Either way, you're sharing a flat (or maybe even a room) now! What's going to happen?

Boxes. So. Many. Boxes. Whether you're moving in or out, they've got to go. Is your roommate willing to lend a hand?

Not only are you sharing a living space, you're sharing space with an animal. There could be allergies, behavioral issues, or an unexpected exercise partner. Most importantly, do you have to hide them from the super? Hmm, maybe not the fishtank.

Could be a party, could be a significant other that seems to have moved in... you just weren't expecting company tonight.

Is there anything worse than paper thin walls and a noisy flatmate? You can hear everything they're doing... even (or especially) the TMI.

[There were a pair of hot pink star sunglasses and she quickly placed them on her face. Hopefully they'll cover her red cheeks well enough.]

I think these are good. Y-you know. They go with the look.
Maybe my hair like yours? Pigtails?

[Making Neon happy was starting to win out and maybe they could find a compromise.]

[Neon's eyes were practically sparkling. This was working out way better than she could have ever dreamed.]

Oh my gosh yes! It would be so adorable! Maybe add a splash of color to that brown head of yours, too! I'll call my girl up; she'll get you right in.

[And she's already reaching for her scroll. Speak now or forever hold your peace.]

[She gently touches Neon's wrist.]

Clips. Clips are good. Right?

[Velvet's just mentally imaging herself with purple hair and even she'd laugh at herself.]

[Maybe she was pushing a little too much too fast. Best to back down before she scared her away.]

Clips are rad! Let's see...

[She flicked through the rack, holding up clip after clip to Velvet's hair. She broke into a huge grin when she found the perfect one. She pointed to a mirror so Velvet could see the poofy pink ribbon she had found and placed at the base of her left bunny ear. She was bouncing again.]

Wearing a colorful tank top and mini skirt, star sunglasses, and a giant ribbon.
She looked better fitted to sing about holding tiny dancers.]

It's... [a sigh] it's nice.

[So cute! Now if she could only convince her to get a pair of skates, the two of them would be ready to paint the town. But hearing that sigh, Neon's smile faltered.]

You don't actually like it, do you?

I'm just scared, you know, people will make fun of me.

[That was seriously her only worry. If she could get over that, she'd even wear skates and everything.]

Who cares what they think? Live for yourself, that's what I say! And if they laugh at you I'll beat 'em up.

[She punched her fist into her other hand as a promise. Velvet should be fine; no one ever laughed at Neon. That might have something to do with her confidence, though.]

But hey, it's cool. It's not for everyone. We can hit up your usual joint  and find something there. And if you ever want to live a little you can always borrow my clothes.

[With how Neon was, Velvet was 80% sure she could kick some behind.]

Well... maybe... maybe I can borrow your clothes first and see how it goes?

[She shifts slightly and points to the bow.]

But, um, we can get this? A compromise?

[To say she was beaming would be an understatement. She squealed and hugged Velvet, squeezing her a little before letting go and taking the bow from her.]

Yes! Of course! Anytime you want to borrow something, just let me know! I'm going to go pay for this, so go change.

[Inability to complain aside, Neon was fun and friendly and a good roommate.
Different, but a good roommate.]

Do you want to eat something here? I can pay for lunch if you want to go to your sushi place.

...and I can wear the bow. To-to get used to it.

[The bow didn't match her outfit at all, but Neon was too excited to care. Her goal from the get-go had been to take Velvet out for a fun girl's day and maybe loosen her up a little. She called this a rousing success.]

Sushi sounds awesome! And after that we can go wherever you want. Do you need help putting the bow back in your hair?

[dustbun]

Yeah. I-I liked how you did it.

[Although first things first as she awkwardly shifts a bit.]

Just, um, let me change first. Okay?

[nyankatt]

No problem! I'll go pay, so meet me at the register if you're ready before I am, 'kay?

[She winked and was off without waiting for a reply, a trail of rainbows following in her wake as she darted across the store.]

[Velvet's never going to get used to that. Oh well.
She goes off to get changed and returns to find Neon at the registers.]

[Buying the bow didn't take long, but apparently Velvet had been faster. Hopefully she hadn't seen the cute bunny button she had thrown in the bag - she figured it was small enough that Velvet might actually wear it or throw it on her book bag. That it matched her cat one was purely coincidental. Purely.

She put her wallet away and turned back to Velvet.]

Wanna race?

[She winked, knowing Velvet probably wouldn't go for it.]

[She'd notice, but she'd wear it on her bag.
As a little reminder of their friendship.]

Don't-don't you think that's a bit dangerous?

Dangerous is just another word for fun! You need to learn to let loose a little.

[She doesn't mean it in a bad way, but it's true. Velvet was way too self-conscious.]

[A pause, twisting her face and getting into a running stance.]

[Neon's eyes widened. Did she just..? Neon grinned, not sure what sparked this sudden change and not caring, before assuming her own position.]

Ready? On your mark... get set... go!

[And she was off. She had the advantage that she could outrun mall security (they'd given up on catching her long ago). Hopefully Velvet could, too.]

[Don't underestimate a rabbit's fear.

In this case, fear of getting in trouble with security.

Velvet's still too much of a pushover to not get roped into Neon's antics which is what made her play this incredibly stupid stunt.

Although give her credit, Velvet's very fast and while she's not as fast as Neon's skates, she can keep up pretty well.]

[Neon flashed a smile as Velvet tried to catch up to her. Not bad. Knowing the place by heart, she was skating backwards, occasionally checking over her shoulder for pedestrians. On one of her checks she spotted a security guard ahead. Not a problem for her, but she wasn't sure about Velvet.

She made the snap decision to switch directions and grabbed Velvet's hand, tugging her behind a plant and pulling her close to keep her out of sight.]

You're pretty fast!

[dustbun]

[Velvet's feet came off the ground as Neon pulled her closer, making Velvet blush. While it was a tiny bit thrilling, she was more fearful of getting in trouble than anything.

Neon however, seemed to be having a blast.]

Can... do you mind if we get something to eat now?

[nyankatt]

[Neon laughed. It was adorable how anxious Velvet was over something so trivial as getting caught running in the mall.]

Yeah, of course. Oh, I almost forgot to put your bow back in!

[She took the bow out of the bag and fixed it back into place before stepping back to admire her work.]

There we go! Much better!
