[ The world is still too dead for Matt to laugh at the joke, but he manages a smile. ]

[ He reaches to find one of Matt's hands, giving it a squeeze. ]

You should look around, though. Seriously. If we have to run into a fight you need to at least be sort of used to using it. My intuition's pretty good but there's no way you're gonna hear someone throwing a knife at you from behind you.

[ that gets a half grin, because Matt always knew his dad was the best guy in the world, even if he got his face beat up for a living.

But the second part of the statement has him looking around in panic. He can't hear if anyone is here, and it's dark in here-- ]

Can you hear anyone's heartbeats? In the room? You should be able to hear them breathing, moving-- the floorboards will move with them as well.

[ Like, every part of him, from the heartbeat to his breathing to the way the sheets rustle each time he makes one small movement. And, yeah, of course Danny hears literally everything else (it's impossible not to) but Matt is overwhelmingly present.

Though, he supposes if he's telling Matt to start getting used to things fast, then he should get used to it, too. It's weird how he sort of knows where things are, not just from his memory but from the way all his senses are just telling him they're there. That doesn't stop Danny from keeping an arm cautiously stretched out as he navigates his way forward and out of the bedroom. ]

I know I've said it before, but you're seriously the coolest person I've ever met.

[ Matt doesn't want to let him go as he stands and crosses the room. There's a heat in his chest that wells up protectively, and he isn't sure if that's just Danny or the magical immortal dragon powers or-- ]

[ monk magic is the wrong word and he knows it, but he doesn't know a better one. ]

There's a lot more to the mystic arts than just what I know.

[ Which means, yes, Danny absolutely thinks that's exactly what happened to them. And it bothers him that he doesn't know more about it. Did he waste his time in K'un-Lun? Is this something he should have learned about or paid more attention to?

Some Iron Fist he is. He bristles thinking that Davos would probably know. ]

Okay. So let's assume it's some sort of magic. The question is, is it permanent if we don't reverse it, or will it go away on its own?
