1. Another day that ends in Y. When mass murder needs to happen you're the weapon for the job. Employed? Owned by a secret organization? Untamed embodiment of extreme violence? Either way someone's going to try to stop you eventually.

2. How did I get here? The last thing you remember everything was fine and hunky dory– Wait, is this b-blood?! Hopefully there's someone who can help you and not hurt you.

3. Justified. This is war and wars are won with weapons, not words! Cut through the masses knowing what you are doing is right. Does that mean the enemy of your enemy is a friend, or is everyone not part of the solution a problem?

4. Humor/Crack option. This really is your blood. Do you have intense nosebleeds every time someone even moderately attractive catches your eye? Are you Deadpool and constantly leaving heaps of blood everywhere? WHO IS GOING TO CLEAN THIS MESS UP?

5. Smut. Bloodplay, nuff said.

[Things have been so quiet lately that Ciro has finally felt like he's outgrown that instinctual urge to run at the slightest sign of trouble. He's comfortable where they live, and they make decent money, and are taking on more clients who recommend others. Rune has kept busy with that end of things while Ciro minds the shop and keeps their supplies stocked.

He knows he's lucky that the only thing concerning him lately is how infrequently they get to see each other. Which is exactly why Ciro invited himself to come along for a house call. He doesn't know the client personally, so he waits outside in the car, reclining the seat and scrolling through his phone and sending text messages while he waits on the other witch to finish up. There's no sense in going in with him when he'll likely be more of a distraction than an asset.

15 minutes pass and he doesn't feel any sign that Rune is doing the spell he's spent so long fine-tuning just for tonight. It's not like him to get distracted by smalltalk or accept an invitation to stay for dinner, not without texting Ciro, so he starts to wonder what the hold up is. Rather than annoyance, his actions come from concern. He closes his eyes to focus on trying to feel Rune's familiar magical signature inside the building, but he can't get anything. Not even any wards. Ciro focuses harder on trying to read whatever anyone inside might be feeling, and just as he locates Rune's rage he hears a gunshot.

He's sprinting from the car within seconds, hardly aware of what he's doing or how he's going to help without putting himself in danger. Ciro doesn't have much control of himself. He's terrified and enraged at once, the latter probably coming from Rune. Whatever instinct has taken over him rips the door to the townhouse open so he can step inside. Whoever fired the gun seems to have taken off out the back, leaving Rune on the floor COVERED IN BLOOD.

Ciro wants to chase after them, hunt them down, and tear them limb from limb, but he can't leave Rune like this. There's so much blood it's hard to say where it's coming from. From the volume of it and the amount of time that's past after having heard the gunshot it's clear that a major vein was hit. Dark deoxygenated blood slowly pumps out of Rune's abdomen with every beat of his heart and Ciro drops to his knees beside him, hands feeling for the wound. It's big. Too big. Whatever they'd used to shoot Rune wasn't meant to be taken out, but rather burst apart inside him.]

Rune! Rune, I've got you. You're going to be okay.

[He doesn't know that, but he's already pulling out all the stops to try to stop the bleeding. Ciro can't close him back up until he fixes that vein...and that magic..it takes a lot more control and precision than he's used to. The moment he realizes that, he starts to cry, but pulls his sleeves up all the same. There's no way he's letting Rune die like this.]

[ he's a reaper. ideally a person's soul has been detached from their body before he arrives so he can just ~guide~ them into the afterworld. but things don't always go to plan, so there's flexibility for scenario opportunities. as for 704 himself, his canon's a little vague about reaper physiology; but he seems markable so guess it could be his blood too - blood which, of note, is potent with yang energy~ which in his canon is a thing goblin's sustain themselves on, so it would probably read different as well to other characters who have a sensitivity to, well, blood types in every sense of the word.

It's fine, really.

He has fought the good fight. He's fought the long war. There are people that can take up the mantle. And even to a degree, he feels he deserves it. This is the ending he should have had. It was why he didn't call any of the others. Bruce wasn't one for making a show of the things that truly mattered. The others had things to do and people to save. Their lives would always be and were more important than his. They always would be.

One leg crushed under the broken ship parts of Stepphenwolf's invasion. One arm pinned down. He was sure he was bleeding from the abdomen as well. The Bat merely grunts out of frustration, attempting to free himself. It isn't like he'll give up the fight. ]
