Secret Admirer

SECRET ADMIRER meme
You're in love with them, but they don't know it and you have no real intention of changing this. Whether it's because you don't want to admit anything to yourself, can't handle rejection, don't think you're good enough, or have no real experience with this kind of thing, your lips are sealed...for now. And maybe forever, if you're contented to love them from afar.
That is, if the object of your affection doesn't figure you out first.
HOW TO PLAY
- Comment with your character, preferences, and whether they'd be the admirer or the admired.
- Reply to others.
- RNG it or not.
PROMPTS
- Meeting: How do you meet? Is it love at first sight?
- Falling: You learn to love them, even if you never have before.
- From Afar: You're not too close to them - they may not know you at all - but you still admire them. Whether "afar" means something like a different school, a different team, or a different world or walk of life is up to you.
- Notice Me: You actually do want to be noticed. Please, senpai!~
- Right in Front of You: The two of you are friends or allies, yet you're hiding your emotions in plain sight.
- Denial: You? Love? No! Especially not with them...no, you weren't looking at them!
- Jealousy: They don't know you're attracted to them, so you shouldn't feel mad when they're getting attention from others.
- Too Shy Shy: The words just won't come out. Besides, you're too flustered by their presence in general.
- Don't Deserve Them: You wouldn't want to subject them to you, anyway. They're too good.
- Favors: Your love may not be known; still, you can do things for them or get them gifts, and they'll wonder who's doing all this. Their happiness is all you want, not their recognition.
- Bad at This: So, about all those gifts or favors? You're not the sort to know about kindness and because of this, your shows of affection tend to be you offing their rivals or giving them stolen items.
- Adorkable: You're awkward but it's endearing!
- Never Expect the Quiet Ones: You barely speak, much less show how you feel. How could they know what you really think?
- Lash Out: It's frustrating to have a crush you can't act on, so you've decided to act out...towards the one you love, perhaps to push them away.
- Admission: Finally, you've decided to admit what you've felt all along.
- Outed: Someone else has told your secret.
- Caught: Maybe you were caught looking at them too much, speaking about your love out loud, or leaving them a gift. No matter what, the jig is up.
- Content with Secrecy: You can admire them without saying a word. You're not conflicted in the least with living this life!
- Requited: No more harboring secrets, as your feelings are returned.
- Unrequited: ....ouch. Just ouch.

Hunter was among this small group. He wasn't homeless anymore, but he still kept close connection with the people who accepted him -- when no one else had. And right now, he was helped an elderly gentleman wrap his hands with bandages.
A large black hoodie hide Hunter's face from most of the people who passed them by... and there was a slight advantage to being ignored. He didn't have to address any questions regarding the tattoos or the markings on his face.
There was so much chaos going on right now. The nurses was arguing with the police officer who had escorted them here. There was a few of the homeless who were arguing among themselves. And everyone was scared and angry.
Hunter was worried for his friend. The hands of the elderly man were almost a dark purple. And Hunter was getting the feeling that his friend might be ignored. He stood up, looking around nervously. Maybe he could find a doctor.

Most of his day consisted of doing his rounds, doubling as both nurse and doctor for some due to the short-handed staff. He could hear the arguing by the other nurses with the police on his way to drop his files at the nurse's station in that particular room. He knew full well as did they that the homeless are particularly susceptible to the extreme changes in the weather, not minding at all that they were here, even if they were a little short on places to put them.
After all, they wouldn't be here if they weren't hurt in some way.
Derek stopped in the middle of the hallway while it was momentarily empty, pressing his back up against the wall and slid down into a crouch. He ran his hand through his hair and closed his eyes as the other cradled patient files to his chest, he needed a breather for just a moment before his hands were back to being busy. Not sure as to when he'll get the chance for a 'break' again.

