[It was rather fortunate that Cynthia had managed to run into Noire after they'd both arrived in the past and take her on as her sideki-er, traveling companio-...no, Cynthia very much viewed her as her sidekick. Either way, after that, their luck had been... somewhat abysmal. Nothing life-threatening had happened (yet) but they'd apparently landed in a remote corner of the continent far from civilization. It... had looked like their luck had picked up when they discovered an abandoned cabin.

Then they met the inhabitant.

Cynthia wasn't the sort to give up like... ever, but sometimes she had moments of clarity where she would come to the realization that she was backed into a corner.
