THE RANDOM SCENARIO MEME 3.0

- Post your character, name, and series in the subject. Include any preferences as well.
- Go to RNG and enter 1-6 for a scene type, and 1-20 for a scene to play out.

TYPE OF SCENE.
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.
④ Gun fight → You're caught in a big shoot-out.
⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
⑦ Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
⑧ Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?
⑨ Training → You're not actually fighting, just training for the inevitable.
⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑬ Fight for honor → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honour.
⑭ Showdown → Time for a cowboy-style showdown. Whoever draws the fastest wins.
⑮ War → You're caught in the middle of a war here. Remember to keep your chin up and keeping fighting.
⑯ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.

ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.
⑨ Fight → You can't even be in the same room as your friend or lover without arguing anymore.
⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.
⑳ Down and out → You're living on the streets, you've hit rock bottom, and you don't know what to do.

CRACK.
① Sexswap → Uh-oh, you're suddenly the opposite sex!
② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!
③ Mind-reading → You've suddenly got the ability to read minds!
④ Animal → You're suddenly part animal or transformed into an animal!
⑤ Awkward pick-up lines → You're compelled to use bad pickup lines on whoever is closest!

④ Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?
⑤ Wrong number → Oops, actually you didn't mean to call that person...
⑥ Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?

[ Whether she was in the process of tumbling over or Shiro's gesture prevents it, Hana lets out a little yelp, followed by what sounds like the Korean equivalent of "oops" when his arm wraps protectively around her. And she blinks for a few seconds as what Shiro says registers in her mind. ]

Ah! My bad!

[ But she laughs, shaking her head. ]

Thanks for the save, Shiro. We wouldn't want your grandma to get the wrong idea, huh?

[ Straightening herself out, she starts once more. Walking, this time, and reaching for Shiro's hand again. ]

[He sets her back on her feet and gives her his hand, more than willing to walk with her, still chuckling a little in the back of his throat.

He is never going to complain about the way she embraces her enjoyment whole-heartedly. It's one of the many things he loves about her.]

That's right. [He agrees.] She's never stop grinning if we did.

[And then they're in the park entrance and there are tables and stands and booths set up and dozens of different food scents in the air and - Shiro pretty much simply let's Hana take the lead and follows next to her. No one's going to charge them for whatever she wants. She can pretty much take as much as the two of them can carry.]

[ And take, she will, although it might be more accurate to say receive, she will; between her recognizable face and it being Shiro's hometown, where many of the food vendors are longtime friends of grandmother's or simply know of the Shiroganes, the two of them walk away with lots of free food having been shoved in their general direction by the excited locals. By the time they've got armfuls each, they've got takoyaki, a few kinds of yakitori, yakisoba, and dango to start with.

And Hana looks utterly pleased with the haul. She looks up at Shiro, eyes gleaming in excitement, the smile on her face absolutely irrepressible . ]

[ Either way they need to find a spot, like, yesterday, so she can sit and chow down. ]

[That happy excitement and joy on her face is absolutely irrepressible and he trails along next to her utterly caught in the bubble of her happiness. He's long since had to let go of her hand, just so that she can touch everything - and he can carry the growing load of food and -

and he can't seem to stop smiling like a love struck fool.

Which he is.

When she finally finishes her first round and looks up at him, all effervescent joy, he doesn't resist, leaning down to steal a quick kiss despite the crowds and the familiar faces.]

I know a spot.

[It's a little out of the way, a little apart from the main section of the fair but its still on the bank of the small river with a good view of cherry trees and hanging lanterns. There's already a blanket spread out and - of course there is. It's his family's usual spot even if they haven't been back here in years and he's not surprised at all to recognize the blanket as one of his mother's. He sits down on it and puts his back to the tree, finding the familiar spot between its roots is still the same as well. He knows this is for Hana but... the memories come back strong for him, sitting this way, just in this spot and he suspects, maybe, his family did it for him too. He props up one of his legs and gestures to the spot against it, setting aside some of the food so he can hold out a hand to help her with hers.]

Come on. Perfect spot, just for you.

[ At this point in the evening she's almost expecting Shiro to be leaning down for a kiss whenever there's the slightest lull in their activities-- and she welcomes each of those kisses gladly, closing her eyes each time and returning them soundly. This time is no different.

And to the point, once they've found their spot (which happens to have a blanket on it? okay) Hana doesn't sit down just yet. Instead, she holds her arms out to keep the food she's holding out of the way and bends down at her waist to plant another kiss on Shiro's lips as the floral cascade in her hair dangles down and brushes lightly across his skin.

She can hear excited murmurs from the few people in this part of the park. She doesn't care.

