2. ACTIVELY LOOKING - you are lonely, you want to give a gift/surprise someone.
3. ACTIVELY LOOKING PLUS ONE - you have someone else with you, be they child or someone else, and you have to wrangle them plus look at a creature.
4. EMPLOYEE - help someone find the cuddliest cuddler to ever cuddle?

1. DOG. - four legs, goes woof
2. CAT - four legs, goes meow and purr
3. LIZARD/TURTLE - four legs, scaly, possibly superhero/city destroyer?
4. SNAKE - no legs. Slightly creepy also slightly cute.
5. FUR - four legs - mostly. Slightly obscure, good for kids who aren't ready for cat-dog level responsibility. Includes Hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, rats, ferrets, rabbits.
6. FISH -No legs. Swims. Kind of creepy.
7. DRAGON - ...It's a multiversal pet store on the internet ok
8. UNICORN - ^ basically that.

10. MAKE UP WHAT YOU WANT. Get whatever you want it's a big pet store.

The bell rings at the store, and in comes a peculiar looking young man. He's a little flustered, looking left and right, bouncing up shelves to look over into other aisles before finally sprinting to the back of the store.

"Sensei!!"

No, Minoru is not talking to the owner, or any other human, for that matter. That comment was directed right at the giant snake held behind the glass!

[Sometimes he just likes to come in here and look. Playing and petting them... just, you know, spreading a little excitement and energy amongst the animals. It's totally for their sake. Yup. Animals. He loves to help them. All the time.]

[Jack will swear up and down all day that he would rather just build a dog, because robot dogs are easier to take care of and don't make messes and can be turned off when you don't want to mess with it, but he can't help but stare at the adorable batch of puppies in the store today and feel his heart melt.

A little black lab jumps up and paws at his leg, and he fights a smile, because he is not going to coo at this dog he is a former evil villain-]

...Hi puppy!! [Welp] Hajime, look!

[Hajime leans down to look at the eager little pup, hopping and pawing at Jack's pantleg.]

Look at that, he picked you! Maybe he'll bring you home.

[He's joking. He's totally joking. Yes. Here, little guy, let him ruffle your floppy big ears ohno you're so cute]

[Jack gives in, crouching down to pet the puppy (who is going nuts from the double attention), grinning ear to ear.]

[He trails off, looking sideways at Hajime.] You said you just wanted to look, you know.

Well, sure. You know. It's, ah. Just fun to look.

[He doesn't look back over. He puppy keeps nipping at his sleeve, yipping, going generally bonkers with excitement.]

I mean, I'd be a lousy pet owner, anyway. So. Just nice to drop in.

[If you want a dog you could just say so, Hajime...

Maybe it's just pointless enabling, but Jack's smile returns and he shrugs.]

I don't know. I think you would be a good owner.

[Same goes to you, Jack.]

Mm. I'm busy, after all, I wouldn't want to leave this guy all alone...

[The pooch squirms under his hand, licking and nipping. Yes, it definitely doesn't want to be alone.]

[Jack watches the puppy, reaches down to rub its back and smiling when it twists to nudge his hand with his nose.]

Well, I'm home a lot when you're not... so he wouldn't be alone that much.

[Now Hajime's the one sending sidelong glances. Is Jack actually encouraging this? He is. He's actually serious. Hajime feels a little shaky, with nerves and excitement, at the thought.]

Well. Sure. But you couldn't leave your tools where he could get them. And he'd need a good name.

[Besides having a lot of pets for sale, these kinds of stores also tend to carry food for people who already have one. Hayato's only in to pick up a bag of top notch dog food (probably Blue Buffalo or something, of course it would be), but... hey, he has a few minutes to spare. There's nothing wrong with taking a look at all the cute little animals up for adoption. Nothing wrong with entertaining the thought of bringing one home, even if he can't act on those fantasies.

Fuzzy little hamsters, fluffy kittens, adorable puppies... --Oh. And the Yuuhi pup among them. Look at that kid, practically dangling right into their little pen.]

Scouting out new recruits, are we?

[It could be a jab. Or maybe he thinks that a dog is just as much a member of a squad as anybody else.

(It is 95% the latter.)]

[It must be commended of the playful little critters, that they could draw Hajime's attention so greatly that he hadn't even noticed the presence of the rival leader. That's the power of friendly furry animals. He starts at Saionji's voice, and can't quite manage to switch from his "yay happy animal friends" face to his "shut up Asahi" face quickly enough before he turns around.]

W-well! Well, one's got to try and spread encouragement to as many beings as possible, you know.

[Errg. It's weird facing off against him out of uniform. Like visiting school on Sunday.]

[Maybe it's the lack of formal uniforms, or maybe it's just a lack of that damned Ippongi, but Hayato can't muster up more than an ever-present but quiet feeling of smug superiority over the kid. This isn't Ouendan business; there's no point in fanning the flames of rivalry here. Besides, who can get worked up in the presence of so many adorable little friends?

[Damn right he's got the nerve to give advice to someone who's technically been doing this longer than he has. If there's a touch of condescension and passive-aggression in there, it definitely has nothing to do with a poor history of inter-team relations and some of that aforementioned elitism. Nope. Not at all.]

The interpretation and synchronization with the spirits of animals is a skill only a truly practiced and dedicated Ouendan can master.