Derek looked tired. And Hunter suddenly felt a little nervous bothering him.
"Excuse me..." He spoke softly, speaking to Derek. "My friend here... I think he needs medical attention. Do you have a moment?"
no subject
He took the chance to stand and kneel in front of both of them, placing the files on the floor while he grabbed a pair of latex gloves from his lab coat pocket. "What seems to be the problem?" He asks as he looks up at the both of them, waiting for an answer as he already suspected what it might be, judging by the bandages on the elderly man's hands as well as his attire.
Derek couldn't help but let his gaze linger on Hunter a few moments longer, looking at the tattoos and scars on his face left him curious. Even if this wasn't the right time nor place to ask of such things. It would certainly explain his need for such a large hood that he seemed to be hiding under.

And when Derek knelt in front of him, his mind momentarily fluttered to slight sexual images. But then, his elderly friend had a coughing fit that brought Hunter back to reality quickly.
"His hands are so purple. I am concerned he might have an extreme case of frostbite." Hunter explained softly. He moved to unwrap one of the bandages that covered the elderly man's hands.
He could feel Derek gazing at him. And felt a lump in his throat.

"Umm, wait here for a few minutes while I go find out what room to take him to for a proper examination." He smiles again before walking off to the nurse's station, making light talk with the nurse sitting behind the desk while he passed off the files he had.
There was a possibility of having to place the homeless in joint rooms, just to keep the frostbite cases in the same area instead of scattered around the hospital. It would be easier to monitor their well-being as well. It wasn't long before he came back, holding a notepad in his arm to replace the files he once held. "Let's get you all settled in and cared for, shall we?" He motioned for Hunter and his friend to follow.

He felt a little uneasy in the hospital -- truth be told. Every smell, every room, every nurse and doctor reminded Hunter of the dozens of hospitals that his father had dragged him to. The specialists. The high-paid surgeons. All with the goal of 'curing' his son of Hunter's changed appearance.
"You know... you have so many patients to see..." Hunter struggled to find the words. "If you need me to leave..."

He stopped briefly to the side of Hunter, giving his shoulder a comforting little pat. "You're fine. We're a little under staffed so i might actually need your help with him. If that's not too much trouble? You're free to leave if this is keeping you from somewhere."
Derek wanted to get to know Hunter more and while his reason for asking him to stay wasn't a complete lie, he didn't know if he'd ever see him again if he left now. Besides, they'd have to let his friend take a temperature regulated bath to warm up his body and it was easier to do with two sets of hands instead of just one. When they reached the room, he ushered them inside and followed in shortly behind.
"Sit anywhere you'd like." He said as he chose to lean against the sink counter combo in the side of the room near the bed.

Once they got into the room, Hunter felt a little better. It could have been his imagination, but he had felt people staring at him in the hallway.
But he felt safer being in the room with Derek and his elderly friend. After a look around, Hunter noticed the sink counter combo near the bed, and quickly to two-and-two together to figure out that his friend might need a warm bath to counter the effects of the cold. And Derek might need help with that.
So after a moment of deliberation, he removed his bulky sweater, to lay it on the bed. He wore a simple short-sleeved shirt underneath. Without the sweater on, the tattoos and markings that covered his face, and similar ones that covered his arms were quite visible. The most noticeable marking was the large rose bush tattoo on his left forearm. The thorn-themed tattoos that continued up his skin seemed to compliment the rose bush, in a fashion.
"So what do we need to do?"
no subject
Derek waited as Hunter and his friend got situated before he went through explaining what was to happen from here forward. He watched Hunter with curious interest as he removed his sweater, his eyes running over the neat thorn tattoos that seemed to snake along his skin. An interesting theme choice as he catches the rose bush.
He perked up at his question, "First, I need to run through a few questions then I'll need to check your friend's vitals before we let him soak in a temperature regulated bath to help bring up his core temperature." He lightly tapped the pen against the notepad that sat on his arm. "He'd have to stay here till the storm passes if not longer, the frostbite he has is at a level where if I warm up the skin and put him back out there. He'll more than likely lose his fingers or worse even his hands."
It was a huge risk they were taking due to the fact that he wasn't sure how long the homeless were going to be staying at the hospital before someone higher up decided they needed to leave.

"So many of them are going to need care." He frowned slightly.
"And I know none of them are going to be able to pay any bills to cover costs. So I would like to cover any expenses."
