Looks like the weather forecast was right; it's absolutely pouring! And most people are complaining about the sudden downpour.

But forget those negative nellies! Just post a comment with your series name and character name as usual, as well as any other notes you wish to add, then pick a prompt using the RNG and get started!
 

1. OMG RAIN!!!

Rain is just the BEST THING EVER, RIGHT?! Well, that's what you think and you're determined to have a good time. Either going for a walk or splashing through puddles or even just sitting around and getting wet, you're going to milk every second of this rain and drag your friends along for the ride.

2. FUCK YOU, RAIN.

Oh god, it's raining. This just completely ruins your day. Maybe you were planning to go shopping but the roads are still flooded up, or because the school closed thanks to the storm, you need to hire a last minute babysitter for your kids. Whatever the reason for it, you're not pleased about this rain and you don't care what anyone else thinks.

3. RAIN SIEGE

Oh lord, it looks like you're stuck inside. It's raining too hard for you to even think of leaving! Will you make a daring escape in a ridiculous raincoat or will you just give up and watch TV? But what if you run out of snacks? Or the TV reception dies?!

4. A WALK IN THE RAIN

Nothing like the sound of rain beating against your umbrella, right? You don't really care either way about the chaos and even though it's chilly, the one thing you want to do today is head out for a walk in the rain and maybe grab a hot chocolate on the way back.

I should hope so, she's my baby sister. Come on, if you love me so much, you could spare a kind word.

If you were kind, I would. I only tell the truth, Alexander. Do you want asparagus or spinach?

[ambitionist]

Neither. [he makes a sour face; whether it's because she somehow managed to hurt his feelings or because he's being a child about vegetables, we'll never know. he pulls out his phone and begins his usual routine of texting everyone on earth, as is his wont.]

[ okay, fine. neither it is. she cooks in silence, pan searing something because that cooks fast and is easy so she doesn't have to pay attention. ]

[ambitionist]

[there's a brief period of silence ... but then he speaks up again. because he's fixating.] I'm not that bad, am I? I mean, I know I'm pretty awful, but I figured I had a few redeeming qualities.

[ladymoneta]

You do. [ she doesn't get that she could have hurt his feelings. ] You're incredibly smart and driven, you destroy obstacles in your way. Your ability to get what you want is a little bit terrifying sometimes, and aggravating. [ she shrugs a little. ] You're sweet and generous, you're incredibly thoughtful. But only when you want to be, and that's hard to... accept.

[ambitionist]

Wow, look at that. Good things. It must have killed you to think of them. [and he's back to staring at his phone.]

[ladymoneta]

[ she opens her mouth to say more, but he's being... alex. so she doesn't bother. ] Set the table.

[ambitionist]

Whatever. [bitchy little comments aside, he gets up and starts setting the table.]

[ladymoneta]

[ nope, they will never not be able to fight. never ever. she finishes the chicken as he sets and when he's done she ferries the pan to the table to scoop the chicken onto the plates. with broccoli. :| and then she brings the pan back to the kitchen. she doesn't really have an appetite anymore. ]

[ambitionist]

[nope, probs not. the sounds of rain and thunder from the storm outside fill the silence between them while he's busy ... stewing.] If you want me to stop bothering you for free meals all the time, you just have to say something.

[ladymoneta]

I'd never see you otherwise. [ once the pan is setting in the sink, she takes the seat across from him. ] He likes sushi. Invite him out for sushi. [ "he" being nate. ]

[ambitionist]

He has good taste. [because guess who loves sushi. spoilers: it's this guy.] Have you really only told him awful things about me? I should know, since I'm going to have to play damage control.

You said he fancies me, right? Well, he knows I. Am fond of you. I think that's a pretty good review for you, wouldn't you say? [ she pokes at her veggies. ] You don't need to run damage control. All the bastardy, horrible bits of you are far overshadowed by the good parts.

[ambitionist]

We'll see. [and that's his (current) final word on that as he starts eating.]

[ yay more silence, but she breaks it with something not awful? ] How's Sonja?

[ bc she loves her, tbh. ]

[sonja's very lovable, ok. alex's expression even softens a little bit while he talks about her.] Effervescent? Spends most of her time working on her master's project. I think she put in the application for the internship at your dad's office. She was excited because it meant she wouldn't have to work at Starbucks anymore. [he shakes his head like bless her heart for working at starbucks.]

[ she abandons her food to text her dad. she wasn't eating much anyway. ] She actually works at a Starbucks? That's so cute.

Yeah, it's fucking precious. I saw her before coming over here, actually.

[ no it is though, stfu. that only exists in coffee shop au's okay. real people don't work in starbucks. ] Oh yeah?

[ she's a little surprised, but happy for him, that he has his baby sister back. ]

[EXCUSE U SONJA RESENTS THAT.] Yeah. I stopped by to support her attempts at making an honest living. [and, as usual, he downplays everything — today it's how nice it is to have sonja back in his life.]
