character always falls in love with the beauty, and the beauty has to learn about the beast's innermost good qualities. And why not? Could the beauty ever fall for the beast on looks alone? They're a beast!

...but what if the beauty fell in love with the beast because of the way they looked? What if the beauty was the one who had to worry about if they were good enough, or if they weren't the right type? And, most importantly, what if the beauty didn't want the beast to ever change?

HOW TO PLAY

Swooning: They're so beautiful! How unique, and you've grown so tired of the same old, same old.
Who is the Beauty: What if you are hardly beautiful in their eyes? If they're a different species, they might have an entirely different standard, or they may just think you're too normal.
Not What They Like: The above, realized. Sorry, they just can't be attracted to someone like you. You're actually the beastie in their eyes.
Confession: They may not be used to having affection directed towards them, so this may be a new experience for both of you.
Fluff: Kissing, hugging, dates, taking them out, touching them, mending wounds, personal hygiene help, and all of that.
Smut: The obligatory smut option, and any problems, inconveniences, or drama or lack thereof that come with it.
Rejection: Actually, they could never love you like that, so you're in for a heart break.
Defense from the Mob: You'll stand up for your beloved beast, in contrast to them going berserk should outsiders disapprove.
...I Liked You Better Before: Somehow, some way, the beastly half of the couple has changed and become more conventionally attractive, as is wont to happen in these sort of stories. Only problem? You aren't attracted to them now.

THE FALSE PRETENSES MEME

It's only a natural response to want to be shown love and affection, no matter how hard your exterior is. If not in those words - if you truly are that cold - perhaps what you seek is adoration or worship. Regardless of how you slice it, there's something invigorating to the ego in being the object of someone's ardor. And that's what you are now, to put it mildly; the way they look at you, you'd think you hung the moon and stars. In fact, their love for you has lead to a relationship with them. Congratulations! It's all going so well.

Except that it's all based on a lie.

You're not the person they think you are...maybe even literally. They could think you're someone else completely, as such, or it could be more abstract. They don't know what you've really done, do they? The crimes you've committed, the blood on your hands - what if blood they cherished? It's doubtful if they knew what you truly were, they'd look at you with such tenderness. That's not something you can deal with. You've grown used to them and don't want to let them go. Not now.

You love them. They've wormed their way into your heart, and you just can't lose them. You just...can't. Despite what your intentions were at the beginning (you were being purposefully cruel, you were playing along, you didn't want to hurt them, you wanted to give them what they wanted), you've bought into your own hype. Whatever you have to do to keep this ruse up, you'll do.

But, of course, what's done in the dark will be brought to the light. Soon, those eyes that look towards you will be filled with pain and doubt; you can't keep your little secret forever, and it will only gut your lover in the end.

the ACCIDENTAL EXTRADIMENSIONAL TOURIST meme

Have you ever wanted to travel to another planet? Another REALITY? Even if this is something that has never crossed your mind, It's about to happen. For reals. A giant wormhole has opened up beneath you and dropped you elsewhere. You have no choice in what world you're heading to, or even where you'll be landing. Luckily (or unluckily) you'll be dropped near to a resident of the world who will have no choice but to play your tour guide and help you get to know your new home.

How it works

1. Post with your character. In the body include a little bit about where your character is, or what they are currently doing. You can write as little, or as much as you want! Just a simple sentence saying something like [John Doe is sitting in his office at the paper company goofing off and playing call of duty while his boss isn't looking.] is fine, or you could go into more detail and write a paragraph or two describing a key place in your world's canon to really set the scene for incoming tourists. Try not leave your initial comment blank. This meme will probably work best if you set up a scene or leave a couple ideas, no matter how short.

2. Find someone else who's world you are invading and post dropping in on them. Maybe you just opened a door and found yourself there, maybe you fell into a worm hole. Either way you are not where you were a moment ago. optional: The wormhole might have handily provided you with the means to blend in to your new environment. If you find yourself hopping out into a school, you might be wearing an appropriate uniform, if you happen to fall out into a swords and sorcery type world you might find yourself sporting plate armor or wizard robes, and if you find yourself on an alien planet... well you might look just like the aliens who live there.

3. Remember that with this sort of meme it's probably best to tag outside of canonmates. But, either way, have fun and try not to kill the tourists!
