| The world can sometimes seem like a cold, wicked place, and more than likely, it actually is a cruel place. For days, months, years on end, you never catch a break, everything falling to pieces as soon as you pick it up. Maybe, despite this, you still try your hardest. There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel, doesn't there? The fates don't play favorites, so surely your number is about to come up. Or maybe you've given up and decided to allow yourself to barely float along with only bouts of anger or bitterness to keep you above water. There is no light anywhere, is there? But there is. There's one bright spot in your life - a person who makes everything worthwhile. It doesn't really matter how they came to you. What does is that they stay. Whether you admit it or not, you seek comfort from them...and, perhaps, them from you, if you're in the same situation. So, whether you push them away, treat them right, or go so far as to worship them and put them on a pedestal, you don't want them to go now. You crave being with them, or at least being in their presence. Don't ruin this for yourself. After all, what would you do without your little ray of light? You'll do anything to keep them happy and loved. Anything.

| You are one bad guy (or gal) and everyone knows it. Whether that definition is literal - you're evil and straight up bad - or more of the metaphorical badass, devil may care type is splitting hairs. Perhaps you're even known for bad habits: womanizing, unfriendliness, greed, bad attitude, snarkiness, nonchalance, reckless behavior, stoicism, illegal acts...mild sociopathy. You know, little things. No matter what the case may be, you have a reputation that makes just about every person who knows of you think you're always less than perfectly agreeable. The key here is just about every person. There is one who knows the you that isn't always in on mode, one who can get past that rough exterior without getting destroyed by the natural disaster that is you. And they can do more than get past your defenses; actually, when you're around them, you're over the moon. Like a big, gentle lap dog, you can't get over your affection for them, though with anyone else, and to protect that one special person, you're a raging wolf. Maybe you don't want to admit it, but them's the facts. Of course, you would never show this in public - - in private, though? You're tamed, like it or not. Now, since you're more or less behind closed doors, you'll show them how good (or bad) you can be. Because no one else can compare. Because no one else could tame you. Will they understand and treat you with kindness and love? Will they tease you? Banish the thought that they would ever, ever use your feelings and difference in their presence to their advantage.

They showed you kindness, perhaps in a way you'd never seen before, perhaps in a way you can never repay. But you're trying; in exchange, you're offering your loyalty, for how much or how little that's worth. For them, you'd do anything: you'd fight, you'd protect, you'd be their right hand or their biggest advocate, if they needed it and you can offer it. As long as you get to stay by their side, it doesn't matter. So, you certainly don't have to worry about your bond surpassing what you have now or becoming romantic, do you? That will just get in your way of being there for them. Since you've only got their best interest at heart, it won't bother you if someone else were to pursue them... ...right? As long as you get to stay by their side. As long as you get to fight for them. As long as they need you.

 The Shouldn't Consummate Meme For all intents and purposes, the two of you are already together. Okay, at the very least, there's a spark, and it's been noticed. At the very most, perhaps there's been a love confession. Whatever it may be between you, love or lust, you've, oddly enough, not made the one plunge: you've yet to sleep together. Why not? It's complicated. It always is. There's something that keeps you from making that full commitment to intimacy, and whether that comes from physical or mental blocks doesn't make too much difference. Tonight, though, you've decided to put all of it behind it. You're going to consummate your relationship, no matter what guilt or complication you may be left with. This will work. It's worth it, at any rate.
