SLAVES
1. The Newbie - This is your very first auction and you don't quite know what to expect. Hopefully you remember your training and don't disgrace yourself in front of your new master. Hopefully someone thinks you're worth buying at all.
2. The Oldtimer - You've been bought and sold and bought again so many times. You've seen it all before and don't think this time is going to be much different. In fact, the only real anxiety you've got is whether or not someone's going to pay for a more than slightly used slave.
3. The Pet - You're a pleasure slave. A bed warmer. A decorative piece of artwork. You're meant to look pretty and be pleasing and not much else.
4. The Guard - Your master hired you because of your ability to swing a sword or shoot a gun, not your looks.
5. The Escape Artist - Somehow you always manage to squirm out of your master's chains. Too bad you seem to get caught after a while. Maybe your next daring escape will be permanent. Then again, maybe your next master has special ways of keeping you locked up.
6. The Undercover - You aren't a slave at all, you're just pretending to be one. Why? Well that's up to you. Either way, your cover is blown if you don't act the part.
7. The Specialist - You have a skill that no one else has. Something rare and valuable. Something your master needs more than anything else.
MASTERS
1. The Customer - You've owned slaves before and this trip to the market is nothing new to you. Still, you're hoping to find something worth your while.
2. The Gift - Someone bought a pet for you, isn't that nice of them? Or maybe it isn't so nice. Did you even want a slave in the first place? Well you're stuck with one now.
3. The Giver - You're selecting a slave for someone else, and they need to be perfect. Perhaps you'd better test them out first to make sure you're getting your money's worth.
4. The Trainer - You specialize in taming unruly slaves and making them over into perfect, obedient, well-trained pets.
5. The Rebel - You hate the idea of slavery, but the system isn't going to go away any time soon, so the next best thing is to buy up any slave you can get your hands on and free them, right?
6. The Companion - You want someone to be with you always, someone you can talk to and depend on, someone who will never leave your side. It's a good thing that money can buy that these days.
7. The Undercover - You're not actually a Master. You're at the auction for an entirely different reason. Maybe it's special policework, maybe you're trying to hunt down a certain someone. Either way, your cover is blown unless you act the part.
As always, feel free to use a combination of scenarios or make up your own if you have other ideas.

After ordering, he watched the scenery go by, content with the quiet. He was with his master now.
He only took his new plush inside, holding them close as he gaped around at the fancy lobby, though followed close behind Hanzo. It was quite luxurious. With no shoes to step out of, he hesitated before stepping onto the hardwood floor. His hooves clip-clopped lightly along it. He'd definitely need those socks in the future to avoid scratching everything up.
For now, he was just cautious and stayed on the carpet as much as possible. The place was quite lovely, he could hardly ask for a better home.

