Massage Meme

Everyone could use a good massage now and again right? Well it's time to let you characters lay back and relax-- or maybe treat someone else to a little skin therapy. ;) Break out the oils and scented candles, it's time for a good rub down.

How to play:
❧ POST with your character (list their name & canon in the subject if you please)
❧ Others can reply giving the massage or recieving it.
❧ Use RNG to pick from the numbers below, or pick your numbers, or make something up!
❧ Have fun!

Type

001. Shoulder and Neck - the basic of the basic. Perhaps a strained shoulder, been sitting too long at their desk. Or maybe something even more strenuous. However, it's time to work out all those accumulated kinks.

002. Foot - It's time to give those yapping dogs a rest and treat them to a little TLC.

003. Hand - Hey don't forget about the hands, overworked constantly they could use a bit of a break.

004. Arm - Time to loosen up a bit and rub out those arm muscles.

005. Leg - Perhaps you're looking for something a bit more specific and intimate. Calve massage? Thigh? It's your choice.

006. Back - Considered a coup de grace of massage, the back massage, when done right, can bring extreme relief to those who receive it.

007. Scalp - Wanna feel those tingles down your spine? Maybe a little oil to help add health to the hair?

008. Full Body - Maybe it’s not just a specific area you want treated, but your entire body.

009. Wild Card - Anyway you want it. Mix and match, maybe I forgot something you want.

Relationship

001. Friend - getting a massage from a friend can be a wonderful bonding experience. And exacerbate already existing tensions ;D

002. Lover - Whether a show of care or a prelude to something more intimate, a massage from a lover is a very welcome thing.

003. Service - Hey some of us aren't so lucky. We gotta pay for this service.

004. Wild card - Whatever you want. However you want.

[Watching Spock leave the bridge at the end of their shift is practically watching an exercise in masochism. Spock is clearly still stiff and sore from his injury, but Bones had said there was not much more he could do and to just 'Let the damn Vulcan heal on his own, Jim' after Spock had walked out of sickbay for the third time.

And thus he had returned to work, but Jim still thinks it's ridiculous. That's why he turns over the bridge and goes stalking after Spock, making to make sure to get him in his rooms. He practically hears music from an old spy movie - Bones likes that kind of stuff - in his head as he ducks along behind the Vulcan towards his quarters.]

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-10 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jim is not as stealthy as he clearly believes. Spock is aware of his presence the second he starts trailing him, albeit a bit more distantly than normal due to how much of his focus is on blocking out some residual soreness. Pain, after all, is a physical matter and is therefore easily controlled. He thought he'd been covering it well enough, but his Captain's apparent stalking suggests otherwise.

Still, Spock chooses to ignore his less-than-tactical following and continues to head for his quarters with every intention of meditating. Meditation won't help the pain, but he needs to sort the day's thoughts out.

[It's clearly Jim's way of attempting to help, in his own way. Spock's door barely even shuts before Jim's nudging the buzzer to indicate someone's outside, rocking on his heels.

How could a Vulcan be that bad at hiding his pain? Or maybe he's just learning after a few good missions under their belts. Either way, there has to be a way to help. Maybe Spock was against taking painkillers or something like a sane man-- okay so he refused them too, but Bones had all but given up on trying to force them on the Captain.]

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-10 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Having expected that, the call to come in is almost instantaneous. Spock doesn't have anything against painkillers beyond the fact that suppressing it himself is a way to further his emotional control. Again, he thought he'd been covering it well enough -- but then, Jim has a tendency to see through him, a fact he hasn't quite reconciled yet.]
kirktastic: (Grin)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-10 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[The doors part and since Spock didn't even ask who it was, Jim's got a pretty good idea his first officer knows he was following. Damn, so he doesn't have spy moves under his belt.

It does remind him he hasn't actually been inside Spock's quarters, which leads him to try and look around with curiosity but only after giving Spock a lazy sort of grin.]

So, how's your shoulder doing?

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-10 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spock doesn't mind the obvious curiosity. It's natural. His quarters are set up in a similar fashion to the Captain's, though a variety of Vulcan artifacts are placed around.

At the lazy grin, he arches a slanted eyebrow.
] It is well. [He's not going to admit he's still sore. That would be a concession of weakness.]
kirktastic: (Talking Blunt)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-10 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I think otherwise. Maybe the others miss it, but you kept trying to ease the strain on it all day. You don't shift around in your chair but today, you definitely did and I don't think it's a coincidence that it's your first day back after nearly having your arm ripped off.

[Blunt either works very well or terribly with Spock, and he hasn't quite figured out when is which yet. Still, he'd rather not beat around the bush and well... maybe he's actually concerned.]

