ANGST MEME

Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters will fall.

1. just depressed.

Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.

You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.

Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.

You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.

You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.

For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.

You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.

Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.

You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.

You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.

Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.

You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.

Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.

You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.

It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss

You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.

[ She hesitates for a moment before she turns, settling on her knees and kneeling up so she can look at him. ]

You're not planning on leaving me, are you?

[ She's lost her mother, her sister, her brother and her father. She'll never see her best friend again. She might break beyond repair if she lost Anders too. ]

[He sighs heavily and shakes his head.]

I should. You would have a much better life without me troubling you but... I don't think I can.

[She is too important to him. He hates what he's done to her but he still believes it was right.]

Thank you, Anders. I... I'm not sure I'd survive without you.

[ Honesty comes hard to her, sometimes, but at least it comes. She closes her eyes and breathes out hard, shivering a little - not from cold, but from the weight and fear she holds. ]

Ah, a few health poultices here and there and you'd be fine. You're the most capable person I know. Whatever happens you'll find a way to keep going. You're strong, Hawke, not just physically.

No, Anders. I'm serious.

[ She takes his hands, squeezing gently. ]

I don't think you understand. I need you, not for your healing. For you.

I'm going to bring you nothing but trouble. I still host Vengeance, I carry the Taint so eventually I'll have my Calling and the Chantry is out for my head on a pike. I don't understand why you still care, why you would want all the complications.

I am incredibly grateful, whatever your reasons.

You don't have to understand. You just have to deal with it.

[ Hawke grins, her typical cheeky smirk. ]

You're not getting rid of me. Not for a very long time.

[He shakes his head, but he has a very hesitant but real smile.]

Five years from now, a hundred years from now someone like me can be friends with someone like you without anyone questioning it.

If anyone questions it now I'll bash them over the head. That will teach them.

[ She's glad of his smile, however, her hands squeezing his again. ]

You'll be bashing quite a few heads.

Haven't I always? My calendar always says 'Monday, bash heads, Tuesday, bash heads, Wednesday...'

[ ... He gets the picture. ]

But Thursday were diplomatic days. Weekends, you bashed heads for fun instead of for various tasks given to you by politicians and those needing your help.

And Fridays were my drinking days, though you never seemed to turn up.

It's very difficult to get a Gray Warden drunk. Besides, my presence would've ruined the night for many of your friends.

[He's thinking of Fenris and Sebastian specifically.]

[ She rolls her eyes. ]

Then we'll just have to try one night. A drinking contest - the winner gets... Something.

Hopefully, somewhere private. I don't want to start trouble.

Do you think I'd start one somewhere where you'd find trouble?

[ Though, given their history... Standing, she offers a hand, smiling weakly. ]

We should make a camp here, at least for tonight. We can make a move tomorrow.

[He doesn't bother to answer since they both know trouble finds them wherever they go. Instead he takes her hand and gets to his feet.]

I'll start a fire. We should have enough sticks and wood to keep it burning through the night.

[ Glancing at their hands, Hawke grins quickly. ]

Would you have had me for casual sex, Anders?

[ It's more of a tease than anything; he's the last person she has. ]

Three years ago I would've leapt at the chance.

[He lets go of her hand and moves away, back to the cave entrance to stare out over the coast.]

But my feelings for you are too strong now for that. No, Hawke, I can't have you.

Don't worry. It wasn't a request.

[ She ponders what, exactly, his feelings as are she moves to stand at the mouth of the cave. She's still shorter than him, only by a little, and it's hard to resist her urge to pout. ]

As I said... Your companionship is more important to me than that.

You will always have that, Hawke. No matter what happens I will be at your side.

[He sighs softly to himself. He wishes it was a request for more but no, he doesn't get those things anymore.]

[ She hesitates for a long moment, his sigh - his confession - spurring her forward and she turns to stand in front of him, chin held high. ]

Would you have me for the long haul, then?

[He blinks at her, a little confused.]

I did just say that didn't I? Wherever you go, I will follow until I'm called to the Deep Roads forever.

That's not what I meant.

[ Maker, she's bad at this. Pursing her lips, Hawke crosses her arms. ]

Romantically. I'm... Putting forward my interest. In you. In a way that I did not learn from Isabela, thank you, otherwise you'd probably already be naked.