When Hana pulls away it's with a smirk on her lips as she brings her arms in, handing Shiro some of the food she'd been holding and finally taking her seat with his propped-up leg acting as her backrest; her own legs are stretched out forward and together before she shifts, bending her knees with her feet to one side. ]

Hey, nice spot! It even had a blanket down already.

[He wonders if she knows what having her hair fall down around him does to him? And he resists the urge to reach up, bury his fingers in it and tug her down for a longer kiss. Later. He promises himself that kiss later and instead dutifully takes the food she offers and sets it aside next to his. Once she's settled he leans forward.]

This is where my family always sits for the festival. [Leaning across her, he lifts a corner of the blanket and holds it for her. Because he's positive it smells like the laundry soap his mother uses for everything else including the dress she's wearing.] Smell it and tell me where the blanket came from.

[ She gives a few blinks at the gesture before she leans in and takes a light sniff--

And that definitely smells like the yukata she's wearing. And all of the other ones that grandmother showed and had Hana try on earlier in the day. The realization flashes across her face as excitement and she nods enthusiastically. ]

Your house! [ Then she huffs a laugh, half disbelief and half flattered. ] Don't tell me they went and set this blanket up for us!

[ But her laugh trails off after that, and the smile on her lips turns fond. She really, really hasn't had people putting in so much effort for her birthday in a long time. Effort that didn't involve scheduling appearances and having a more public birthday activity that felt more like work than anything else. ]

Honestly, you Shiroganes... you guys are such nerds...

[She guesses it right away, the way he knew she would - and then he gets to watch the emotions chase across her face over everything that means. Tender, he cups her cheek and leans down.]

Nerds, huh? I think that's Hana-speak for saying you like us.

[ The touch of Shiro's hand on her cheek just adds to the growing warmth in her cheeks, and she doesn't have to see herself in a mirror to know that she's probably blushing something fierce; her gaze shifts down, carefully made-up eyes go half-lidded, and she bites on her almost gloss-less lip. Warmth blooms in her chest, as well, that same feeling she'd been getting around Shiro for-- god, it'll have been exactly a year very soon, won't it-- and she feels her heart picking up the pace.

Hana's been through a lot over the last year and some change. Being in Overwatch has changed her life -- changed the way she's seen things in the world. But-- Shiro, too. Maybe most of all Shiro. It's amazing how much he became a part of her life when she wasn't sure there'd be much to their meeting beyond the lantern parade. She can't imagine what it would have been like now, if they went their separate ways after that. If he hadn't been there to help stop Talon at the Shimoto building; if he hadn't kept her company on long nights working even when he was so far, far away into space; if he hadn't come back to her and given her all of the things that are so, so precious to her now; if he hadn't been there at the gala to keep her company and talk to her about the stars and if he hadn't then taken her to the stars. If he hadn't been there during that mission, been there for her when her own burdens were weighing down on her, even when his own were doing the same.

If he wasn't here right now celebrating what, honestly, could be her last birthday. Hana Song is a soldier. Soon she'll be off to a mission and even in all of her confidence, there's still stark reality telling her, a trooper with two years of military under her belt now, that she'd be an idiot to think herself invincible. But Shiro makes her feel like she could be. ]

... Yeah. Nerds. You're lucky I love you so much.

[He expects the affirmation. Hana doesn't hide her affection or deny it and he already knows she adores his family. And that the feelings mutual. So he's already leaning down to kiss her, intent on a much longer, sweeter one than the stolen ones so far when -

inches from hers, his lips stop. His eyes open.

And his heart take a single, painful thud inside his chest. Because:]

Say that again?

[ Her eyes flutter open to meet his when he pauses. He seems surprised.

It's not that weird of her to say it, is it? So she repeats her words with the ease of someone who thinks, well, duh, I love you even when she'd been so slow to come to that realization. She's not even entirely aware of just how slow she had been. ]

I said you're lucky I love you so much.

[ And even for how casually she seems to say it, there's not a hint of her joking around or taking this lightly. She simply states it like it's a fact. ]

[Whether she's aware she's been slow about it or not, Shiro certainly is. Except he hasn't thought of it as slow so much as... 'still getting there'. Just because he's the type to make up his mind fairly quickly when he's sure of something, doesn't mean he expects anyone else to. So Hana's drawn out approach to whether she loves him or not -

he'd honestly expected to have to wait much longer before she was sure she was in love with him.

Except now she says it so easily and with such casual confidence - he wonders when it happened. And how he missed it.

His throat tightens and the bands close tight around his chest but it feels like his heart is swelling too large anyway. The stupid smile starts, stops, starts again and he pulls back just enough to meet her eyes without taking his hand away. His voice is husky - and somehow a little young too.]

