Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.

"Mildly." He's smiling a little though, ducking his head down for a moment before bringing it back up. "You want to stay for dinner?" God, his dad would just be tickled about that. A hot blonde girl paying attention to his son. He might have grandkids one day. Maybe. Stop thinking of that.

"With your dad?" Her eyebrows lift up, but she shakes her head. "That sounds like a horrible idea. You could come closer though and then when you have to go eat I'll just... stay here." Her hand reaches to lace her fingers to his and tug lightly. She doesn't pull, but it's implied that he should move now.

"What's so horrible about it?" But he takes that subtle urge to move up, kicking off his shoes and moving up to lay down on the bed beside her, facing her, their hands still laced together. "Seems kind of, you know, rude to eat and not have you join us. He won't shoot you or anything."

"I was a runaway and I'm pretty sure all that damage to the school got filed away somewhere. I'm also the reason you had to have all that work done on your Jeep." She smirks at him, "You know, you really have horrible taste in girls."

"He doesn't know about the jeep. Not like I was like, 'Hey dad, so Erica the werewolf ripped out my starter and smashed me in the face with it. No biggie."

"Would you even use the W word in front of him?" With him across from her like this, she doesn't waste any time in moving to curl up against him.

"I don't know. I mean, I want to, because he really needs to be clued in. But... you know."

She keeps close to him, "The moment you know it's a giant door opening and you can never shut it again."

It's weird to think about her life before she knew, before she realized that werewolves were real and that there were a lot of other things going on in the town she grew up in.

His arm slides around her waist, his fingers idly playing with the material of her shirt. "Yeah, that. And I don't know if it would be better or worse if he found out. Especially because of all the lies I've had to tell him."

Erica nods, "Do you think he'd blame you? It's not like you were lying to hurt him or upset him, you did it to keep him safe."

"He wouldn't look at it that way. It would just be one more lie on the pile of lies I tell him." It wasn't any wonder he didn't trust him.

Her fingers shift, moving to brush to his temple, ruffling into his hair a bit. "He won't be mad forever, though."

"I don't know. He might be disappointed forever." And that was kind of worse.

"I really don't think that'll happen." Stiles' dad was one of those parents that seemed to be cool with everything. Even if he was the Sheriff. Maybe it was because he was the Sheriff. He'd seen all the horrible, the really horrible things that went on. That'll make a parent relieved that the only thing they've done is lie about werewolves. Here dad is in insurance -- she gets the careful parent thing.

"You've never seen the disappointed look." He still remembered the way his dad had looked at him when he'd come home after being fired. He couldn't even yell at him. Not that he'd wanted him to, but that had hurt, more than he'd thought it would.

Her fingers track back to the nape of his neck, inching in closer to him. "No, but I've seen your disappointed look and I know it'd be bad at first, but this is a huge side of your life that he's not involved in. Do you think eventually it'd be better?"

[teenyoda]

"Scott's mom couldn't talk to him for a week. And he never lies to her. My dad sort of expects lies from me now, so I.. I don't know." And he hated that thought. It was one thing to tell a white lie like, 'No dad, I'm out here all by myself', but it had quickly escalated from that to 'gee dad, I have no idea who killed the bus driver'. He hated himself for that and maybe he shuffled in a little closer to Erica.

Nodding, she inches in closer to him. Her fingertips push up against the back of his skull, threading into his hair lazily. "No one says you have to do it right now, but if you ever want to, you know I can help."

"You offering to be my proof?" He smiled at that, that and her fingers in his hair. His hand moved further around her, sliding up her back.

The press of his hand at her back makes her rest her mouth against his neck, pressing in closer. "I might be okay with that."

Derek would hate it, but it's easier to explain with Show and Tell.

He smiled, hand sliding a little further up to let him grab a strand of her hair to play with. "I might keep that in mind, then."

Derek could take a flying leap off a cliff.

"Good," she replied against his neck. "Are you really supposed to go downstairs for dinner soon?"

"Uh huh. But I can eat really quickly." He tugged on the strand, letting it wind around his fingers. He was feeling less hungry for food and more hungry for something else.

Her mouth curved into a smirk, lips parting to press a warm kiss to his skin, "Is that so? Maybe you should do that now before I give you any problem walking out of this room?"

"It's not ready yet. He calls up..." But he really wished it was, because he was already sort of having that problem.
