The Moment After Meme

You've seen The Morning After, and the Build-Up, and even the Mid-Fuck memes. But what about the moment after characters have done the deed? Do they cuddle or light up a cigarette? Go for seconds or reflect on what just happened? Hop into the shower to wash away their sins? Regret everything?

Well, we'll find out, won't we?

How it works:

- Post with your character, name and fandom in the subject. Include any prefs or no-no's.
- A set-up isn't necessary but hey, if you want, go for it!
- Others respond to your character.
- Congrats! They just had sex.

[Tony shrugs, leaning down to kiss him again, with that same loving gentleness.] You really do need to rest. I promise the world will still be there if you pause for a few seconds to get a nap and dinner in. We can figure out why I'm doing this later, when I have an answer to that question.

[The more Tony is trying to get him to relax, the more Loki tenses up, the line of his shoulders going taut again, his eyes sharp. This could be a trap, he realises, a deception to get him to lower his guard. Or it could be genuine, but he has no way of knowing. Something unclear passes on his face before he sits up, leaning away.]

Don't project your own limitations on me, mortal.

[Tony furrows his brow, confused.] I'm just trying to be nice. Even if you're immortal, you're still a person. Everybody deserves to be treated right.

[Loki snorts, openly contemptuous now to hide how vulnerable that makes him feel. The people he meets, including those he chooses to bed, do not generally want to take care of him. Rather the contrary, in truth. He does not know how to react to this.]

I do not need your pity, Anthony Stark.

It's not pity. I like you. You're smart, you can improvise, you're snarky, you're you. All I want is to have you around for a bit.

[He reaches for Loki's hand, squeezing it gently.]

Then you're even more foolish than I thought. [Loki snarls in reply, unkindly. He considers Tony for a few seconds, looking down when his hand comes to rest on his. His jaw twitches and he gives in, though he's obviously not pleased about it.] Do not tell me what to do, and perhaps I'll stay.

I was just making suggestions. I don't really know what you like, Loki. We haven't exactly had long candlelit dinners to discuss things over.

[He moves to embrace him, just wrapping his arms around him lightly, loosely.] And I don't really think it's news to either of us that I'm a fool.

[Loki accepts the explanation, not leaning into Tony's touch though he puts a hand on his arm, allowing it.]

You did take me to bed after I threatened to throw you out of your own window again. [Loki agrees, something that resembles playfulness slipping in his voice again.]

I've taken people to bed who've done a lot worse than that to me. At least you actually have reasons and intellect behind what you do. [Tony shrugs, not bothering to feign fear. He's died once, it didn't hurt, he's made peace with the idea of it. It's not scary anymore.]

[Loki snorts, turning his face so he can watch Tony's eyes. He looks amused now, though his eyes are still dark.]

And there I was, thinking I was special.

You are. Just not especially bad.

[Loki hums, grinning slowly.]

I have half a mind to persuade you otherwise.

You know, that'd be tricky. I played my part in multiple massacres, two genocides, and as far as having evil things done to me, I've sort of run the gambit from torture, actually dying, and rape - don't ask, it's a long and boring story - so. You're gonna have to get creative.

And also expect not to get laid afterwards.

[Loki doesn't look too impressed, tilting his head to the side with the same impish smile.] And somehow, you have gained no self-preservation instinct from this all.

[He leans in, putting his hand on Tony's knee lightly.] I believe I already have. It is rather presumptuous of you to think I would want you again.

Self-preservation dulls life. It makes you not take chances and experience everything life has to offer. It's overrated, and it's limiting.

It also keeps you alive. [Loki points out, his eyebrows raising.]

You say that as if life is worth something.

[That actually takes Loki by surprise, though he won't show it.]

Do you value a cheap thrill more than your survival, then? [He grins, not entirely benevolent.] I suppose it would explain this. [He gestures between the two of them.]

This is about me finding you attractive on an intellectual and physical level. It's about having a few moments I'm not surrounded by morons. And my thrills aren't cheap. They're usually very expensive and well crafted beforehand.

Oh, I've heard. [Loki sounds mocking though he's not actually contesting the point. He tilts his head to the side slowly, smirking.]

Of all the mortals I have met, I think I dislike you less. [Yes, that's his idea of a compliment.]

Love you too, Sunshine. [Tony kisses him on the cheek, grinning, unoffended by the comment.]

[Loki allows it with a snort, before standing up and stretching his arms.] You mentioned sustenance, I believe.

Sure. What do you want? JARVIS can cook anything. I, uh, tend to destroy kitchens when allowed into them.

You may choose. [Loki replies, offhandedly.] I am far from well-versed in Midgardian cuisine.

Then allow me to summon forth the most unhealthy food ever. I immediately had it when I came back from Afghanistan because it's the embodiment of the American way.

JARVIS, bacon cheeseburgers please!