You love me?

[ It happened when he took her to the moon soaring into the stars in the Black Lion, when he took her to worlds she would've only ever seen in movies and video games, when he'd been at her side after the mission. But it also happened in between, and those perhaps were the most formative moments-- because it also happened when she watched him piloting and leading Voltron and over stolen glances at each other across the table while eating with the rest of his space-family and it also happened in the thick of battle when all she'd wanted so badly was to protect him and bring him back to her and it happened when she couldn't stop thinking about him after that too, of all the ways she just wanted to make things better for him and it happened in text messages and phone calls and it's happening right here, right now under the cherry blossoms.

Shiro might have missed it because it's not Hana's style, to build up into a grand declaration of love. She'd rather get to the point. As in-- ]

Uh-huh. I love you. [ once more, simply, like it's a matter of fact, and then her voice drops, too. ] Now hurry up and kiss me already, Takashi.

[The sound he exhales sounds a little like a 'huh' and a little like a laugh and maybe, just a little, damp too. But then he hums and he's not about to deny her, not when she says his name and wants something so simple. So his other hand slips up so he can cradle her face between both of them, living metal and warm skin, and he leans down and kisses her, long and slow and heart deep.

Hana Song loves him. Hana Song loves him. Hana Song loves him. It's in every beat of his heart in his chest and the joy of it spills over into the kiss as well.]

[ Like clockwork, her eyes slip shut when she feels his lips on hers and she lifts her hands, wraps her fingers around both human and metal wrists of his and her touch is light but certain. And she kisses him back resolutely lips matching the movements of his at every turn, matching its slow tenderness, matching its warmth.

Even for how casually she'd said it, the warm feeling in her chest gives way to something more electric, free, and delightful.

Now, for sure, she can say that what it had felt like to fly through the stars in Black for the very first time definitely feels like falling in love. ]

[The lanterns have become the only man-made illumination by the time they start back, painting all the blossoms on the trees in translucent gold. The stands long ago closed up but they're not the only ones making their way slowly out of the park, couples and people on their own quietly headed home like drifting shadows.

Shiro's lost track of how many times Hana's reapplied her lip gloss and he suspects its just as much to keep laying it on him as it is for herself.

He doesn't mind at all.

But finally there are no more snacks to eat, the stars have all come out and he knows that they should head back, a little bit of chill still in the air without the sun to ward it off. He drapes the folded blanket over one arm and keeps the other around Hana as they start back and -

and she loves. She loves him. He's torn between wanting to shout it to the world and wanting to hold it tight against his chest in silence. Hana Song loves him. He leans down, presses a kiss to her hair as they walk.]

Happy birthday, koibito.

[ Hana has fond memories of walking to school under cherry blossoms (not that she paid any sort of attention at school) and more recently of watching the petals fall along railroad tracks and across streams and all that, but-- this definitely topped her list of cherry blossom memories. And contrary to what Hana already feels might be circulating around the net about the two of them-- they did spend time watching the blossoms. In between all of the eating and kissing.

She's only a little disappointed when Shiro decides they need to head back; she thinks the night is going to end soon and with that comes the morning and-- Shiro will be gone soon. She'll be off soon, too. But she doesn't let it show except in the way she slips her own arm around him as they walk which might make things a little awkward on the mobility side but-- she wants to hold him in any way that she can, while she still can.

And so she smiles to herself when she feels the press of his lips on her head. She should probably say something romantic or cheesy like Shiro would in response to what he says. But what she says instead is this: ]

Ah, man, I'm so full! We ate so much. But everything was so yummy.

[ She sighs, smiling. ] Best birthday ever. Thanks, Shiro. [ and then it takes a teasing edge. ] Or should I start calling you jagiya now?

[Her happiness is a mirror, making his own even brighter and knowing he's made her happy... that's a treasure all by itself. He can feel it in his chest. It feels as wide as the entire starry sky. But his eyebrows do go up at her question and he suspects enough that his lips slip into a lopsided smile but - just to be sure:]

Jagiya? I'm only starting to learn Korean, Hana. What does that mean?

[ She gives him her signature wink and with her free hand she holds up a finger to her lips, like she's telling him a secret. ]

It means "honey!" [ And then she giggles, because-- ] It's kinda cheesy. Like you.

[ She pauses, though, when she realizes something he's said-- ]

You're learning Korean?

[It's possibly silly how good her calling him an endearment feels. Like a burst of happiness going off inside his chest and he inhales and the goofy grin spreads wide across his face. He pulls her closer against his side for a moment to press another kiss, this one to her temple.]

I like cheesy.

