ANGST MEME

Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters will fall.

1. just depressed.

Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.

You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.

Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.

You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.

You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.

For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.

You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.

Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.

You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.

You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.

Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.

You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.

Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.

You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.

It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss

You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.

And Fridays were my drinking days, though you never seemed to turn up.

It's very difficult to get a Gray Warden drunk. Besides, my presence would've ruined the night for many of your friends.

[He's thinking of Fenris and Sebastian specifically.]

[ She rolls her eyes. ]

Then we'll just have to try one night. A drinking contest - the winner gets... Something.

Hopefully, somewhere private. I don't want to start trouble.

Do you think I'd start one somewhere where you'd find trouble?

[ Though, given their history... Standing, she offers a hand, smiling weakly. ]

We should make a camp here, at least for tonight. We can make a move tomorrow.

[He doesn't bother to answer since they both know trouble finds them wherever they go. Instead he takes her hand and gets to his feet.]

I'll start a fire. We should have enough sticks and wood to keep it burning through the night.

[ Glancing at their hands, Hawke grins quickly. ]

Would you have had me for casual sex, Anders?

[ It's more of a tease than anything; he's the last person she has. ]

Three years ago I would've leapt at the chance.

[He lets go of her hand and moves away, back to the cave entrance to stare out over the coast.]

But my feelings for you are too strong now for that. No, Hawke, I can't have you.

Don't worry. It wasn't a request.

[ She ponders what, exactly, his feelings as are she moves to stand at the mouth of the cave. She's still shorter than him, only by a little, and it's hard to resist her urge to pout. ]

As I said... Your companionship is more important to me than that.

You will always have that, Hawke. No matter what happens I will be at your side.

[He sighs softly to himself. He wishes it was a request for more but no, he doesn't get those things anymore.]

[ She hesitates for a long moment, his sigh - his confession - spurring her forward and she turns to stand in front of him, chin held high. ]

Would you have me for the long haul, then?

[He blinks at her, a little confused.]

I did just say that didn't I? Wherever you go, I will follow until I'm called to the Deep Roads forever.

That's not what I meant.

[ Maker, she's bad at this. Pursing her lips, Hawke crosses her arms. ]

Romantically. I'm... Putting forward my interest. In you. In a way that I did not learn from Isabela, thank you, otherwise you'd probably already be naked.

I... Hawke... I just destroyed the Chantry and you... I don't understand.

[An he doesn't believe that she would feel that way about him. He's an abomination.]

I didn't say I forgave your crimes. Far from it. I just don't think shaming you for the rest of our lives is at all productive.

[ She waves her hand, stepping out into the cool air outside the cave, trying to disguise the heat on her cheeks. ]

It was just a thought. I - Well, I might have misread things, in which case you can feel free to send a fireball my way or just pretend this never happened.

Wait, Hawke.

[He reaches out and stops her. He doesn't want her to walk away from him. He can't stand her walking away.]

Don't please. I don't deserve you but I'm selfish enough to keep you.

[ She turns back, glancing over her shoulder before she twists and steps closer. It's almost too easy to reach up and rest her hand on his shoulders, a nervous smile on her lips. ]

Does that make me selfish too?

I think it makes you bloody insane.

[No one in their right mind would choose him. He still pulls her into his arms and holds her tightly.]

[ She lifts her shoulder into a shrug. ]

People have always said so. I prefer 'mentally liberal'.

[ Her arms slip around him and she smiles softly, leaning closer. ]

I suppose that's one way to put it.

[He manages a brief, real smile for her.]

[ She lifts her hand to touch his smile with her fingers, tracing his lips before her palm caresses his cheek. ]

I don't care what anyone else calls me as long as I have you.

Hawke...

[He gives up and closes the distance between them to kiss her.]

[ She leans into the kiss, wrapping an arm around Anders' neck to draw him closer. This isn't what she expected when she had stormed into the cave to give him a piece of her mind, but admitting what had always been there was a far better end to the story than she could've ever imagined. When they lean back, she kisses his lips again, chaste and quick, her cheeks red. ]

You can't tease me like this and expect me to resist forever, Hawke. [He reaches up and brushes his thumb across her cheek.] This will be a disaster but I can't live without it. I will bring you nothing but disaster and hate.

It's not teasing if I intend to follow through, is it? [ Smirking, she leans into the touch. ] I've brought you enough trouble. Might as well let you return the favour.
