{ Take the victory, Gabe. In 130 some-odd years of existing, Valryn has never encountered a pun before. Or, he probably has before this point, but had no idea what he was hearing wasn't supposed to be a direct comment.

Also take the victory because once Valryn rereads the original joke, and it all clicks into place, he actually laughs. }

I see, a joke. A play on words?
Pane-ful... You are so very clever, Gabriel.
It must take some extra consideration toward language to make these jokes. How interesting.
Do you know any more?

{ God help us all: a drow, learning to pun. }

I do, yes
they're all equally as bad as that though, I should warn you.

[ It hasn't occurred to him just yet that their idea of what a bad joke is maybe at opposite ends of the spectrum. ]

Okay, um
What's the difference between a well dressed man on a bicycle and a poorly dressed man on a tricycle?

Is it common for one to regard their humor as bad? Is that another attempt at a joke?

I'm not sure; what are each of the men wearing?
{ Surely the secret lies within the details of their manner of dress? What constitutes as well dressed, or poorly dressed? As far as Valryn is concerned, most humans he encounters dress terribly. }

Attire.

[ Again, he's just having a good old giggle here, even if he has to explain it. ]

No, a bad joke is one that doesn't quite work
If the word play doesn't make sense, for example.
