[ It's only a few days after the events that turned everything upside down. Newt's supposed to be leaving in a steamer tomorrow, but for now it seems he's taken up camping in the Goldstein home. In his case, of course, so when the woman goes to find him to tell him that Queenie left out some breakfast...

She's rather surprised to find him curled up in his cot, blanket tucked around him-- And a demiguse, occamy, niffler, and somehow a Mooncalf all surrounding him. She can't help but laugh at the sight. ]

Are you sure it's not them taking care of you?

[Newt blinks up at her, tilting her head as he wraps the blanket tighter around himself. Thing is- it’s not that he’s not used to the cold. He’s traveled all around, of course he’s been in places way colder than this. But that doesn’t mean he has to like it. The demiguise seems particularly worried, but Newt is more than happy to kind of... nuzzle into its soft fur.]

They like returning the favour, every now and then. [A bit of a sniff.] It’s rather cold.

[She propped a hand on hip in amusement, giving him a look.]

You have a suitcase filled with multiple habitats-- Why don't you just make it warmer?

[amoth]

[He glances at her, tilting his head. He gives her the same look he always gives everyone when he's confused.]

Because it's your home. It would be rude for me to change it, would it not?

[goldsteins]

[ She gives a small laugh, shaking her head. ]

Queenie's out, but she left breakfast if you want some.

[amoth]

[He blinks, then gives her a little smile before looking at his creatures.]

I think it's time for you to go back in. You'll probably be warmer inside, so don't complain much. [He then glances back at Tina.] Aren't you cold?

[goldsteins]

[ Tina gives half a shrug, brushing back some hair. ]

You get used to it.

[amoth]

[Newt blinks as he look at her. And then:] But why get used to it when you can get warmer?

[He motions to the spot next to him on the sofa.] There's more blankets. And more warm creatures.

[goldsteins]

[ She laughs with a shake of her head before carefully taking the motioned place next to him. ] They trust you, not me. Besides, I think you've stolen all of the blankets in the apartment.

[She's teasing... probably.]

[amoth]

[He smiles. Because he can tell (he hopes) that she's teasing and that probably means she's comfortable enough with him to do so. He still remembers his first conversations with Tina.] They would grow to trust you, as well.

And there happens to be an easy solution to that. [He opens his arms, making some space for her inside the blanket... fort... he's made for himself.]

[goldsteins]

You think? [There's an amused tremble to her voice. As if she wants to believe it but the idea seems satisfyingly silly at the same time--Like it wouldn't happen. But it's not until the next moment that she can't help but simply laugh.

Cheeks tinging merrily with embarrassment and amusement as she ducks her head. He was just like a rather large kid. Despite all notions of propriety or the way her heart tried to do a backflip in her chest-- or even the way she chewed down on bottom lip for a moment at the prospect-- the woman threw caution to the wind.

That is to say, after a few seconds of laughter, hesitation, and a look of fondness she relented. Tina moved carefully to take up the space beside him with a look of interest, not yet saying anything once she was settled.]

[amoth]

[He hadn’t expected her to accept, but he wouldn’t have asked if he hadn’t really wanted her to. So while he looked surprised, it was definitely a look of pleasant surprise as he shifted to make space for her on the couch.]

I do think. They are amazing judges of character. [He wrapped an arm around her, effectively wrapping them both with the blankets.] They will miss you.

[goldsteins]

[ She's surprised a herself, but not unwelcomingly so. Even as her cheeks seem to be on fire and there's not very much room on the couch at all, Tina doesn't seem to mind. Though she's careful to keep her hands to herself. Glancing up at him beneath a cloud of hair she shakes her head. ]

They hardly know me. [She's quiet, cheeks still tinged as she looks at the man more wholly.] But I'll miss them, too.

[A beat.] I'll miss you.

[amoth]

[Newt doesn't blush, no. Instead, Newt gets one of those smiles at the edge of his lips. The smile where he can't stop himself from smiling, the smile he usually only gets because he's with his creatures.]

I'll miss you too. [He admits, because it's true. And surprising. He finds himself finding people amusing, sometimes. But he hasn't really wanted to be around anyone else for a long period of time until... Leta, maybe.]

But you wouldn't miss me for long. I get annoying, eventually.

[goldsteins]

[ Tina laughs under her breath, mirth in her eyes. Her heart fluttering in betrayal at the smile he wore. She gave a small sigh before counteracting quickly: ]

Maybe I should say the same to you. But you're wrong, either way. I'll miss you, Newt. [She shrugged her shoulders.] You don't get to just come in with a case full of beasts and leave to be forgotten.

[At least, he thinks there's a Gotou inside there somewhere? The blanket lump practically takes up the whole futon. Monoyoshi doesn't hesitate to gently poke at the mass of blanket before leaning against the burrito, chin resting against his free hand.]

Maybe I'm mistaken and he's elsewhere? This might be a diversion. [He lowers himself, arms against the top of the burrito now.] Nighttime will be horribly lonely without him, isn't that right?

[Miharu tended to think that she comes up with good ideas. But maybe deciding to burrow herself into Akihiko's comforter and asking him to roll her up in it wasn't one of her best ones. It would have been fine if she were a little taller but alas, Miharu was petite and could have easily been swallowed up by all that fabric.]
