Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.

1. Know You've Been Hurt By Someone Else: There are scars left on their heart from a past relationship or fling, and you have to let them know you're not the same way.
2. Can Tell By the Way You Carry Yourself: The person you have feelings for is one of those "cold stone wall" types who pushes people away. Can you get past that?

The way she came in and just made herself at home should have annoyed him. It would have if it was anyone else besides Scott, but recently Erica had sort of worked her way up into the 'totally allowed to pretty much do whatever she wants with my stuff' status. 'His stuff' was a broad generalization over pretty much everything he owned, including himself.

"What? No, I didn't say that. Who said that? No one said that."

Taking a breath she nodded, still sitting up as she watched him. "I didn't want to go back to Derek and home isn't the best when every time I come home late it's met with the nearly literal Spanish inquisition."

Her mom was a force. It was possible, that was where Erica got it from, but she was tired of a lot of things. "I'll call next time."

"No, it's fine. I just... I mean a call would be just as unexpected, right? I'm not psychic." But he was going to get up and maybe kick those boxers under the bed. No one needed to see those. Or his socks. Or that magazine.

She watched him move through his room, still sitting up, still pressing her hands to the bed to support her weight. "No, but if you didn't want me here, you could've at least told me. You know, instead of me just showing up here at your window."

Sitting up eventually was too much for her, so she moved to lay back down against the bed. "I'll call next time."

"If I didn't want you here, I could have told you that when you got here." Hey, he wasn't a total pushover, Erica. He had balls.

When he'd sort of cleaned up enough that it didn't look that bad, he moved to sit on the edge of the bed. "If you want to, not like I can stop you."

With him moved to the edge of his bed, she shifted slightly, trying to make room for him to come and be closer to her. If he wanted to be. Erica took a deep breath inward, curling in against his pillow more.

There was a moment of a frown when he mentioned that he wouldn't be able to stop her. "If you didn't want me here, Stiles -- I wouldn't stay." Maybe before, maybe at a different point in time she would've ignored that request. Erica knew that she'd busted his balls a few times with her being more of a force of nature than someone who respected him.

Things were different now, though.

He might have moved a little closer on the bed, but he was trying not to look like he was a creep who just wanted to get closer to her.

"Hey, I know that. I'm not saying you wouldn't. Look, just ignore me, okay? I wasn't expecting you and you know I don't do well with surprises. Most of them are evil and involve screaming and running. I'm not a runner."

Erica nodded and released her hand from beneath the pillow so that she could reach for him. Her fingers clapped lightly to her palm, beckoning him toward her.

"You can come closer, I'm not gonna bite."

He laughed a little, not sure if that was a good thing or not. But he also shuffled further up the bed, sitting so that he was level with her waist. Looking down at her, he lifted both brows. "Comfy?"

She watched him settle in higher on the bed, nodding at his question. "I can move over more." His pillow and his bed were comfortable. More than the couch at Derek's at least. She wasn't up to compare it to home. He knew her bed; so, he could have his own comparison if he wanted.

"No, no. You're good." He reached out, slowly, resting a hand lightly on her hip, waiting to pull it back if she looked like she didn't like it. Or might bite.

She didn't pull away or bite. There was no motion at all when his hand settled against her. If anything, she was a bit disappointed that he didn't take his chance to just curl up with her.

"What were you working on?"

"Calculus. One of the most useless classes unless I plan on going into physics or rocket science." He looked over at his desk with a glare, loathing the homework from where he sat.

She watched him, seeing the glare and smirking a bit. Her hand buried beneath his pillow again, curling the cushion of support up higher beneath her head. She should probably try to go to school, but it seemed odd to just go when she could. How would that even look on her transcripts?

"Well, you can avoid calculus for a bit, now that I'm here."

"Yes," he said, turning back to her. "You're a welcome excuse from calculus. So, what brings you over anyway? Dire exploits? Alphas? Lost your pencil?" Because yes, she was a welcome distraction and he'd grab for it. His fingers started to tap absently on her hip as he sat looking down at her.

"I just didn't want to go home and I didn't want to go anywhere, really. I figured here was somewhere in between."

She watches him, glancing to his hand, but not really shifting or moving away from the touch.

"So I'm your in between? I don't know how I feel about that." He might have wanted to hear that she'd wanted to come over because hey, she missed him. Or she was craving some Stiles action. Or maybe just that she actually wanted to be around him. Kind of dumb, huh?

"How about, I wanted to come over instead of go home. Is that better?" She's not trying to be difficult, but she's also not trying to push anything here.

"Mildly." He's smiling a little though, ducking his head down for a moment before bringing it back up. "You want to stay for dinner?" God, his dad would just be tickled about that. A hot blonde girl paying attention to his son. He might have grandkids one day. Maybe. Stop thinking of that.

"With your dad?" Her eyebrows lift up, but she shakes her head. "That sounds like a horrible idea. You could come closer though and then when you have to go eat I'll just... stay here." Her hand reaches to lace her fingers to his and tug lightly. She doesn't pull, but it's implied that he should move now.

"What's so horrible about it?" But he takes that subtle urge to move up, kicking off his shoes and moving up to lay down on the bed beside her, facing her, their hands still laced together. "Seems kind of, you know, rude to eat and not have you join us. He won't shoot you or anything."

"I was a runaway and I'm pretty sure all that damage to the school got filed away somewhere. I'm also the reason you had to have all that work done on your Jeep." She smirks at him, "You know, you really have horrible taste in girls."

"He doesn't know about the jeep. Not like I was like, 'Hey dad, so Erica the werewolf ripped out my starter and smashed me in the face with it. No biggie."

"Would you even use the W word in front of him?" With him across from her like this, she doesn't waste any time in moving to curl up against him.

"I don't know. I mean, I want to, because he really needs to be clued in. But... you know."
