Sometimes department stores have clothes I like, but you're right. I'm not one to spend money on clothes.

[Gently she tugs on Neon's hand, taking a deep breath and looking up to smile.]

[Neon didn't understand. How could anyone not find Velvet adorable? The whole shy thing really jut accentuated her charm.]

[Velvet had gigantic rabbit ears that of course were the center of attention.]

[Neon couldn't believe what she was hearing, sushi completely forgotten.]

[She ever so gently tugs on Neon's arm.]

[Neon didn't want to drop it, but it was clear Velvet was getting uncomfortable. They could would revisit this once they got home. Maybe she'd more more open about it when they were in private.]

Does that mean I can get the bunny one?

They have veggie rolls that I like a lot.

[Neon stiffened, blushing, and if Velvet's hearing was sensitive enough she would hear Neon mutter something under her breath that sounded an awful lot like "I'll make them make them." She turned her attention to the sushi bar.]

Excuse me! My friend here wants a veggie roll shaped like a cat. You'll totes do that, right?

[She heard it and Velvet was ready to tug on Neon's hand again. Not so much to stop her, but more to express embarrassment. Neon with a rabbit roll and Velvet with a cat roll? Wouldn't someone think something?]

[Of course, if she had let things slide it might not have been too obvious, but Velvet pressed against Neon's shoulder could easily be mistaken for her concern.]
