[ It was no deep-seated secret that the ruling house of Caelum enjoyed their rest. It never failed, whether they were born into the family or simply married into it like she was. It was understandable, she would argue. Even her daily schedule began almost the moment she woke up in the morning and ran until just before her head hit the pillow late into the night. And Aulea was only the Queen of Lucis. Regis had a far worse deal in the marriage.

And so, on days like to day, when the light of the coming dawn was soft and a silent calm had settled on the palace - when their duties or expectations hardly held a weight of importance to the well-being of the Kingdom - she had no qualms against letting her dear husband catch a few extra minutes of sleep. They came so rarely, and with so much trouble pushing in from their borders, he would need all the rest he could gain. That she, too, would be awarded more time for herself as well was only a benefit.

Honey-brown eyes peeking out from under the fan of long, dark lashes, the young Queen could not help but smile at the sight of him, looking. Face smoothed of all the care and worry that normally marred his face, he looked beautiful in the early light of dawn; almost as preciously handsome as he had their first night together after becoming husband and wife.

What did it mean that Red was so attached to him, anyway? She had almost torn that base apart trying to get to him. She responded to him across distances even Allura and Coran didn't know were possible. If Allura tried to replace him, would Red accept a new Paladin or would she resist?

And the nightmares... could he even trust himself?
