ANGST MEME

Sometimes we all want to play some angst and see just how far our characters will fall.

- Post your characters, name and series in the subject along with any preferences.

1. just depressed.

Things are tough, you're feeling worn out, or whatever the case, you're depressed. You need help or someone else thinks you do anyway.

2. abandoned.

You were left behind by everyone you hold dear and now you're forced to see how well they've adjusted, how happy they all are while you're screaming inside.

3. sick.

Cold, flu, or something even worse, all you can do is lay back and let someone take care of you.

4. fight.

You've been fighting nonstop with the other person and it just keep escalating.

5. break up.

You're being broken up with and they won't reconsider... Damn.

6. separated.

For some reason, you've been separated from the other person for a long time.

7. kidnapped.

You've been held captive for how long now? Maybe they've been torturing you even, using your blood to write ransom notes, threatening to cut off fingers to send next, etc. Rescue is on the way though, right?

8. beaten up.

Just because someone didn't like you or maybe they wanted something you had, whatever the case is, you're coming home sporting some nasty wounds and bruises.

9. jealousy.

You just have this undeniable jealousy suddenly and you need to let it out.

10. cheated on.This goes beyond just suspicion and you have full on proof of what your lover has done. How do you handle it?

11. apathetic.

You're not sad, you're not happy, you just... don't feel much anymore. The sparkle of life has gone right out of you and you're just going through the motions now.

12. addicted.

Drugs, alcohol, whatever your drug of choice is, you can't fight the draw and you can't draw yourself out of the hole, but the other person is going to try.

13. bad romance.

You know this isn't good for either of you, but you can't stop now.

14. fear.

Nightmares, the feeling someone is following you, etc. You can't shake the feeling.

15. insanity.

You're seeing things and hearing them, waking up only to realize you've done things you don't remember or you're in a place you weren't before. You're losing it and you don't know what to do.

16. guilt.

It's eating you up inside and you have to tell someone about it now. You want to be punished and you won't take no for an answer.

17. loss

You've lost something dear to you.

18. wild card.

The part of your life that allowed you to love?

[ She can't exactly complain, leaning closer and just... Holding him. She'd thought she'd lost her capacity for love when her family died. ]

And yet I always came back, didn't I?

The part that allowed someone to love me. Who could love a monster?

[He's been told that his whole life, abominations are monsters. He knew what he was choosing when he took on Justice and when his anger took over he truly understood what being a monster was.]

You did. Maybe the Maker hasn't abandoned mages completely.

You're not a monster. Not to me, you never have been.

[ She shakes her head, frowning as she does her best to make him understand. ]

I'm not sure that's the case. He has stuck you with me - maybe it's a cruel joke. 'Deal with the Hawke and we'll see what we can do'.

[He tilts her head up so he can kiss her gently.]

If this is his idea of cruel he has vastly missed the mark. You are a blessing, Hawke, the only light left in my life.

[ Leaning into the kiss, she softens. ]

You've always been a light in mine. Since Mother you've been the only thing keeping me going.

Now we will keep each other going. I will carry you when it gets to be too much... though I don't think I can lift your sword.

[He looks at her massive weapon and shakes his head.]

No, I definitely can't lift that.

[ She laughs, resting her head against his shoulder. ]

You may carry me and I shall carry my sword.

[He rests his chin on top of her head, looking out over the coast again.]

That will work.

[This is probably the only peace they will have for days. There is much to be done. They have to flee but he will take this moment with him when he cannot find peace in his life.]

[ She nods, absently playing with the feathers ticking her nose. It's a shame that he'll have to change his outfit - she was rather fond of the overdramaticism. ]

Maybe I could carry you. I think I have the arms for it.

[ She leans back and lifts her eyebrow, hoping to distract him from what she knows are dark thoughts. ]

I wouldn't be surprised if you could. I weight as much as a feather.

[He has slowly wasted away during the past year. He's pale and gaunt. Somedays he believes it's only the strength from the Taint and Justice that keeps him on his feet.]

Then we'll just have to fatten you up, won't we?

[ She tilts his head towards her again, lifting his chin with her finger. ]

I'll have to have you healthy, I'm afraid. A side effect of having an affectionate Hawke around.

That's not an easy thing to do on the road. Merrill is probably the best hunter out of us and she isn't even properly trained like most of the Dalish.

[He hasn't forgotten how to live on the run. He knows how hard it will be, especially as they get closer to their destination.]

We'll take what we can get. Don't worry about me, love, I'll survive. Wardens are very tough.

Yes, but we have money, Anders. If I have to buy food and force you to eat I'll do it.

[ She shakes her head, leaning up and kissing him gently. ]

I'll always worry about you.

Too much money will attract too much attention, love. We need to balance your assets and our need to stay hidden.

[Though Anders suspects he will be the biggest problem they have to overcome. He's the one will a volatile spirit of Vengeance inside him in the midst of a brewing war.]

I suppose. I'll still be watching you like a - [ she smirks ] hawk.

[ She runs her fingers through what's left of his hair before she ponders her own. ]

I should cut mine... Change my sword, get some new armour.

[The horrible pun startles a laugh out of him. He hasn't done that in awhile.]

I will sneak back to Darktown and retrieve my Warden armor. You would do better to grow your hair as it would be very different from your short hair. It will take longer however. What you do about weapons and armor is up to you. I know nothing of what a warrior needs.

Are you sure you don't want me to go? I don't want you getting caught.

[ She purses her lips, running her fingers through her hair. ]

It'll get in the way, but I suppose you're right.

You're not stealthy, love. I know the secret ways back in. It will be alright.

[He leans in and kisses her forehead.]

You'll look beautiful with long hair. I can teach you how to braid it so it won't bother you.

I can be stealthy when I want to be.

[ ... Okay, perhaps not. There's a reason she relied on Varric to talk her out of trouble. ]

Thank you. Do you like girls with long hair, Anders?

[ Teasing; she can't help it. ]

[He looks incredibly skeptical about that. He's seen her sneak around and it's not stealthy.]

You could have no hair and you'd still be my love.

[ She wrinkles her nose a little. ]

I'd look ridiculous with no hair, Anders.

No, you would still be beautiful. I wouldn't say it's your best look, but you'd be lovely.

Flattery won't get you anywhere, Anders.

[ She still gives him a kiss, though. ]

I'm not trying to get anywhere. I'm where I want to be.

... That's exactly what I mean.

[ It's obviously working in his favour, seeing as she's tugging him closer with a smile, fingers stroking through what's left of his hair. ]
