Bilingual and literature-friendly, too. If you'd caught me when I was-- [younger? no, that really does make her sound old] --your age [...pfff that was even worse], you could've won me over.

[And there's some truth behind that, too -- Jill may (generally) stick to one type these days, but she was less strict about that in her teenage years (wasn't everyone?); and goodness knows she's dated a few ~~oddballs~~ unique ones in her time. ~~...Of course, Kida's flirting fail wouldn't have been nearly as endearing then as she finds it now, BUT...~~]

So what exactly can't you do, Kida-tono?

[If Jill thought he was as high-and-mighty as he acts, she wouldn't risk inflating his ego even with that -- but his abrupt leaps between demeanors aside, he's almost too into himself to be believable, or at least not for long. Jill doesn't have kids, doesn't spend too much time around them, and hasn't been one in nearly two decades, but it's no secret that some do what they have to in order to find a niche somewhere -- or create their own.

Not that she can make a full judgment call, of course, having only just met him.]

Ah~ are you trying to charm me, Jill-neechan? Because whether you mean to or not, it's definitely working! And if our difference in age bothers you, then just wait for me a few years, and there'll be no problem any more, right? NOTHING CAN STOP LOVE, OF COURSE!!

[He's laughing so easily, and his tone is so light that he's clearly not serious ~~although if she happened to be...but no, really he just wants to talk to the girls he 'picks up', so MISSION SUCCESS!!~~]

Hmm, well let's see! I can't fly, I can't read minds, and I can't stand eating with only guys! It's way, way, WAY too boring that way!

[Eating somewhere with Mikado is the exception to this, but he probably still jokingly moans about it a little.]

As someone who frequently eats with only guys, I can sympathize. [More joking, of course, since it's obviously not the same.] But flying's overrated and reading minds would just spoil all the surprises, so you're probably not missing out on much.

No fair, no fair~ Those guys are just too lucky, being graced with your presence like that! You should eat with me sometime, too, just to even things out a bit!

[He's still joking, but somehow at the same time he manages to be sincere, too.]

And flying would be WAY COOL, and while you're right that it would spoil the surprise of waiting to see what people are going to do or say, that's just the kind of a sacrifice a ~TRUE HERO~ is selfless enough to make! And if I could do either or both of those things, I could go from ~NUMBER ONE CLASS IDOL~ to ~TOKYO'S GREATEST SUPERHERO~ in one fell swoop!

Or maybe you should eat with them, and I'll hope that they pick up some of your manners. [Which would be hilarious, actually; depending on his mood, Chris would either mostly go along with good humor like she is or tell Kida to calm the hell down. Parker... would probably shoot her a look and ask, Jesus, Jill, did you drop him on his head at the hospital?]

I'll give you that. Then I'd hope I could call in a favor every now and again -- just whenever we were stumped on a particularly hard case, of course.

Nope, I'm sorry but that would be totally completely 100% impossible! Unless you're there, too, of course, Jill-neechan!

[Imagining himself as a superhero is fun and pretty funny but also totally impossible. Honestly, he's kind of glad that he doesn't have that sort of power, because he'd probably find a way to mess things up even more if he did. ...He would be the Tokyo Branch of the Avengers' Just-Can't-Ever-Catch-A-Break Guy, like Spider-Man. Who is awesome and who Kida ttly wants to hang out with again, but still. The dude's got it rough.]

Of course you could! Any time you needed me, all you'd have to do would be light up the Kida Signal and blazon my crest into the skies, like a brightly burning symbol of our love, and I would drop everything and come running any time you called!

...Unless that meant dropping a busload of kids, that is! In which case I'd have to finish up that job first and be sure they were all safe and the villain was captured, but then I'd be right there right away, superhero's honor!

I wouldn't leave you alone with such a serious bunch, don't worry.

[She can't help laughing again at that, entirely and genuinely amused.] Well-- [One sec, still chuckling] --you've got the responsibility and foresight parts down pretty well. In the event that you get blasted by radiation or something, at least you'll be prepared. And I'll try not to take it for granted.

I wasn't worried in least! Regardless of who they are and what they're like, I'm sure I could handle them even if you did leave me alone with them--it just wouldn't be any fun! For me, I mean! They'd probably end up having the time of their lives!

[He preens a bit, then posts his hands on his hips and puffs out his chest a little.] Well, I do know quite well that ~WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY~!! And I've actually met the real, actual Spider-Man, too, so I'll have an easy IN to the Avengers if anything like that did happen to me!

...Heh. [Her smile's a shade wry this time] All things considered, I can't even tell if that one was a joke or not.

