[If there was one thing Phantom R was known for - other than stealing art pieces and returning them unharmed a few days later - that was having some pretty slick dance moves. Though... He's not quite sure what to do about this predicament here. Running away from the constables again had forced him to both split up with his partner and sneak into a dance hall... And one with a party going to boot.

[ after the storm, after erik limps home clinging to life and their precarious peace finds the depth only known through terror, erik insists they go out and leave him in peace for a few hours. he's tired of their fussing, he says, looking between them with bemused impatience, but really it's concern motivating his command. charles is as subdued as they've ever seen him, lengthy silences only broken by worried sighs or tentative questioning. he sleeps less than erik, not knowing whether to divide his time between erik's bedside or use his contacts to research the men who left erik in this state. judy has to coax him away, an insistent hand on his elbow until he follows her with tired resignation.

they go to a hole in the wall on the wrong side of town, the kind overlooked by everyone but the best kind of locals. it's the type of place judy would regular: a family establishment at its core, there since the town was an industrial giant. it features live music every night, jazz and blues that cuts through the thick cigarette fog with soulful saxophone melodies and piano trills that linger like a lover's fingertips.

they drink in silence for a while, letting the chatter of the bar fill their ears. charles isn't one for inactivity, though, and eventually he looks over to her. ]

[Gilgamesh has taken Nill to the most glamorous of galas. It is already in his business to be doing whatever he wants and occasionally dragging Nill along, so this is perhaps not too new a scenario for the poor girl. However, it is the most spectacular of places Gilgamesh has taken her to so far.

The ballroom they are in is brilliant. The center floor where there are just a few couples dancing is wide and spacious, enough for half the crowd of people present to be dancing all at once. The circular tables spread around the room are meant to seat at least a dozen people, covered in pure white table cloths with candles at their center. There are servants all abound, bustling between people and tables to offer food and drink. The ceiling is so high it is nearly out of sight, with massive golden chandlers hanging down to illuminate the room.

Gilgamesh himself is wearing a black suit that faintly glimmers in the light, with a red vest and tie underneath over a white shirt. For Nill he's gifted her the nicest of dresses, of her own choosing.

He finishes his wine, standing to offer a hand to Nill.]

( there is definitely music. cheesy music. but at least Stark knows how to throw a party -- with an open bar. and apparently an orchestra. Natasha isn't against dancing though, since she's supposed to be one of the guests of honor. one dance and then she can go running back to her safehouse and settle down for the night with some of the nicer vintages she'd stolen from the bar earlier and hid in the flowered centerpiece.

she just needs to find a partner. and there is only one person she knows will oblige her without too much of a fuss. )

[ They've been through the ceremony, speeches, feasts, and a lot of official kind of things that bore the hell out of Denmark. These things tend to be several days kind of affairs and she has already angered at least three or four different blue bloods, mostly from Sweden. (So it doesn't matter.)

At the bottom stands the ball and dancing and it's been quite a while since Denmark has last been dancing in a dress like this. It's been a while since she's been wearing a dress like that in the first place. They're mostly short or half length for other celebrations nowadays. She's a little bit anxious, knowing that she'll have to dance with quite a few princes and kings tonight. This is why she has secured herself a Norway in a smaller, unused room at whatever fancy mansionlike place the wedding has been held. This must be a sitting room of some kind. There's enough room still to make a few spins on the floor. Why did Norway agree to help her? She's still not certain, but the important thing is that she did.

It could have been easier if she had mentioned this last night. Or the day before even. Or any time during the four days they've been sharing a room at the hotel. This morning could have been okay too. They could foregone the sight seeing, which had been mostly an excuse for eating out and walking the streets of the old town. And they could have done this a lot earlier. But Denmark decided to keep it to herself until the very last minute. The music is playing - a whole god damn orchestra - in the ballroom, but here it's quiet, only a faint sound of it drifting through the door that was left a bit ajar.

It could have been a trick to get Norway all to herself, too. She looks so damn cute in that dress. (A fact that made leaving hotel room a few hours ago quite a challenge.) But sadly, she's serious about her problem. She looks around when they get in and first yoinks some tissue from a box that has been set strategically on the table and wipes off the lipstick from her mouth. It tends to get smeared when she rattles on and she can always apply more before they leave. She's not that used to being all dolled up in the first place. You have to be careful with make up. The same with hair. There's a single red flower in her hair, a few curls hanging loose and framing her hair, braids, curls, all sorts of stuff that the hairdresser put in. (She just read a magazine because it took so damn long. ) She didn't think her short hair could be twisted into something so classy, but it is pretty neat.

The room is only half lit, a few lamps alight on the windowsills. But it's more than enough, right? She turns to Norway and smiles at her. ]
