SLAVES
1. The Newbie - This is your very first auction and you don't quite know what to expect. Hopefully you remember your training and don't disgrace yourself in front of your new master. Hopefully someone thinks you're worth buying at all.
2. The Oldtimer - You've been bought and sold and bought again so many times. You've seen it all before and don't think this time is going to be much different. In fact, the only real anxiety you've got is whether or not someone's going to pay for a more than slightly used slave.
3. The Pet - You're a pleasure slave. A bed warmer. A decorative piece of artwork. You're meant to look pretty and be pleasing and not much else.
4. The Guard - Your master hired you because of your ability to swing a sword or shoot a gun, not your looks.
5. The Escape Artist - Somehow you always manage to squirm out of your master's chains. Too bad you seem to get caught after a while. Maybe your next daring escape will be permanent. Then again, maybe your next master has special ways of keeping you locked up.
6. The Undercover - You aren't a slave at all, you're just pretending to be one. Why? Well that's up to you. Either way, your cover is blown if you don't act the part.
7. The Specialist - You have a skill that no one else has. Something rare and valuable. Something your master needs more than anything else.
MASTERS
1. The Customer - You've owned slaves before and this trip to the market is nothing new to you. Still, you're hoping to find something worth your while.
2. The Gift - Someone bought a pet for you, isn't that nice of them? Or maybe it isn't so nice. Did you even want a slave in the first place? Well you're stuck with one now.
3. The Giver - You're selecting a slave for someone else, and they need to be perfect. Perhaps you'd better test them out first to make sure you're getting your money's worth.
4. The Trainer - You specialize in taming unruly slaves and making them over into perfect, obedient, well-trained pets.
5. The Rebel - You hate the idea of slavery, but the system isn't going to go away any time soon, so the next best thing is to buy up any slave you can get your hands on and free them, right?
6. The Companion - You want someone to be with you always, someone you can talk to and depend on, someone who will never leave your side. It's a good thing that money can buy that these days.
7. The Undercover - You're not actually a Master. You're at the auction for an entirely different reason. Maybe it's special policework, maybe you're trying to hunt down a certain someone. Either way, your cover is blown unless you act the part.
As always, feel free to use a combination of scenarios or make up your own if you have other ideas.

Could have said something last night! Oh well, at least he was dressed and ready for when Hanzo did leave.
He returned to bed with a shrug, but instead of settling back where he had, he curled up in the still warm spot where Hanzo lay. He was growing accustomed to his smell.
He was out like a light once more.

He did his best with his hair but the cowlick in the back remained no matter what he did.
Vincent took only the extra time to grab a book from the bag before they headed out. The ride to the office was uneventful. Vincent wondered if life with Hanzo would always be this routine. Perhaps for awhile, until whatever related to his father was dealt with and Hanzo was far less bogged down.
But from the look of his apartment, perhaps not. Hardly came home James said. He tried to keep the low thoughts out his head. These things took time. And he'd come into Hanzo's life at a rough moment. Patience.
"Maybe we can go to the park this weekend?" he suggested warmly as they rode the elevator up to the office. The weather was turning a little chilly as fall settled in, would be nice to get some time outdoors while they could.
Sorry for the delay! Got caught up in a new muse lol
its ok C:
The elevator doors opened and Vincent followed Hanzo to his office, passing many curious eyes as the morning shift had yet to see the boss's new pet. He stuck close and then settled down on the couch quietly to wait for James to bring breakfast and keep out of Hanzo's way while he got his morning set up.

He headed for the door, knocking gently to announce his presence. "Morning Hanzo, morning Vincent! Here's your paperwork for the morning, Hanzo. Should I bring in some breakfast?"
"Please," Hanzo said, taking the folders and starting to sort through them.
"Coffee or tea?"
"Tea, please. And whatever Vincent wants."
James nodded and turned to Vincent. "Coffee or tea? And do you want hot breakfast or cold?" He took the other set of folders that Hanzo passed him from his briefcase without even turning to look.
no subject
"Hot please" he replied, tail fluttering again but before James went he got up and asked, "Can you check Master Hanzo's schedule for the weekend? I was hoping we could go to the park together if he's not busy." he said.