Hm. [A moment later and then, slowly and with an accent but surprisingly clearly, he says, in Korean:]

Speak slowly, please. I'm still learning Korean.[A pause and then a flashing grin.] Where is the library? ah! and - [and he proceed to rattle off three curse words very distinctly, that she might recognize from earlier this evening when she'd first stumbled into the room he was kneeling in.]

[ The look that appears across her face when she hears him speaking in her native tongue is--

one of pure delight and Shiro's not the only one wearing a wide, goofy grin.

He's been learning Korean. And she's assuming that it's expressly because of her and maybe not that he'd been learning it before-- that's not too cocky to think, is it? When has she ever cared about being cocky about something, anyway?

She nods along as he speaks, honestly quite impressed with how clearly he's managing to pronounce the words even though there's a slight accent and her smile turns fond at the library question because-- he would learn that. She's about to respond in kind with a "You're pretty good!" in Korean but when he drops the same expletives she had earlier-- she just laughs. A free, hearty, no-holds-barred laugh. And she brings her other arm up to wrap around him and hug him tightly as she does. ]

Hey, where'd you learn those words, potty mouth! [ As if she hadn't been the one to say them earlier. And then: ] Saranghae, Shiro.

[He's learning Korean because of her. He's learning Korean for her. Slowly. Very slowly thanks to the way the rest of his life usually goes but he's determined.

And to watch that look spread across her face its worth it. More than worth it.

Her laughter might as well be the stars coming out in the sky.

And when she hugs him, he wraps his own arms around her and lifts her lightly off her feet, leaning in to press his face to her hair before pulling back with a grin and setting her on her feet again. Her words steal his heart away and his face softens then and he reaches up to stroke his fingers along her cheek.]

I think I know that means. I love you too, Hana Song.

[ A little yelp escapes when he lifts her, causing her grip on him to tighten, but soon enough the surprise gives way to more laughter. Tonight really has been just awesome-- soon it'll come to an end and they'll say their goodbyes, but--

Not yet.

When he sets her back down, she pulls her arms away if only so she can rest her hands against his chest, her fingers tracing along the fabric of the collar of his attire just as his trace her cheek. She feels like the biggest winner right now. How on earth did this happen between a professional gamer turned military mech pilot-slash-superhero and an ace pilot turned space mech pilot-slash-leader of a galactic rebellion? Regardless of the answer, Hana is so filled with a fierce sort of happiness that's determined to persist for as long as it can. Through the night. Through to the morning when they part ways. To the point that she can't help her confident but affectionate response: ]

I know.

What's the game plan now, Takashi Shirogane? Because there's no way I'm going home now.

[He inhales deep when her fingers smooth over his chest and his hand lifts to stroke over her hair. Her touch has him wanting to go in for another kiss. This moment has him wanting to go in for another kiss. And another and another. He can't get enough of her, any of her, but the fact that she loves him -

it turns everything up the dial.

He smiles at her 'I know' though. He's be worried if she didn't already know. He doesn't say the words often but he does his best to show them. Cradling the back of her head in his palm, he admits:]

I'd keep you all to myself all night if I could but I feel like I should let my family have some time with you too. They did all this after all. So I guess we go home now and maybe there's cake if we can find room for it and then we'll spend some time with them. For a little while until I get sneak you off at least. [He has to leave in the morning, crack of dawn, but... he doesn't need sleep before then. Not like he needs her.]

[ She didn't know at first, surely, and for the longest time, but-- once she became aware of her own feelings she became very, very aware of Shiro's. Or at the very least, she hopes he isn't quite as cheesy with other people as the way that he is with her.

But-- his answer isn't quite what she wants to hear. Because she wishes he would keep her to himself all night. Shiro's parents and grandmother aren't going anywhere, as far as she's concerned. She'll make time to visit them now and then whenever she's sent to Hanamura for work. But Shiro--

Shiro is leaving to space in some hours and now she's seen firsthand the kinds of battles he fights out there in the Black Lion and in Voltron and even on his own two feet. The young, bright and optimistic person in her believes that he'll do well. He'll be alright. But the soldier in her knows that sometimes things don't go the way you'd like them to despite your best efforts.

But she can't bring herself to voice her thoughts, because she also knows that Shiro's family means a lot to him and spending time with them is just as much for him as he says it is for her.

Luckily Hana's pretty good at not sleeping because she's not planning on getting any this evening.

While her lips had drawn into a thin line, she now manages a small smile for him and her hands trail up to his shoulders. ]

I always have room for cake! But promise me we'll sneak away before your grandmother starts talking about the good old days, okay? [ she'll thrown in a wink there, too. ]