[And Jill's not a comic book fan at all, or anything even vaguely like it, so she has no way of knowing that she's actually met three of the Avengers in her time ~~or even that she's seeing a comic book character har har~~ -- still, she knows who Spider-Man is (who doesn't?), and she knows some fictional people have turned up real around her. Hence why she can't tell if that was a joke or not.]

Of course it would! Certainly it would be a night they would NEVER FORGET! Hopefully they'd be paying attention, and would even learn a thing or two from me!

[Kida just smiles at her, not at all wry but definitely amused.]

Well, I guess I'll have to learn to tell the difference. [...And they've been talking for quite a while, sooo just to see if he's still paying attention, Jill steps casually and easily back as they come out of the next turn -- and in the same maneuver that she once used on someone else, even if she doesn't realize right away, she'll lift their hands and put herself into a quick, simple spin under them before stepping in again.]

What kinds of things do you want them to learn the most? I'm afraid I can't teach them how to be so devastatingly good-looking--I was simply born this way! But although my charm was inborn too, I could probably still give them a few pointers there if you like!

And you can try to learn, but there's no guarantees that you'll figure it out, and I won't be giving you any hints, unless I'm telling you straight out like I did just now!

[--And ah, spinning. It's a fairly simple move, and she did all the work and took the lead, so it's easy to follow along. Kida just goes with it, though of course he can't resist commenting about it.]

[Here he actually lets go of her completely for a second to throw his arms wide, though it doesn't really mess anything up since the basic waltz is Just Not That Hard, but get ready for some capslock]

BUT EVEN THEN I WOULD PERSEVERE, AND FIND A WAY TO PUT THEM THROUGH A BREATHTAKING SUPER-COOL ULTRA WONDERFUL TRANSFORMATION WORTHY OF THE MOST MAGICAL AND HOMELY AND POWERFUL OF MAGICAL GIRLS!

[She doesn't care how many stares that gets; she does slow the dance, though, partly in surprise and partly because she's too busy stifling her laughter. Trying, anyway, and largely failing.]

On -- on second thought, maybe you should keep most of that talent to yourself. I'm not sure there should be more than one person this energetic around me.

Ah, but to keep such overwhelming talent to myself? That would be FAR too greedy of me! Things as marvelous as that were meant to be shared, since clearly they weren't given out evenly to everyone at birth!

[His hands are back in place before you know it, and he'll even put her through a basic spin, very much like the one she led them through herself...immediately after which he does a spin himself, grinning from ear to ear as he does so.]

[Her smile breaks into a grin again, only to be straightened into a clearly pseudo-serious look as she gives an approving nod -- and then she'll try stepping back and out to the limit of their arms' reach, before moving back in again in another easy spin. It's all slow and simple, easy to keep up with.]

You might be too selfless for your own good, Kida-tono. [A tilted smile this time, still gently teasing.] Don't let anyone take advantage of that, now.

Oh, but there's no need to worry about me, Jill-oneechan! I'm just selfish enough to be well-protected, though I am selfless enough to share my charm and sparkling conversation and strikingly attractive self with anyone and everyone who passes by! When you're constantly overflowing with such things, you don't even have to think about running out!

[It really is easy, so it's no trouble for him to follow her lead. And once again he'll copy what she did, temporarily taking the lady's part of the dance and letting her lead. X'D]

[She grins again at that. Well, since they're being entirely goofy now--]

In that case, I won't worry too much.

[It's a bit tricky in heels, but ~~so is backflipping and running up walls and throwing around guys twice your size~~ Jill manages easily enough -- stepping out, back in, still with one hand in his, she comes closer to him than before, allowing herself enough room to get her other arm securely around his middle.

He's light enough, and she's certainly strong enough: she shifts his weight for him this time, and with no danger of dropping him,

totally and utterly

dips him backwards.

It all happens a few beats faster than her previous pace -- and whether it's just because or to catch him off guard is anyone's guess-- and it only lasts about a second and a half before she easily pulls him up again.

She's not laughing, but it's close. |D]

[...Well, he had been taking the girl's part sometimes, so it's not totally unexpected, but. He certainly hadn't expected her to move so fast, or dip him so far--as in, if she let go of him, there's a zero percent chance that he could possibly regain his balance--and so easily, like he weighs next to nothing.

It's startling enough that his grip on her tightens as his eyes go wide for a brief moment--]

[--but he's smiling again even before she pulls him back upright.]

Oh my~ What's this, what's this~? I thought you said you weren't trying to sweep me off my feet, Jill-neechaaaan~
