YOU MAY KNOW EACH OTHER ALREADY - OR YOU MAY NOT. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU'RE NOW PASSING THE TIME ASKING EACH OTHER QUESTIONS. IT'S A GAME! A QUESTION FOR A QUESTION. YOU START OFF ASKING YOUR OPPONENT A QUESTION OF CHOICE AND IF THEY ANSWER IT, THEY'RE ALLOWED TO ASK YOU A QUESTION IN TURN. THE RULES ARE SIMPLE, ONLY AS LONG AS YOU ANSWER THE OTHER PERSON'S QUESTIONS ARE YOU ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS YOURSELF, BUT THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF TRUTHFULNESS HERE, LIE IF YOU MUST OR WANT, JUST KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING.
How to play -
1. Comment with your character's name, fandom and preference.
2. If you want, leave a question in the comment field that your character is asking their opponent. Or don't. I'm not the cops.
3. Pick other characters to question and have fun!

True, you want it to be good to eat and also good for business.

It’s a good kitchen staff at least, a little eccentric but they care about the quality of their work.
no subject
They are very nice. I feel bad that I never get to try their stuff.

You can just make the most of our card and game tables, unless all Kindred playing is prohibited and not just high rollers.
no subject
Kaz, I don't think you understand how terribly I'd do there. I'd be the smallest of rollers, and I can't control my face at poker.
no subject
You should tell Jesper that, then make a point of blowing on his dice.
no subject
How bad a reaction do you figure that'd get? Or is the goal to just get him off the tables and back to work?
no subject
The latter, unless the former is especially amusing.
no subject
I'll be sure to do it while you're around, so you can see and judge for yourself.
no subject
That I can fit into my schedule. All for the sake of keeping him on task, of course.
Who taught you poker or other casino games?
no subject
Just, you know. Some light and gentle mockery of whatever Jesper might do when I risk his game with my terrible gambling vibes.
Let's see... Poker I learned from friends when I first moved to Greenwich Village. Kinda figured out blackjack and slots first when we stayed in Atlantic City for a while, and learned the new machines in Vegas. Still don't actually know how roulette works in too much detail. I just pick stuff and let 'em spin the thing.
no subject
Anything that keeps him away from the table is good in my book. Though he's been better about it since meeting Wylan.
I learned primarily through watching as well.
no subject
Do you play at all? Or do you keep all your gambling to your schemes?
no subject
I played more when I was learning, just to get the experience and figure out how to rig the games where I could. I do sometimes now just to keep sharp. Not often, though.
no subject
I've been told rigging them is a fine art all on its own. Do you know how to play 'Go Fish' though?
no subject
It is indeed, and one that for me at least couldn’t be fully learned just from watching or reading. I do actually know how to play Go Fish. It’s been a really, really long time, though. [There’s a long pause before he admits.] I used to play with someone back in the day. The deck had lost cards but we still made it work.
no subject
Can't always have a full deck, but I'm not surprised at all that you managed with missing cards. [ She can guess at what the pause and 'back in the day' translates to. Someone that's not here to play with anymore. But she doesn't push at it. ] Maybe we can play sometime, make sure you remember all the rules in case you want to open a table for it. Might be the only game I do well at.
no subject
[She's right, it was Jordie.] I'm amenable to that. I'd like to see what you got. Put any matching skills to the test.
no subject
Next time you have time, I can bring a deck. You'll probably still win, so don't gloat too much about it.
no subject
I'm a delightful winner. I've had a lot of practice to perfect the art of it.
My brother taught me how to play.
no subject
Good to know. I trust you'll keep any gloating fully on the delightful end of things.
Yeah? He must've been very good to teach you with missing cards.
no subject
I'll keep any gloating civilized. Where do you stand on trash talking while the game is commencing?
He was... optimistic, let's call it that. And open to letting me invent rules to compensate for what was lacking.
no subject
Fully support it, so long as you don't get too personal about it.
Sounds sweet. What kind of rules did you end up with?
no subject
A fair boundary. The trash talk can remain regarding the game only.
He was. If a number card was missing, you could still put down the single card as though you had a pair, but only if you could tell a pair the other person was trying to get. Otherwise you had to still draw from the deck. It was easy for me to count cards and keep track of what he'd asked for, so it usually worked in my favor. There was one brief time where placing down single cards was permitted in exchange for dares, but that didn't last long.
no subject
Thank you for that.
Yeah, I can't imagine the dares would've gone over well for more than a game or two. There's far too much leeway for shenanigans.