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-11 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Kirk's blunt nature is another thing he hasn't quite been able to reconcile. There are few brazen enough to be so straightforward with him. It's both strangely satisfying and ruffling at the same time, not that he would ever say as much aloud.

He's going to try to distract his Captain, moving to the replicator and putting in the code for tea.
] Would you like something to drink? [So it's not the most subtle tactic.]
kirktastic: (Standing)

Did you read the book that went with the first ST movie by chance?

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-11 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Jim loves ruffling Spock's feathers as much as possible, speaking of strangely satisfying.]

Sure, but that doesn't mean you're getting off that easy. [Nope, not working Spock.] My guess is... not taking the painkillers Bones told you to, am I right?

I read roughly half of it. xD

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-11 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Entering the code for a second tea, he waits until the cups appear, steaming hot. Removing them from the replicator, he sets them on a small table. His movements are stiffer than he'd like, and he's positive there's no way Kirk will miss the subtle roll of his shoulders.]

I do not require the painkillers. Vulcans are capable of managing pain the same way we manage the rest of our bodies.
kirktastic: (Eyebrows Up)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-11 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
...Stiff as a board? [Jim says after a few seconds of hesitant guessing.]

Look, [He sits down, picking up the tea and sniffing once before raising a brow. Tea, huh? Smelled sort of spicy, so he guesses something Vulcan in nature.] I want to help, that's all.

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-11 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
[That earns Jim a flat look.]

It is sash-savas tea. [An off-handed comment, having noted the sniff. Spock is silent for several moments, considering.]

How would you help?
kirktastic: (Smile - Very Small)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-11 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Smells good, actually. Never been much of a tea drinker, but there's a first time for everything. [His smile means no offense at all, taking a sip and debating if asking for sugar would be insulting. Oh well, he can deal with bitter. Not bad though.]

I've learned a lot over the years, specially all the years I didn't have a doc around to help me every time I got my ass kicked. Get a towel and get the water as hot as you can stand it and lay it over your shoulder, then a massage when the muscles have loosened up and you'll start to lose that stiff as a broken board look and back into normal stiff as a proper board look you usually have.

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-12 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. I am aware of your preference for coffee.

[More silence. He shifts his gaze away from Jim, thinking over his words. He lets the entire 'board' part slide, though he does briefly wonder if his Captain realizes his analogies are often quite... colorful.

Finally, after taking a sip of his own tea, he nods, more to himself than Jim.
] I would be amenable to that.
kirktastic: (Grin)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-12 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't mean I can't enjoy tea, [Kirk says pointedly, raising a brow. He's a man of culture. You know. When he wants to be and all. The things he's managed to eat since becoming Captain and visiting other worlds has been colorful already, even when Bones is off making faces.]

See? There we go. Shirt off, Commander. [With a grin he gets up, padding over to the bathroom and peering around without hesitation for a towel, getting it wet and hot. Right, Vulcans have a higher internal temperature, compensate by nearly burning himself in the process.]

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-12 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Spock blinks at the command to remove his shirt. He doesn't move right away, internally debating the potential consequences of his agreement before he rises and pulls his uniform shirt over his head. He carefully folds it and sets it aside before repeating the action with his undershirt. All the while he pointedly listens to Kirk move about in their shared bathroom.]
kirktastic: (Eyebrows Up)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-12 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[With a few curses, Jim manages to get the towel to a level he can touch it (barely) and still as hot as he could go. He brings it out with a few dry towels and only pauses a second as he studies his now half-naked first officer. Didn't expect that much hair. Not so sure why he assumed Spock had a sleek chest.]

Alright, get yourself comfortable. Maybe about... fifteen, twenty minutes and it'll loosen up.

[He ends up laying the towel across Spock's once-injured shoulder, draping it just carefully with surprisingly gentle hands. Then he covers it with one of the dry towels to keep the heat in, then a second one.]

[personal profile] spockish 2012-12-13 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Spock is standing stiffly when Jim returns, and he sits back down just as stiffly, watching as his Captain lays the towels over his shoulder. The gentleness of his hands doesn't surprise Spock. He's observed and noted his capacity for violence as well as tenderness. It is that quality that makes him a Captain worth remaining with, as far as Spock is concerned.

The wet towel is heated perfectly, though that thought makes him pause, gaze flicking to Jim's hands. They're redder than normal.
] You burnt yourself.
kirktastic: (Look Questioning)

[personal profile] kirktastic 2012-12-13 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm fine, promise. Just a little tender. [He can deal with pain easy enough, and they're barely even tender. He moves and sits back in the other chair, not even bothering to hide studying some of the things in Spock's quarters. The rescued objects that bring him closer to his few remaining people. Then one particular thing caught his eye.]

You play? [A little gesture towards the 3D Chess set.]
