The Moment After Meme

You've seen The Morning After, and the Build-Up, and even the Mid-Fuck memes. But what about the moment after characters have done the deed? Do they cuddle or light up a cigarette? Go for seconds or reflect on what just happened? Hop into the shower to wash away their sins? Regret everything?

Well, we'll find out, won't we?

[It takes only a few seconds of lying comfortably pressed against Tony for Loki to get fidgety, rolling away though his breathing is still uneven, his body humming with pleasure. He doesn't get up straight away but he keeps his distance, lying on his front with his arm under his head. He looks dazed and softer than the usual for a little while before his eyebrows furrow and his eyes open, watching Tony speculatively.]

That was very unwise of you. [He sounds approving, flashing Tony a grin that shows too many teeth not to be a little worrying.]

I'm not really known for my wisdom. [He reaches out and tucks one strand of Loki's hair behind his ear, but otherwise doesn't touch him. It's a bit odd to see Loki like this. After the one-upmanship that had been sex for them the quiet is almost unnerving. Tony notes to himself that Thor can never know about this, but knows better than to bring up Loki's brother in the bedroom.] That was easily the second best I've ever had. How do you even bend that way?

How true. [Loki mocks, his eyes following Tony's hand as it reaches for him but not shying away from his touch. He snorts at the question, his body a long pale line against the bed as he stretches his back, looking at Tony over his shoulder alluringly. He knows what Stark is doing and it shows on his face as he willingly falls for it.]Second best?

Considering how many people I've slept with, placing in the top ten is pretty impressive. [Tony yawns, rubbing at a bruise on his neck Loki left. It's not an unpleasant sensation. He openly stares at Loki, admiring him.] We should make this a thing. A regular thing, I mean.

[Loki smirks because however numerous Stark's conquests might have been, Lokie has him beat without the shadow of a doubt. He's got an unfair advantage though, he's been doing this for almost three thousand years.]

Well, I am a God, after all. In some of your stories, that of sexual deviancy too. [He certainly looks devious enough at the moment. He leans up on his elbow, watching Tony shrewdly.]

But what if your precious team was to find out? They'll think I've compromised you. [Note that he is not saying no.]

I didn't say it would be a common thing. But it'd be nice. Help you earn that god of sexual deviancy title. [Tony ponders the pros and cons for a moment, and adds with complete seriousness,] I'm pretty sure the Pepper finding out would be significantly worse than the team. Besides, like I said, second best time I have ever had. That's hard not to take into account.

[He scoots closer on the bed, smirking.] Are you still so scared of the team you can't bring yourself to risk a little fun? They probably won't kill you. I think.

I believe I already have. [Loki replies lazily. He doesn't look particularly eager but the mere fact that he's still there betrays his interest clearly enough. He grins when Tony calls him second best again.] But what's my incentive? [He drawls, mockingly.]

[Loki snarls at the question, his eyes instantly going cold. He moves quickly and smoothly, grabbing Tony by the throat and pinning him down on the bed, straddling his thigh.] I am not scared of your ragtag team of misfits. [He hisses, his grip on Tony's throat tightening briefly to punctuate the word before he lets go.]

[Tony exhales slowly, turning to roll closer to Loki. He looks at him with an unreadable expression. He's not quite sure how to phrase this, or if Loki will give half a damn, but it's tiring being Tony playboy billionaire philanthropist Stark all the time. Sometimes, honesty just falls out of his mouth.]

I like it when you do things like that. Reminds me I'm alive.

[Loki doesn't move away, his long hair framing his face, more ruffled than the usual. He tilts his head to the side minutely, his hand stroking up Tony's throat to tilt his chin up, watching him with appraising eyes.]

No. It reminds you I could kill you. [He leans in as if meaning to kiss Tony but bites on his jaw instead, not too hard.]

I think you just said what I said in different words, [Tony replies thoughtfully, sighing out and shivering a little at being bit. The fact he's more relaxed now than he has been all day says horrible things about him.] You know, this whole thing might not be a bad idea. Because it's a terrible idea, and we'll burn out all our recklessness together here instead of somewhere else.

And, you know, you have enough class not to freak out at the arc reactor. I could kiss you just for that.

I believe you and I both have enough recklessness to burn it here and elsewhere. [Loki counters, reasonably enough. His lips are slowly stroking up Tony's jaw, feeling the stubble there.]