Hanzo sighed and sat back in his chair. He watched James move for a few moments, then picked up one of the file folders. "Did you sleep well?" he asked, glancing up at Vincent.
Really, he still wasn't quite sure what to think about Vincent. The deer was not as bad as he could have been - Vincent seemed intelligent, and interested in being unobtrusive, but also was seeking his attention. Which was probably normal. Pets were designed to want their owner's attention and affection, right?
It was really too bad that Hanzo was not an overtly affectionate man. He was not given to bold statements or acts of emotion, either. Perhaps in time, it would become simply cruel to keep Vincent and not give him what he needed. But he seemed to like James, and James liked him in return, so possibly that could fill some of Vincent's needs.

"Better than I have in awhile actually." he admitted. "Its nice to sleep beside someone again."
At the facility you only could only curl up with others of your kin, so that in the event you went into heat you didn't mix breeds. There were no other deer.
He got up off the couch and came over to Hanzo, checking out what was on his desk, but most of what he could glance at was way over his head. He sat down on the floor beside the desk, out of the way of having his fingers or tail run over by the chair, but closer to Hanzo.

He watched Vincent come over - perched so perfectly on delicate-looking hooves, he moved near-on silently. Green eyes swept over his desk just once, and then Vincent sat, tucking his legs up neatly to fold into a compact, unobtrusive shape.
Hanzo sighed, then slowly reached out - gently - and touched the top of Vincent's head with his fingers. His hair was soft, but Hanzo found himself seeking the antlers - little velvet-covered nubs, a few shades lighter than his hair, and incredibly soft. "Will these get much bigger?" he asked, stroking aside a few locks of hair to get a better view of the antlers and where they melded into his scalp. He was gentle, his touch feather-light, like he was trying to look without touching.

The stubs were only a couple finger-joints long. His ears shifted back a little at the question. Undoubtedly the gross man who had bought him believed his antlers would become a rack worthy of a company giant like Hanzo.
"Not this year. Maybe another inch or so but I doubt they'll be long enough to get even a nub of a prong." He replied. "Comes with living in a facility for so long. The stress and all. Next year's will be better." He hoped. Good food and company did wonders but...it had been so long since he'd had that perhaps they'd be stunted for the rest of his life.

Burying his hand in Vincent's hair was strangely calming. It had been so long since he had been around Pets that he forgot the effect they could have on people.
He looked up when James came in carrying a tray laden down, but didn't remove his hand from Vincent's head.

The gentle scrape of the other's nails against his scalp and the massaging through his hair and around his antlers felt amazing. Vincent hoped it would never end. Or, at the very least, become something regular.
"Larger does mean you'll be taken more seriously, that you're in good health...If multiple deer pets are kept we'll likely fight to win the right to mate..." Though apart from breeding farms, that last one was rare.
His ears perked when James came in but he didn't move from his spot. He wanted this to last as long as possible, even if that meant postponing or even skipping breakfast.
no subject
James started sorting out plates - one for Hanzo and one for Vincent, then filled a cup with hot water for Hanzo and poured Vincent a mug of coffee.
Hanzo pulled his hand away to pick out his breakfast, but it was rather reluctantly. He had work to do today, he couldn't get distracted with petting Vincent. Food and then down to R&D, lunch, nap, then more paperwork.
no subject
He got up and went over to the coffee table to have some breakfast, thinking about breakfasts he could prepare in advance while they were at home so that James didn't have to do this all the time.
After his breakfast burrito he settled on the couch with his mug of hot coffee and the book he'd brought.

Hanzo glanced up then nodded. "Please."
"Sure!" James grinned at Vincent then headed out again, dropping into his chair.
Hanzo finished the last of his tea, then got up, gathering a few files into his arm. "Are you coming downstairs with me?" He asked Vincent, not upset if he wanted to stay behind.
no subject
He looked up from his book when Hanzo spoke. He could go with him?
He was up in a flash, setting book and empty coffee mug down and was at his master's side in an instant. His tail fluttered happily as he followed Hanzo out.
