what's your number?

what's your #?
a meme about what it says on the tin.
1. post with your character, canon, prefs if you like
2. include in your comment the number of individual sexual partners your character has had (feel free to headcanon it up; zeroes are valid)
3. comment to others. be surprised, scandalised, delighted, etc.

[Breathing out in...relief? He's still uncertain, though.]
To be honest? Kind of. Not saying it's a bad thing or anything. It's just...
[He's vaguely gesturing because, well, nerves.]
...unexpected.

I get it. Don't worry, I didn't exactly walk up to proposition you or anything.
[And here she gestures at his handy number.]
I mean part of it was I just wanted to ask bases because I've always been a curious sort of person.
[Then she shrugs her shoulders a little, her amused look mulling into something equally as friendly but more mellow. More distinctly Claire.]
Plus hey, it's not like I get to talk to you a lot. [That includes a much older Leon from her own... time? World? Whatever.] Business and all, you know how it is.

alwayssometimes.]Curious, huh.
[He's about to make an attempt at teasing her back with some off-color question about her curiosity but quickly realizes they're getting into more serious territory here. So he relaxes, too.]
That's...fair. It's not as if we've bonded over anything except what caused us to meet in the first place.
...a shame, too.

No kidding. Sometimes I get pretty sick of talking about nothing but B.O.Ws. When you're married to a job like I am, you sort of start discussing the same thing over and over.

[Not quite as experienced or traumatized as the Leon she might know, this one. But he's seen enough.
After a moment, he shoots a quick glance her way. Curious.]
...how do you do it? I mean, get by and meet other people and all that without letting it consume you?
no subject
I'll be honest, I don't think you can really outrun it consuming you at least a little.
[And some people like that much older Leon? Let it consume them a little too completely. Or break them in some way.]
I'll tell you why I do it though - I just don't want to see another Raccoon City. Ever. Or any of the other stuff Umbrella got into.
[Rockfort Island. Steve Burnside. WillPharma, Harvardville, Sherry consigning herself to the government without seeing any other choice. Hell even Leon was the same, roped to the government and look where it took him.]
So if I left myself drown in it all, how would I ever stop any of it?
[The look she ends up giving Leon is just so damn deadly serious... and a little pleading too.]
Remember to be human now and then, Leon. That's all I'm saying.
