Train to the After Life
tickets please
maybe you know how, maybe you don't. perhaps the memory is fuzzy, or perhaps it's crystal clear down to the look in your comrades' eyes. maybe it was your time; you've done all you wanted to. or maybe you weren't at all ready to go, maybe you went out kicking and screaming -- but none of it matters. you know you're dead, and the train is taking you to an afterlife. perhaps an afterlife of your choice; you might've earned that heaven. or perhaps you've earned something else entirely. it'll be a bit of a journey, though, so you might as well take your time and talk to the other people in your coach. death knows no place: most of them are strangers, even from faraway worlds. but death knows no time either, so who knows, some of them may be people you know, even if last you knew, they were alive -- or long gone. oh look, here comes the snack cart. |
» POST with your character
» said character is now DEAD for whatever reason -- canon, au, what have you. they are on a train with other dead people from many other times, places, and worlds.
» characters don't know for a fact where they're headed -- just a general awareness that they're going to some kind of AFTERLIFE. whatever they think it is is up to the player.
» have FUN & TAG AROUND
TRIGGER WARNING!!

[ He didn't need to get involved and make things worse despite the selfish part of him desperately wanting to. Anakin wanted to meet his future children, knowing he'd never get the chance to be a father, only a dark presence looming over them. Doing nothing but instilling fear and acting as the right hand of a lunatic. ]
I hope there's a change of scenery, this is pretty bleak.
[ He keeps up with her, trailing at her heels and to her right. When they reach the end of the train, he wastes no time in launching off the roof and flipping through the air to land in a crouch. ]

Skidding to a halt midway down the last car Rey held her arm out dropping it as Anakin rushed on ahead, gaping as he leapt off the train.
Unwilling to let herself get too far ahead and risk losing him, but not at all the flipping type of girl Rey climbed down to the platform of the last car, wincing as she flung herself from the car, curling into a ball. ]

Standing up, he jogs over to her and holds out a hand to help her to her feet. ]
You okay?

Taking his hand she bounced back onto her feet, shaking her head as if to clear it. ]
I'll make it, you okay?
[ Heading back up the little embankment towards the train tracks Rey dusted herself off, looking backwards towards the now small shape of the train. ]

Never better.
[ Anakin falls into step at her side, whistling at the sight of the train disappearing into the distance. ]
It's a good thing we left when we did.

Standing in the middle of the tracks she finally turned to gaze down the way they had come, frowning thoughtfully. ]
When we get back to life, we're going to eat so much ronto. Come on, let's get going.

Ugh I don't want to talk about it. I'm so hungry I could probably take one down.
[ He turns around to face the sea of endless track and unchanging landscape and sighs before heading down the path they'd just come. ]

I guess if we were really dead, we wouldn't be hungry, right?
[ Again she fell quiet, trying to focus on the way the Force felt - or rather didn't feel - around them, frowning in consternation as again she received frustratingly little insight for her efforts. ]

[ It's unsettling how this place seemed to go on and on like the sands of Tatooine, stretching so far that even the sun can't seem to touch its end. ]
I still have a bad feeling about this place. Wherever it is.

I guess maybe we can't die again - so we'll be able to just keep walking until the end?
[ How long had she been on that train for? How far were they going to have to walk. Whatever the challenge in front of them truly was she was right about not being able to get any more dead. However weird this was. ]
Maybe there are towns here - in the whatever this is?

[ This does not feel like the Force. More of an absence of it. He can question it all he wants, but now isn't the time for an investigation. Their first priority is getting back. ]
Even if there are, we shouldn't stick around. What if there's a time limit?

[ Rey trailed off frowning as she looked around them at the landscape unfolding around them. ]
Cozier? Not to mention I don't think we're one with everything.
no subject
[ They'll figure it out the further they get. ]
How long do you think we were actually on that train?
