He nodded. "Fair enough."

She nodded against him.

"I won't be able to go sightseeing with you unfortunately," he said.

"I know," she said. "It's okay."

He nodded. "You'd be okay if Arthur and I spent time together?"

"Professionally or personally?" she asked.

"Personally," he replied.

She sighed.

"I can't believe you want to, but yeah fine," she said. Although he wasn't sure how he was going to swing that with her around.

"You said I could, I just had to be up front about it," he pointed out.

"I know," she said. "I just didn't think I'd be around while it was happening."

She assumed they'd be off on a job together and she'd be far away where she could pretend it wasn't happening.

"Maybe I shouldn't come."

He shrugged and then unwrapped himself from her, resting on his back. "Whatever you want."

She sighed. She regretted saying that he could still have sex with Arthur now, but she didn't want to take it back.

"Maybe I'll just go away by myself somewhere," she said. It would probably be good for her.

"Sure," he said, looking at the ceiling.

"Are you mad at me about something?" she asked, noting his sudden brusqueness with her.

Because she thought she was handling this okay. Considering the early texting with Arthur and all.

He sighed inwardly and shook his head. "It's nothing, love, don't worry your pretty head about it."

She rolled her eyes.

"Don't be patronizing," she said and rolled over so her back was to him.

"I wasn't," he said calmly. "Why would I be mad anyway?"

"I don't know, but you're suddenly being curt with me," she said.

He laughed.

"Why is that funny?" she asked.

"It's not, I'm sorry," he said, still smiling.

She sighed.

"Sleep," he said and then kissed her temple.

She rolled her eyes and then closed them.

Eames rolled back onto his side to face her and draped his arm around her waist.