Sure enough, there was a knock on the door only a few minutes later, and it was the porter, the bags of shopping in a wheeled cart. He hardly blinked at Vincent, obviously used to pets having the run of the house. "Where do you want the bags?" he asked, starting to unpack the cart, waving away any attempt at helping Vincent might have made.
no subject
It was okay. He was an unexpected gift and Hanzo had had a lot on his plate today. It wouldn't always be like this.
He hoped.
Setting the two plush down on the sofa, he wandered around a bit before he heard the knock and he trotted to the door to open it up. He did try to help but the porter waved him off so he stopped.
"I'm not sure, I guess over there" he said pointing to the couch.
The fact the guy didn't glance twice at him though did say a lot...Had Hanzo had pets before?
He handed over the money telling him it was all for him no change as Hanzo instructed.
After the man left, he unpacked their food. Everything smelled amazing. He plated it up, able to quickly find plates and cutlery in the kitchen, and though clean, it looked as though it'd rarely been used. Hanzo must eat out a lot, he thought, setting up their food at the low table and managed to find and start to make some tea by the time Hanzo reappeared.
no subject
"Are you making tea?" he asked, surprise obvious in his voice.
Out of the suit, it was easy to see just how muscular he was, and there was a dragon tattoo curling around his left arm, its head opened in a snarl at his wrist.
Hanzo was used to eating out of the takeout containers while working on something or another, not having it plated neatly at the table with fresh tea made for him. It was not expected but also not unwelcome. "Thank you," he said, then settled down at the table cross-legged to eat.
no subject
Oh my. He stared a bit longer than necessary at Hanzo's lovely chest and the beautiful dragon tattoo on his arm.
He snapped himself out of it at the thank you and he nodded again, tail giving a small happy flutter, glad he'd gone the little extra mile to prep things.
The deer poured them both steaming cups before digging into the hot food. It was quite delicious. Spicy, but not overwhelming.
They ate and drank in silence a bit before Vincent brought up what had been on his mind since the porter came.
"Have you...had pets before?" he asked
no subject
Hanzo took a sip of his tea. It was alright, but not exactly how he liked it. Vincent would probably learn, though, if Hanzo taught him how he liked his tea.
"I am simply too busy. I spend very little time here," he gestured to the apartment. "I think this is the first time I have sat at this table eating off of a plate in... months, maybe." He took a bite of his Thai.
no subject
He stiffened a little at that last part. "Health and history are known". Maybe not so much for a certain deer in the room.
He'd learn how to make it how Hanzo liked, it'd been awhile since he made tea himself so a little practice and nudging from Hanzo would likely find the time far more satisfactory.
The place was dusted so obviously someone came in to clean up, which of course did mean a caretaker would be needed if he was to remain here on his own.
But Vincent would be content if not happier to be with Hanzo at the office until then though.

He scooped the last of his food into his mouth and pushed his plate away from him. "Let me find you a few blankets and a pillow." He stood and headed back towards the bathroom to the hall closet, poking through it until he came out with a few heavy blankets and an armful of pillows. "There's more pillows and blankets if you need, help yourself." He gestured to the closet. "Also the bathroom, my bedroom, the office, and the workout room." He pointed each direction.

"I...I'm not sleeping with you?" He asked. Even if their relationship never turned sexual, it was normal for the pet to sleep beside the master or mistress, especially if the human had no partner. This helped settle the pet into its new life as well as helped bond pet and owner together. Kept stress down for both parties too.
There was no scientific proof that keeping your pet out of your bed was negative for them, after all, married couples didn't sleep with a pet in the bed too. But they were alone. And, unknown to Hanzo, Vincent slept beside his mistress all the time so he'd come to expect it.
The fact he was being pushed to sleep on the couch was...disappointing.
no subject
"Is that... something you want?" It seemed like an odd thing to ask for, but it wasn't like they were going to have sex. "I'm not home every night, it might be easier to just sleep on your own." But there was no real reason to relegate Vincent to the couch, and it probably wasn't all that comfortable to be stuck there anyways.
no subject
"Yes." He nodded. It was better to sleep beside him sometimes than not at all.
The idea of being banished to the couch would seem unfair too. He knew his master was a busy man but this small allowance would mean the man actually cared to have him around.
no subject
"If you want to take a shower or bath, go ahead. I'm going to work on some emails."
no subject
Happily, he cleaned up, sticking any leftovers in the fridge and loading the dishwasher with their plates and utensils before going to take a bath.
He preferred baths because last time he took a shower, he slipped and fell. His backside was not a pretty sight after that. He made a mental note to get a rubber mat to put in so that he could take showers though, as a bath took a lot of time and water.
The new soaps he and James picked out were lovely, he scrubbed and combed and brushed the facility off of him, drying himself off by rubbing himself down. Hairdryers were noisy and he didn't like them much, but his fur dried quickly.
Putting on his new pajamas he headed for the bedroom. Hanzo had yet to come in so he crawled in under the covers on the side of the bed without the nightstand beside it. Curling up, he closed his eyes, though didn't fall asleep until Hanzo joined him.

