Looks like the weather forecast was right; it's absolutely pouring! And most people are complaining about the sudden downpour.

But forget those negative nellies! Just post a comment with your series name and character name as usual, as well as any other notes you wish to add, then pick a prompt using the RNG and get started!
 

1. OMG RAIN!!!

Rain is just the BEST THING EVER, RIGHT?! Well, that's what you think and you're determined to have a good time. Either going for a walk or splashing through puddles or even just sitting around and getting wet, you're going to milk every second of this rain and drag your friends along for the ride.

2. FUCK YOU, RAIN.

Oh god, it's raining. This just completely ruins your day. Maybe you were planning to go shopping but the roads are still flooded up, or because the school closed thanks to the storm, you need to hire a last minute babysitter for your kids. Whatever the reason for it, you're not pleased about this rain and you don't care what anyone else thinks.

3. RAIN SIEGE

Oh lord, it looks like you're stuck inside. It's raining too hard for you to even think of leaving! Will you make a daring escape in a ridiculous raincoat or will you just give up and watch TV? But what if you run out of snacks? Or the TV reception dies?!

4. A WALK IN THE RAIN

Nothing like the sound of rain beating against your umbrella, right? You don't really care either way about the chaos and even though it's chilly, the one thing you want to do today is head out for a walk in the rain and maybe grab a hot chocolate on the way back.

[ she opens her mouth to say more, but he's being... alex. so she doesn't bother. ] Set the table.

Whatever. [bitchy little comments aside, he gets up and starts setting the table.]

[ nope, they will never not be able to fight. never ever. she finishes the chicken as he sets and when he's done she ferries the pan to the table to scoop the chicken onto the plates. with broccoli. :| and then she brings the pan back to the kitchen. she doesn't really have an appetite anymore. ]

[nope, probs not. the sounds of rain and thunder from the storm outside fill the silence between them while he's busy ... stewing.] If you want me to stop bothering you for free meals all the time, you just have to say something.

I'd never see you otherwise. [ once the pan is setting in the sink, she takes the seat across from him. ] He likes sushi. Invite him out for sushi. [ "he" being nate. ]

He has good taste. [because guess who loves sushi. spoilers: it's this guy.] Have you really only told him awful things about me? I should know, since I'm going to have to play damage control.

You said he fancies me, right? Well, he knows I. Am fond of you. I think that's a pretty good review for you, wouldn't you say? [ she pokes at her veggies. ] You don't need to run damage control. All the bastardy, horrible bits of you are far overshadowed by the good parts.

We'll see. [and that's his (current) final word on that as he starts eating.]

[ yay more silence, but she breaks it with something not awful? ] How's Sonja?

[sonja's very lovable, ok. alex's expression even softens a little bit while he talks about her.] Effervescent? Spends most of her time working on her master's project. I think she put in the application for the internship at your dad's office. She was excited because it meant she wouldn't have to work at Starbucks anymore. [he shakes his head like bless her heart for working at starbucks.]

[ she abandons her food to text her dad. she wasn't eating much anyway. ] She actually works at a Starbucks? That's so cute.

Yeah, it's fucking precious. I saw her before coming over here, actually.

[ no it is though, stfu. that only exists in coffee shop au's okay. real people don't work in starbucks. ] Oh yeah?

[ she's a little surprised, but happy for him, that he has his baby sister back. ]

[EXCUSE U SONJA RESENTS THAT.] Yeah. I stopped by to support her attempts at making an honest living. [and, as usual, he downplays everything — today it's how nice it is to have sonja back in his life.]

I know. I'm so sweet sometimes, it's hard to believe I'm actually horrible.

Only until I don't feel like holding it anymore. [he shrugs, continuing to eat.]

[ well she's not going to take it back so she better get used to it. and change the subject again. to something he probably won't like. ha. ]

One that I expect you'll continue to dodge.

[TO HIS OWN CREDIT he doesn't dodge this time.] You're there for me, even when most people probably wouldn't be. I know that I can usually count on you for … whatever. And, of course, you're extremely attractive, and kind of amazing at sex. Probably the closest thing to a female version of myself that I'm going to find — which, I realize sounds incredibly conceited, but that shouldn't be surprising at this point.

Aww, you think I'm pretty? [ she sure is gonna focus on that, ducking her head to hide her smile. ] Dad says her application isn't the best, but if she has good references she's in. Won't tell me who she put though. It's almost as if he thinks I would compromise my ethics and work her references for her benefit. [ because, normally, she would. except for her no working kick. but her dad has thirty years of experience of his little girl being a little bit excessive with her gift. and it's how she got leah into an ivy league college for free... ]

[he looks a little disgruntled at that bc OMG HOW DARE ANYONE SAY HIS BABY SISTER ISN'T THE BEST. SHE'S AMAZING.] Well, it's probably better that way. I wouldn't want her to get into any trouble because of you.

I have never gotten anyone in trouble before, thank you, I am amazing. [ and modest. ] She's just not got enough experience, surprise, because she's so young. No one has experience at her age.
