"Hair dye might help," Eddie admitted.

He hadn't exactly pictured himself taking in a kid out of the blue like this. But, after Spider-Man was called a murderer and his secret identity revealed, Eddie had put on his reporter hat and gone to investigate. Quentin Beck had to be lying, but the man was dead and thus they had no way to get a confession. Eddie was positive that Peter was innocent, but without proof, they were in a hole.

Lucky for everybody, Eddie had been able to save Peter from an angry crowd before they could lay their hands on the boy. Separating him from his aunt was for both their own good, much as Eddie knew it would be hard on them both.

He did his best, looking after Peter, doing what he could to be there for the boy. Though he was worried that he would prove to be an ineffective foster guardian.

"Not sure you going out without some kinda disguise is a good idea yet."

"Yeah, but that's what the dye is for." Sitting -- Was Peter even sitting? His ass was firmly attached to the ceiling as he googled certain hairstyles while trying his best not to google any Spider-Man news. "I mean, I could always wear sunglasses anda big hoodie or something."

He needed to go back out there at some point. Staying indoors, caged, it wasn't something that could work permanently.

"You've gone undercover for stories before, haven't you? My aunt used to watch your show, it was pretty badass."

"'Course I have," Eddie wasn't too worried about Peter sticking to the ceiling, seeing as he had the spider reflexes. "Your aunt would also track me down and kill me herself if anything happened to you."

Like to see her try. The symbiote said inside Eddie's mind.

He sat on the sofa, so he could just rest his head against the back rather than crane his neck up to watch Peter. "I know you hate being cooped up in here, and that you probably miss swinging around, it's just that we worry about you, y'know."