It was well after midnight, on the way to 2 AM, when he finally made his way to bed. He paused in the doorway. Vincent was curled on his side, the tips of his little hooves poking out from the edge of the bed.
Hanzo sighed and shook his head. How had this become his life? He turned on his lamp, then turned off the hall light and slipped into bed.
He was thoroughly unused to having somebody else in his bed, but it had been an extremely long day which made falling asleep easy.
A spare three hours later, his alarm was going off.
Hanzo rolled out of bed easily enough, heading out into the kitchen to start a kettle of water for tea.
no subject
And then it seemed like an instant later Hanzo was up again. So little sleep! No wonder he was grumpy!
He got up a bit more slowly, stretching his legs and yawning widely as he rustled around for clothes. Tugging them on, he followed Hanzo into the kitchen.
"You came to bed so late." he said, giving himself a shake to wake up a bit more.
no subject
Hanzo's morning was usually starting tea while using the bathroom, then tea and toast, working out, shower, then work. There was plenty of time in there for Vincent to keep sleeping.
no subject
Could have said something last night! Oh well, at least he was dressed and ready for when Hanzo did leave.
He returned to bed with a shrug, but instead of settling back where he had, he curled up in the still warm spot where Hanzo lay. He was growing accustomed to his smell.
He was out like a light once more.

He did his best with his hair but the cowlick in the back remained no matter what he did.
Vincent took only the extra time to grab a book from the bag before they headed out. The ride to the office was uneventful. Vincent wondered if life with Hanzo would always be this routine. Perhaps for awhile, until whatever related to his father was dealt with and Hanzo was far less bogged down.
But from the look of his apartment, perhaps not. Hardly came home James said. He tried to keep the low thoughts out his head. These things took time. And he'd come into Hanzo's life at a rough moment. Patience.
"Maybe we can go to the park this weekend?" he suggested warmly as they rode the elevator up to the office. The weather was turning a little chilly as fall settled in, would be nice to get some time outdoors while they could.
Sorry for the delay! Got caught up in a new muse lol
its ok C:
The elevator doors opened and Vincent followed Hanzo to his office, passing many curious eyes as the morning shift had yet to see the boss's new pet. He stuck close and then settled down on the couch quietly to wait for James to bring breakfast and keep out of Hanzo's way while he got his morning set up.
no subject
He headed for the door, knocking gently to announce his presence. "Morning Hanzo, morning Vincent! Here's your paperwork for the morning, Hanzo. Should I bring in some breakfast?"
"Please," Hanzo said, taking the folders and starting to sort through them.
"Coffee or tea?"
"Tea, please. And whatever Vincent wants."
James nodded and turned to Vincent. "Coffee or tea? And do you want hot breakfast or cold?" He took the other set of folders that Hanzo passed him from his briefcase without even turning to look.
no subject
"Hot please" he replied, tail fluttering again but before James went he got up and asked, "Can you check Master Hanzo's schedule for the weekend? I was hoping we could go to the park together if he's not busy." he said.
no subject
Hanzo sighed and sat back in his chair. He watched James move for a few moments, then picked up one of the file folders. "Did you sleep well?" he asked, glancing up at Vincent.
Really, he still wasn't quite sure what to think about Vincent. The deer was not as bad as he could have been - Vincent seemed intelligent, and interested in being unobtrusive, but also was seeking his attention. Which was probably normal. Pets were designed to want their owner's attention and affection, right?
It was really too bad that Hanzo was not an overtly affectionate man. He was not given to bold statements or acts of emotion, either. Perhaps in time, it would become simply cruel to keep Vincent and not give him what he needed. But he seemed to like James, and James liked him in return, so possibly that could fill some of Vincent's needs.
no subject
"Better than I have in awhile actually." he admitted. "Its nice to sleep beside someone again."
At the facility you only could only curl up with others of your kin, so that in the event you went into heat you didn't mix breeds. There were no other deer.
He got up off the couch and came over to Hanzo, checking out what was on his desk, but most of what he could glance at was way over his head. He sat down on the floor beside the desk, out of the way of having his fingers or tail run over by the chair, but closer to Hanzo.
