[She has to pause. After everything, it hasn't been easy. But he did give her something that even protects against him.]

Yes. [She did let him drink from her, and while they did not have any semblance of normal relationship, she does trust him.]

I don't like being in the dark. I'm a part of this -- whatever this is -- now.

[negotiates]

[He nods. Good. Trust is important to Elijah. He's glad that he's earned it. He finishes his drink and turns towards her, extending his hand.]

Come here.

[The tone of his voice is just a little lower, and his head tilts as he looks at her. Eyes darkening, gaze moving to her throat. It's clear where his focus has shifted.]

[She knows that look, and while Amy has never been the best with commands, he is different. After a moment, she slides closer to him.]

We're okay then? [She never told anyone about him, and he was going to keep her safe.]

[negotiates]

We're okay.

[Their secret is safe. He smiles, looking her up and down. One hand comes to rest loosely on her hip, while he lifts the other to brush her hair away from her neck. Then he pauses, giving her a moment to anticipate his next move.]

[She tilts her neck, trying to not to tighten up. Her shoulders relax as she leans into him.]

[negotiates]

[They're used to this by now. Elijah is efficient in general, and he has this down to an art form: the tiniest, most precise movements as he tilts her head back at just the right angle and cradles her to him. His fangs extend; it's quick but not messy when he bites into the taut flesh of her throat.

He drinks, slowly, taking the time to savour the taste of her blood.]

[Craning her neck, there's a soft sound as she looks up to the ceiling. Her hands move to clench into his sides. She holds herself against him, trying to relax against him, breathing out slowly.]

[negotiates]

[As always, he's very aware of her reactions; it's how he gauges when to stop. Within a minute, he eases up, licking his lips as he draws away from her. There are two small puncture wounds on her neck. He thinks that she looks beautiful with blood trickling down her skin, but practical concerns must come first.

Elijah flicks the tip of her nose gently with a finger, checking her reactions, and a moment later produces a plaster which neatly staunches the wound.]

Okay?

[She blinks and moves her head when he flicks his nose, giving him a curious look. But after he checks her, she nods.]

Little weak, but you didn't take as much as last time.

[negotiates]

[He seems satisfied with that.]

I can't if I'm to see you more often. You need to be able to get through the day.

[waitedlongenough]

You'll be coming more then? [There's a lilt to her lips, a smile slowly spreading across her face.]

[negotiates]

[He smiles back.] I take it you approve?

[waitedlongenough]

I've never sent you away.

[negotiates]

You can, you know. I want to make that clear.

[waitedlongenough]

I know I can. [She leans back and shows the bracelet he gave her.]

I decided awhile ago I like you though. As incredibly manipulating as you are.

[negotiates]

[He's back into his relaxed position on the couch now, as if he hadn't just bitten her. A shrug.]

I'll take that as a compliment.

[waitedlongenough]

[Her lips pull down, not a frown just not particularly caring.]

It is what it is. You're good at what you do, I guess. You're interesting, and you did save my life the first time we met.

[negotiates]

[She's really good at this complimenting thing. Such ringing endorsements.]

I've been around for a long time.

[waitedlongenough]

[He sucks her blood on a regular basis. What does he expect?]

I get that old soul-less vibe. [She smirks at him, amused.]

[negotiates]

[Fair point. He glances at her, the corners of his mouth tugging upwards.]

Mmm.

[waitedlongenough]

[She tilts her head and finishes the glass.] What?

[negotiates]

I would object to soulless... But I am dead.

[waitedlongenough]

Some would debate the existence of a soul, and I know some right tossers that are far more soulless than you are.

[Humans can be just as cruel, but without the abilities.]

So why me? In all of this, why'd you want me?

[negotiates]

[She's right about that. He thinks about it for a moment.]

[That gets her to smirk.]
