The Body Heat Meme

Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[ Is Midorima ashamed of going to the arcade? No, it doesn't seem like it. Akashi isn't either, though. ]

I don't mind telling others about the arcade. If I bring back a prize, I wouldn't be able to hide it.

[ It's more like he's just a private person and would rather err on the side of not doing anything to bother Akashi's father if it got back to him, because Akashi is the only one who would have to deal with it. ]

Should I win you a prize, since you already said you would get one for me?

[ If Akashi says it's fine, it's fine. He gets the menus and takes a seat at a table. It seems to be a seat-yourself restaurant, then flag someone down once you know what you want. ]

[ The prize was supposed to be something of a thank you and a remembrance of this outing, but he wouldn't mind if Midorima won him something instead of winning one for himself.

Although-- ]

I'll accept it if you beat me in the shooting game.

[ May as well make it a challenge. It will be fun!

After saying that, he checks out the menu. He's a basic bitch though so his order isn't so classy. ]

I'll have a miso ramen with seaweed and egg.

If you mean the basketball shooting game, we'll be here until one of us collapses. I won't miss even if the arcade ceilings are too low for my normal shots. Or did you mean one of the gun games? [ They could go hunt deer or zombies or moe anime girls turned killer robots together. Arcade games are wild.

[ And the guy is just yell-repeating their order to the guy making the ramen behind the scenes and he's off. The food will be out pretty shortly, since ramen doesn't take long to make. ]

I would prefer to challenge you to a basketball shooting game in an actual court. This time, it'll be one where we shoot zombies.

I agree. I've only played the duck one before now. Do you have practice with the undead?

[ Just so he can gauge how difficult this challenge is going to be and he can mentally prepare himself. ]

No, [ He's only ever gone to an arcade once!!! ] but Hayama speaks so eagerly about those types of games.

[ He would also have another story to tell his teammates after today. Reo would be so scandalised. ]

It sounds like you get along well with your teammates.

[ Even after they met the other Akashi first. He's hoping he's right. That's more important than zombies. (Though now that it's a competition, zombies are pretty important for the rest of the day too.) ]

[ He does get along quite well with his teammates! The Uncrowned Kings didn't even need to be tamed-- they're all rather friendly people! ]

I do. We've gone to an arcade once, and we visited the temple together, as well.

Mibuchi calls me Sei-chan, and I don't mind that, either. I think he's the first to call me by a nickname like that.

[ Sei-chan and Shin-chan. He can just see Takao having a field day with that. Akashi doesn't seem to mind it half as much as Midorima purports to, though. ]

Takao calls me "Shin-chan." It sounds like we've both ended up with handfuls on our teams. Are you closer to him than the others?

[ This is a part of Akashi's life that he's never really had the chance to ask about before. After all, their lives have been relatively separate since middle school outside of basketball. ]

[ He truly doesn't mind. It's a special name especially since nobody ever gives him nicknames! He wouldn't find it annoying if Takao found out about it either. ]

I suppose. He's the vice-captain so I work with him closely. Although I've had to spend more time with Mayuzumi-san for his training.

[ Though it's probably best not to discuss that when they're trying to have a good and lighthearted conversation. ]

[ The ramen comes then, pretty fast service! Midorima isn't trying to press him for any kind of upsetting conversation, he just wants to make sure that Akashi isn't alone the same way Akashi was making sure with him earlier. But he supposes he'll move on to another curiosity. ]

Do you have someone specific to play shogi with or are you [ terrorizing ] regularly visiting Rakuzan's shogi club?

[ Akashi shakes his head at the inquiry. ]

No, there isn't anybody I regularly play shogi with. As for the club, I pay a visit from time to time. There aren't many who want to challenge me.

[ He pulls his bowl of ramen closer to him, breathing in the soup. Plus, it's warm! It helps his hands a lot. ]

Do you still play?

With no one in particular. Shutoku's shogi club has tried to convince me to join a few times. I've gotten better, but it's hard to tell how much compared to who I used to play against.

[ Midorima's mouth is watering at how good their two soups smell, savory scents mingling in the air over their table. Perhaps he was hungrier than he'd thought, or perhaps hot chocolate simply doesn't sate the appetite the same way real food does. ]

Then, we'll play again. Or would you like to try correspondence chess some time?

[ That would be something new! Either way, it's a test of wits and Akashi is all about it. He seems to be issuing Midorima so many challenges today.

He holds up the bowl close to his mouth and takes a few sips of the soup. It's delicious, and once he sets down his bowl, he picks up his chopsticks and prepares to eat. ]

[ He did ask for more chances to challenge him. Midorima notices the challenges are piling up, but it could just be a coincidence. It isn't that many to be something he could definitively say is abnormal, if welcome. ]

I wouldn't object to doing both.

[ Midorima goes for the chopsticks first. He likes to drink the broth at the end, so he'll be saving it all for that time. He'll let Akashi taste everything first before asking if he likes it. ]

[ It definitely is just a coincidence. Akashi doesn't really notice what he's doing-- he's just having pure fun.

He says his "itadakimasu" before digging in, picking some noodles with his chopsticks to eat. He closes his eyes, letting the flavour and the heat sink in, and he finds that he likes what he ordered very much.

Once he opens his eyes again, he feels them getting a bit sweaty from the steam. ]

This is good ramen. Do you come here often to eat?

It's not good to indulge too often.

[ Plus, as Akashi has likely noticed by now, this delicious ramen is very hot and very steamy. His glasses keep fogging up... It doesn't make eating here super convenient. ]

I suppose not.

[ Ramen's still kind of healthy though. It's not so bad as fried foods, he thinks. ]

Midorima. [ ... he bites his lower lip to stop himself from showing any amusement. Then he points to his own eye. The glasses............. ]

I'm well aware.

[ He's not sure whether his vision is worse with the fog or without his glasses... he's at something of an impasse. ]

I can't see any better without them though.

[ ~~Apparently Midorima is practically blind without his glasses if he can mistake people for statues.~~ ]

[ He's not sure what to suggest, then. The steam won't really damage the glasses at least, and it'll evaporate quickly enough. ]

Then it's probably better if you keep them on.

[ By the time Akashi's spoken again, he's already pulling them down on his nose, just to see if he can tell the difference.

Either Akashi is a red blur or a white-fog with a red background. Either way, it's eliciting a frown. ]

Do you prefer I see you as a red blur or fog with a red back-light?

[ Coming from anyone else that might've been seen as a joke, but Midorima is quite serious about it. ]

[ What an odd question. Akashi has no preference when he's not the one looking at himself or anything.

He laughs, setting down his chopsticks. ]

I don't think it matters. Whichever is easier for you.

[ With that he wipes his mouth with his table napkin. Once he's set it down, though, he holds out his hand. He's asking for the glasses. ]

[ He sees the movement and can still tell general limbs from table, of course. Had it been anyone else he would've simply refused, but it's Akashi. He trusts him. Midorima takes them off and folds them, then puts them in Akashi's hand. He had been about to push them back up, but if Akashi wants something with them, he's fine with it for the moment. ]

If you tell me whichever, then ask for them, it's contradictory.

[ And yet he handed them over.. ]

I'm sorry, my curiosity got the best of me.

[ he takes the pair of glasses and puts them on. Immediately, he finds himself squinting because of the change in his vision. Midorima's eyesight is really bad... smh. ]

I can't imagine having your kind of eyesight. Now you just look like a large green dot.
