It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm with an endless downpour. Time to quickly find cover! Nothing much to do but to wait it out. Where is the rain happening? How are you coping? Why are you out when it hits?

002 PARK | Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT | Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of.
004 BEACH | Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm.
005 FOREST | Mud, bugs and all the rambler's paths are washed away so you don't know how to get out.
006 SKY | On a plane? A pegasus? You were there when the first drop fell.
007 EMPTY CITY | Maybe it was a zombie apocalypse or WW3. It's safer outside when all the nasties take refuge indoors.

Wei Wuxian is not sure if he should count what he did as running away from home or being kicked out. It was certainly difficult to label considering the huge fight that broke out between him and his step mother, the shouting and harsh words screamed at each other. Son of a whore and homewrecker being words that he was never going to get out of his head for a long time. The final straw came not from the words she said but when she hit him with this—whip thing she had, hard enough to leave a good sized cut on his right forearm. The wound still stung but at least the bleeding had stopped.

Jiang Cheng had grabbed his mother and told him to run, advice he had never been so eager to take when it came to his little brother. He was definitely going to get in trouble for that, especially when he would be expected to show up at school tomorrow and make up for what was definitely going to be a glaring hole in the Jiang family. Not like it should affect her that much, Wei Wuxian was always the disappointment of that family.

Which, now that he thought about was kind of funny. That kid at school he bothered a lot, Lan Wangji the cute boy that shared his Orchestra class. The one he labeled as his best friend even if he didn’t want the title. He’d been said to be the golden boy of the Lan family a protege. They couldn’t be more complete opposites and Wei Wuxian was definitely annoyed him because of that.

Oh… he’d left Chenqing at the house with everything else he owned.

He sighed and shook his head, rain dripping from his hair that was sticking to his face. He tried to brush it out of the way and looked for the nearest bus stop. He did not expect the teen that was current occupying his thoughts to be standing at the bus stop holding an umbrella. Well, at least one of them was thinking tonight. He shivers form the cold and steps up to the others side, tucking his hands behind his back which really bothered his arm. Leaning forward he tried to catch the others face.

“Lan Zhan! I didn’t expect to see you out here, much less this late. It’s raining and cold, are you alright?”

[ Bontenmaru is still a few years shy of growing into the fierce One-Eyed Dragon he'll come to be known as. It is precisely because he has yet to be recognized as a proper man or a lord that he has so recklessly fled from the castle into the woods... again.

There's something strange out in the mountains, the rumour goes. Something neither man nor beast. A god, or perhaps even a demon, that takes the shape of a horse or a woman, depending on who's gossipping about it.

He doesn't know how deeply he believes in it. Enough to have gone hunting for it himself, at the very least; even if it turns out to be nothing more than some bandit on a stolen horse, it's a bandit on his land, and protecting Oshuu is his responsibility. Perhaps people will finally acknowledge that once he takes the intruder down.

In his haste to outrun the family servants, Bonten didn't give a second thought to the weather. He only realizes how heavy the air is when the stormclouds block out what light dapples the forest floor, and less than a minute later the rain begins to pour.

Footing is treacherous enough in the hills. Everything being dark and wet just exacerbates it. Anyone with common sense would find a place to wait it out, but Bontenmaru refuses to let a little bad weather cow him. So it was kind of inevitable that he'd end up slipping on a particularly slick patch of mud and takes a tumble down the steep hillside, coming to a stop just a few feet away from his quarry.

He's more like a crumpled heap of wet, feral kitten than any kind of dragon. ]

That, and finding cover to wait it out is almost impossible. Emil doesn't mind at all; rain or shine, he can just float along with that stupid smile on his face and not feel much at all. But he's worried about Nier. And how meaty he is. Surely it's gotta be getting to him, right? Being cold and wet? And Weiss' pages! What if they get stuck together? Or do Grimoires have magical paper...He should ask, one day. But the priority is:]

[ It wasn't just enough for Lucifer to unleash a deadly, zombie-esque demonic plague on humanity; he had to go with the whole "hail and fire" mixed with blood. If Castiel were younger and gung ho as he once was, he might call this apocalyptic weather a test of their will to survive. He's not who he was, though. And now he calls it fucking annoying.

The rain's coming down in sheets, just like it has been for days, a veritable Noah's flood, which would be fine with most of the cabins built on stilts like they are, made for just such an occasion ages ago before the nearby lake was dammed and flooding this far north was a seasonal problem. The problem isn't the water up to their calves, the confused water birds or the laundry lost to the current, but the wind. The wind is fucking punishing, knocking down satellite dishes, large sections of fencing that weren't properly reinforced, and all kinds of important things that can't be repaired for fear of impressively constant lighting strikes. All the wrath of Heaven, some might say, but Cas wouldn't say that. Cas would tell you that Heaven doesn't give a shit.

Every day of this non-stop rain is a trial. Even after the metaphorical hatches are battened and the occupants of swept-away tents are found new, temporary lodgings with generous neighbors, this group of anxious, downtrodden survivors of the zombie apocalypse are left with nothing to do but ration supplies and wait out the storm. There's no going anywhere or doing anything productive until it passes, and while that might seem like Castiel's ideal life, he's less than happy about the strain it's put on everyone else. Dean, especially.

Barefooted, Cas leans against the doorframe of his cabin, squinting out at a gray sky and flooded horizon blurred by never-ending streaks of rain. The beaded curtain drapes over his shoulder like an ecclesiastic stole, and thin incense-like smoke rises from the joint held between his fingers. Cas brings it to his lips and inhales. ]

[ There's comfort to be found outside of the city; Badlands by name and by nature, V knows which parts of 'em are less... bad. With the old rockerboy back in a body - no longer sharing one brain between them - he can only imagine how fucked up that must be. Considering he's not expecting Johnny to fuckin' say how much it might or might not be hard to deal with, he's dragged the man out to bumfuck nowhere to take a breath. Least this part of bumfuck nowhere comes with a rarely seen copse of trees and grass.

And then the rain comes.

It's not the same as the rain in the city; there's something earthy about it all, fat drops on mostly dusty dry wasteland. Puts V in the best kind of mood, face upturned towards the sky as he embraces it. Might not be the most clean, most filtered water, but it's water. Water that's rolling in rivulets over his face and down into the collar of his shirt.

The hulking beast of a truck he drove them out here in's not all too far away, but he's not planning on making a dive for it. ]

[ Escorting nobles from one side of the land to the other is nothing new for Eivor; he's escorted kings and soon-to-be kings, jarls and more. That this one is a foreign noble makes no difference to him.

The roads are dangerous for all alike, certainly in these parts where a noble - such as the one on horseback next to him - seems to be wearing all manner of possessions that look valuable. Conversation has been slow, though mostly because Eivor has been watching out for trouble.

And then the skies open and everything smells like petrichor. If it's left up to him, they won't be stopping. It's just a little rain; nothing that can hurt them. ]