Freak out? [He repeats, smirking.] Half of your appeal is the reactor.

[That's not quite true, there are many more things Loki likes about Tony Stark, but it's not a complete lie either. He grins mockingly to make the compliment as back-handed as possible though he does mean it, in a way. He raises an eyebrow at what Tony says next.]

Is that so? [He leans down to lick a slow, hot line from above Tony's navel to the dent at the base of his throat, tasting cool metal and glass as he goes over the reactor and then skin again.] How about now?

Loki, that sounds dangerously close to work. I think we both know what my feelings on doing actual work are. [Tony fights to keep his eyes open as Loki's mouth threatens to lull him into either a drowsy state or a second round. He can't decide which. Then Loki does that thing with his tongue and Tony has to clench the sheets with both hands to keep his back from arching.]

You know, [he manages, breathless, eyes glinting a little,] I'd really love to come up with a witty retort, but I forgot what the question was.

[Loki looks pleased by the obvious effect this is having on Tony, shrewdly noting that the man is in no way trying to hide it. He leans in until his nose brushes against Stark's, hovering tauntingly close.]

Would you like to kiss me now? [He says, reminding Tony of the question smugly though he knows the answer fully well. His eyes are playful but there is something dark in them too, something vast and not entirely benevolent lurking beneath his amusement.]

[Tony responds by kissing him, gently, warmly. Because Loki has made him vulnerable, by touching the reactor, by taking it in stride. He presses soft kisses to Loki's mouth, his cheeks, his forehead, sweetly.

His hand cards through Loki's hair.] You should stay here for a while. Just for the rest of the day.

[The kindness of Tony's kisses takes Loki by surprise, his eyebrows furrowing lightly. He keeps still, allowing it but keeping his eyes open as Tony's lips brush against his face softly. He has a long shiver as Tony's fingers comb through his hair and gives in to the languid warmth of his embrace.]

Evil plans don't plot themselves.

They can wait for twenty minutes or so. I'll have JARVIS make you something to eat before you go. You need to take care of yourself, Loki. [He strokes Loki's hair, finger-combing it, smiling at him.] Even gods need a break.

[Loki is staring now, as if Tony was speaking a foreign language. Taking care of himself is not in Loki's nature, the concept completely abnormal to him. He frowns in incomprehension, leaning up.] What are you doing?

[Tony shrugs, leaning down to kiss him again, with that same loving gentleness.] You really do need to rest. I promise the world will still be there if you pause for a few seconds to get a nap and dinner in. We can figure out why I'm doing this later, when I have an answer to that question.

[The more Tony is trying to get him to relax, the more Loki tenses up, the line of his shoulders going taut again, his eyes sharp. This could be a trap, he realises, a deception to get him to lower his guard. Or it could be genuine, but he has no way of knowing. Something unclear passes on his face before he sits up, leaning away.]

Don't project your own limitations on me, mortal.

[Tony furrows his brow, confused.] I'm just trying to be nice. Even if you're immortal, you're still a person. Everybody deserves to be treated right.

[Loki snorts, openly contemptuous now to hide how vulnerable that makes him feel. The people he meets, including those he chooses to bed, do not generally want to take care of him. Rather the contrary, in truth. He does not know how to react to this.]

I do not need your pity, Anthony Stark.

It's not pity. I like you. You're smart, you can improvise, you're snarky, you're you. All I want is to have you around for a bit.

[He reaches for Loki's hand, squeezing it gently.]

Then you're even more foolish than I thought. [Loki snarls in reply, unkindly. He considers Tony for a few seconds, looking down when his hand comes to rest on his. His jaw twitches and he gives in, though he's obviously not pleased about it.] Do not tell me what to do, and perhaps I'll stay.

I was just making suggestions. I don't really know what you like, Loki. We haven't exactly had long candlelit dinners to discuss things over.

[He moves to embrace him, just wrapping his arms around him lightly, loosely.] And I don't really think it's news to either of us that I'm a fool.

[Loki accepts the explanation, not leaning into Tony's touch though he puts a hand on his arm, allowing it.]

You did take me to bed after I threatened to throw you out of your own window again. [Loki agrees, something that resembles playfulness slipping in his voice again.]
