The Bring Your Own Kink (or Scenario or Prompt) Meme

Everyone has a favorite kink or scene or prompt they love to play out - and even if you don't, there has to be something you've always wanted to try, right? A kink? A premise? A prompt? While memes these days are doing great at covering fetishes and coming up with great premises, you can't expect them to cover everything anyone could ever want. There are just too many unique ideas out there!

This meme tries to solve that problem by being a catch-all and hinging on a very simple premise: bring what YOU want to play and focus on that! It puts the power of choosing the direction of threads entirely in your hands. Find other people who will be totally down with playing what you want to play, and let them know just what you're interested in. Simple, right? It's just like a BYOB barbecue, only a lot sexier.

How To Play:
- Comment with your character. DON'T LEAVE YOUR COMMENT BLANK. Instead, copy and paste the information below and fill it out to suit your needs. Or use your own ideas.

- Be as specific or as vague as you want. There’s no real push to your actions; you do them as if they were second nature. Perhaps, initially, you were assigned this role, as protector and guardian of this person. Maybe you took it on because there was no one else. A natural guardian or not, good or evil, you caught a shining to them and felt…something. Something hard to explain, but you want to keep them safe and happy - or at the very least, content. No one is as dedicated to them as you. You want them to reach their goals; to help them achieve them, you'll do what you must, even if it means being their gofer or their right hand.

But most of all, you don't want them to end up like you. They're worth more than that.

Yet somehow, along the line, you became more to them, more than just their protector. You protect them anew and you've found a different way to make them happy. It's selfish, too, because you love them in your way and you want them more than anything. You may feel guilty, of course. They don't, though, and that's what matters.

Right now, you two have a rare moment to yourselves. There are special matters to attend to. Continue to do your duty.

Remember, you don't have to be so rigid. A traditionally weak character can "protect" a traditionally strong one in emotional ways.

The Nonsexual Intimacy Meme

Intimacy is NOT necessarily about full sexual contact. Intimacy is all about two people forming a connection and bond between them. That involves becoming best friends, trusting each other, knowing each other, understanding each other. Intimacy is grown and developed, it can't be rushed.

Nonsexual forms of intimacy can add a great deal of depth and variety to fiction. On one end of the spectrum, they provide extra steps to support the journey from meeting a potential mate through romance, sex, and marriage. In the middle, they convey the import of family and professional connections, distinguishing those from more casual acquaintances. On the other end, they form much of the glue in primary relationships for people who don't base their ties on sexuality. Sex is valuable, but it's not everything.
