Now, though, you're finally ready to be sexually intimate.

☆ First Time: This is your first time having sex, so it was something to approach with caution.
☆ Unsure: You're uncertain of your skill or prowess or even how to go about this.
☆ Uncorrupted: One of you is more innocent, younger, more inexperienced, and the other doesn't want to take that away.
☆ Differences: The two of you are different enough - perhaps even different species - that intimacy may be an issue, but you're ready to attack it head on.
☆ Taken: You aren't "together," and one of you is involved with someone else. This is the big decision to do an act that may be viewed as heinous.

This had to be some sort of mix up with the front desk. Steve had definitely put down for two twin beds, not one queen sized. That was what they were looking at though: a very nice hotel suite with one queen sized bed in the center.

He wouldn't have guessed that because the woman at the desk gave them two keycards like usual and just wished them a goodnight.

"Huh," he said as he tossed his bag onto the end of the bed. "Well, I could call down to the front desk and get us a new room if you want?"

It wasn't like they hadn't slept in the same bed before. They did it back before this roadtrip when Bucky struggled at night. He wasn't bothered by it, exactly, but he did want to make sure Bucky had his space if he wanted it.

Honestly, he was mostly interested in getting a shower, something to eat, and going to bed. It had been a lot of driving today but they were behind schedule thanks to an accident on the highway. He was kind of tired and kind of cranky. It wasn't typical for Steve on this roadtrip.

Bucky didn’t think much of it until Steve said something— “No, why bother? We’ll be fine,” he nudges Steve’s shoulder as he gently brushes by to drop down onto the bed.

“What do you wanna eat? I’ll order something while you’re in the shower,” and then they can switch and figure out whatever they’re doing before actually going to bed. It was a long day, but Steve can’t stay cranky forever.

Food will help. Back in the old days he never ate that much. He didn't need to. These days the super soldier serum requires he keep himself well fed. A hot shower will be even better. He doesn't really get muscle cramps or knots, again the serum, but he felt stiff from sitting in a car for so long.

"Fried chicken if they have it. Whatever sides you think I'd like." Steve strips his shirt over his head and tosses it on a chair. He rubs his hand through his hair. "If not just get me something and a lot of it."

He starts on his fly as he ducks into the bathroom. It's a rainfall shower which feels like such an indulgence that Steve thinks he should feel guilty. Instead, he stands there for a long time under the hot water before he starts to actually wash up.

"All right, I'll find something," he says, grabbing take-out menus from the bedside table; surely there's fried chicken at an easy, deliverable distance. His eyes sweep up from the menus to see that shirt disappear.

He places an order and grabs his bag to find a change of clothes for the night. He doesn't intend on leaving this room for the rest of the night. Comfort is the only thing that matters. He lays the clothes at the foot of the bed and slides his bag under the edge of it. No need to unpack the whole thing if they're not here for more than a night for some decent sleep.

Bucky slides his shoes off and lines them up next to the bedside table, collapsing against the pillows and just listening to the sounds of the shower from the next room.

Steve actually showers once the hot water does the work of easing some of his tension. It's hard to pinpoint the exact reason for his mood outside of hunger and frustrating traffic. He wants to eat and read a book before going to bed. Tomorrow will be better. That's what he's got to believe.

He comes out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. "All yours. Plenty of hot water left."

Modern hotels were great like that. They never ran out of hot water these days. Steve dragged his bag close to find something comfortable to wear. He pulls a black tank top on before he drops the towel and pulls on soft, grey Dodgers sweatpants that Nat gave him years ago.

As he's rubbing the towel through his hair to help it dry he smiles a little at Bucky. "Thanks for handling dinner."

"Thanks," he says it when he turns to look back up as Steve comes back into the room.

Oh.

His mouth is dry as he takes in the sight of Steve in nothing but a towel.

Oh, no.

He shakes his head, "No problem." A beat passes. Two. And he blinks, hard, pulling himself out of whatever thoughts he was having. He scrubs a hand over his face and grabs his clothes on his way to take his own shower.

It's no big deal to get dressed in front of Bucky. They've practically lived together for decades. Bucky's one of the few people Steve didn't mind seeing him when he looked like a blond broomstick.

He gives him a little smile, figuring Bucky's just as tired as he is. He seemed really lost in his head there for a second but not in a bad way. Not in a way that would make Steve worry. It's just been a long day for both of them.

While Bucky's in the shower Steve gets his book out, makes himself comfortable on the bed and starts reading. He can feel himself relaxing inch by inch. The bed is soft and comfortable, perfect after a long day. He misses Bucky next to him but he'll be back soon enough.
