Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.

Things weren't exactly going smoothly. If anything, they were going the opposite of smooth. Erica was tired and despite her healing, she still just felt worn out. They could train for weeks, possibly months and still not be ready enough for the Alpha pack. It was disappointing and more than that it was wearing them down. To just be tossed around, scattered like ash.

Erica was supposed to head home, but she left her parents a message on the voicemail about staying at a friends. She didn't think about whether or not his window would be lined with mountain ash, but she still moved toward his house and then tapped on his window once she got there.

It wasn't, but it totally should be. He just didn't want to bar entrance to his house from his best friend on the off chance that he'd need to maybe have to climb in his window for some unknown reason. Putting up any sort of way to keep Scott out of his house felt wrong, and even if it would also keep out the potential baddies that had infested his town, he couldn't risk it.

So his window was unashed and left unlocked while he sat at his desk, working on homework for once. There were occasional moments in Stiles' life where he was genuinely baffled that he still had to give a crap about any of this mundane bullshit that he might not even survive to be able to not use. People were dying. The fan was splattering shit everywhere, but he still had to do calculus. The world kind of sucked.

He looked up at the tap, half expecting to see Scott's face looming in the window with a goofy grin. He was treated to one that had said goofy grin spreading over his own face instead. Getting up, he came over and opened the window. "Hey. Uh, something wrong with the door?"

Exhaling, she climbed in through his window and shrugged a bit. "The front door comes with questions and your dad." Not that she was afraid of the Sheriff, but she was pretty sure that hanging out with an ex-runaway, especially at this hour of night wasn't exactly the best thing for Stiles.

Glancing around his room, she thought it looked different than the last time. Possibly because she was coming into it from the other side. Either way, she toed her boots off and moved to climb on top of his bed. No tugging the blankets down, just curling up on top of the comforter and pulling herself in against his pillow.

She sat up briefly, "Wait, do you not want me to be here?"

The way she came in and just made herself at home should have annoyed him. It would have if it was anyone else besides Scott, but recently Erica had sort of worked her way up into the 'totally allowed to pretty much do whatever she wants with my stuff' status. 'His stuff' was a broad generalization over pretty much everything he owned, including himself.

"What? No, I didn't say that. Who said that? No one said that."

Taking a breath she nodded, still sitting up as she watched him. "I didn't want to go back to Derek and home isn't the best when every time I come home late it's met with the nearly literal Spanish inquisition."

Her mom was a force. It was possible, that was where Erica got it from, but she was tired of a lot of things. "I'll call next time."

"No, it's fine. I just... I mean a call would be just as unexpected, right? I'm not psychic." But he was going to get up and maybe kick those boxers under the bed. No one needed to see those. Or his socks. Or that magazine.

She watched him move through his room, still sitting up, still pressing her hands to the bed to support her weight. "No, but if you didn't want me here, you could've at least told me. You know, instead of me just showing up here at your window."

Sitting up eventually was too much for her, so she moved to lay back down against the bed. "I'll call next time."

"If I didn't want you here, I could have told you that when you got here." Hey, he wasn't a total pushover, Erica. He had balls.

When he'd sort of cleaned up enough that it didn't look that bad, he moved to sit on the edge of the bed. "If you want to, not like I can stop you."

With him moved to the edge of his bed, she shifted slightly, trying to make room for him to come and be closer to her. If he wanted to be. Erica took a deep breath inward, curling in against his pillow more.

There was a moment of a frown when he mentioned that he wouldn't be able to stop her. "If you didn't want me here, Stiles -- I wouldn't stay." Maybe before, maybe at a different point in time she would've ignored that request. Erica knew that she'd busted his balls a few times with her being more of a force of nature than someone who respected him.

Things were different now, though.

He might have moved a little closer on the bed, but he was trying not to look like he was a creep who just wanted to get closer to her.

"Hey, I know that. I'm not saying you wouldn't. Look, just ignore me, okay? I wasn't expecting you and you know I don't do well with surprises. Most of them are evil and involve screaming and running. I'm not a runner."

Erica nodded and released her hand from beneath the pillow so that she could reach for him. Her fingers clapped lightly to her palm, beckoning him toward her.

"You can come closer, I'm not gonna bite."

He laughed a little, not sure if that was a good thing or not. But he also shuffled further up the bed, sitting so that he was level with her waist. Looking down at her, he lifted both brows. "Comfy?"

[No, Stiles was not awake, but the vibrating on his arm was annoying him enough to make him blink blearily down at his bracelet and try to find out who was texting him at shit o'clock.]

[ And he might have been able to, if the texting didn't immediately continue. ]

[He might have fallen back asleep if she hadn't texted again. OH MY GOD, JADE!]

[His typing went to shit when he was half asleep and lying down. He'd apologize, but you woke him up, Jade. You're lucky you're getting English.]

Silence for a moment. She might actually let you get back to sleep, Stiles. But then --]

[That's it. Girls are stupid and dumb and never sleep and were designed to totally screw with him forever.]

Ill unlock the doowr.

[And then he was getting back in bed, Jade. Back in bed and back under his covers.]

[ Give her half an hour of restlessness, of trying to power through it on her own, before she admits personal defeat and heads to his welcome house, into his room.

She will just sit. On his bed. Crosslegged, with a tiny flashlight and a book. ]

[It's the light that has his eyes twitching under their lids, then the fact that there's someone in his room. On his bed. Sleepy Stiles had forgotten he'd let her in, so when he opened his eyes and saw a half-lit figure on the end of his bed, he yelped and flailed, trying to move away and falling off the side of the bed.]

-- oh shit!

[ He falls off his side of the bed and Jade lunges forward, shining the light down, her own expression suddenly panicked. ]

-- Stiles? Stiles, are you okay?? What happened?

[ It doesn't even occur to her it might have been her that scared him. :| ]

What happened?

[He hauled himself up by the side of the bed, glaring groggily at her as he tried to ignore the pain in his ass.]

I was woken up to some glowing thing at the end of my bed. What the hell, Jade?
