The Body Heat Meme



Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[keith liked to keep his lion stocked with all the necessities he'd need to survive if he got stranded from the team for a long period of time. so of course he had food, water, clothes, a blanket, and a pillow. he, however, was not counting on getting stranded with lance inside his lion. so of course he did not have the necessities to lend out to lance. well-- okay they'd be fine with food and water. the clothing he had was pushing it a little, but it was doable. but he only had one blanket.

and of course, to preserve the lion's power, he shut it down meaning that it wasn't keeping a decent temperature inside itself. this wouldn't have sucked if they weren't stranded on a planet that was ten billion miles away from the sun. with a sigh he wanders over to lance and offers him some of the blanket.] I only had the foresight to keep one of these in my lion, so we're going to have to share this if you want to survive.

[ lance on the other hand... never really considered having backups on his lion. he never really thought he'd be in this sort of situation, but seeing how prepared keith was, he felt a little silly for never have considering it. maybe he'd consider stocking his lion up... once they got out of this predicament at least.

as comfy as his clothes were, the lack of heat was definitely starting to affect him, as he gave a slight shiver. hearing keith approaching, he looked up to him, nose scrunching slightly as he listened to what the other paladin had to say. ]

... well aren't you the thoughtful one. [ ok ok he needs to be more serious. serious situation after all! sighing, he continues ] As long as it keeps us warm enough until the others come get us.

The only thing that's stopping me from keeping this blanket to myself is that we need you to form Voltron. [it also doesn't help that he's.... kind of gotten attached to lance's.... lanceisms. but is he going to say that out loud? hell no.] It should hold until they pick us up though.

... veeeery thoughtful. [ and he's gotten attached to keith's keithisms!!! it's a mutual feeling! oh no ] Good, cause that's all I care about. [ he pauses a for moment ] ... you did send them a distress signal right. Like... we're not sitting here in a freezing lion robot with them not know we're stranded?

Of course I did. [he scoffs.] Who do you take me for, yourself? [and with that he sits down right next to lance. his knee bumping against the other ever so softly as he does.]

[ he makes a face at that reply ] Excuse you, but for your information calling for help would have been the first thing I would have done!

[ he soon pouts, jerking his knee away instantly after they bump. he's... surprisingly feeling less cold now that keith is next to him... but he's def not going to say anything about it. nope. his arms cross as he sulks a bit, before he speaks again ] Well, are you going to share it or not?

Well that's good to know, we won't be doomed if I'm ever marooned in some cold place with you. And I am sharing it. [the blanket is just... rather tiny. it's only made for one person yo.]

Yeah, well I hope that never happens! [ YOU'RE BARELY SHARING IT THO KEITH ] And you call that sharing?! The blanket is barely on me!

For once I actually agree with you. [he frowns and looks down at the blanket. that is covering both of them. equally.] Yeah, well it's barely on me as well.

... I don't think this sharing thing is going to work.

Don't be ridiculous. We just... need to get closer for it to wrap around us comfortably.

... exactly how close are we talking about?

If this isn't good enough to share the blanket between us, then one of us is going to have to sit in the other's lap or something.

Whoa whoa whoa, that's where I cross the line. "Sit in the other's lap"? Are you even listening to yourself?!

Then don't complain about how cold you are.

"Lance, if you want me to fix this generator so we can have real heat, I am going to need you to keep me from freezing while I do it." Pidge said, after the blanket slipped off their shoulders for the umpteenth time. "Of course if you want us both to freeze while we wait for the others... we can do that too."

aaa yes!!! perfectly okay!!

A groan left Lance as he struggled to reapply the blanket over them. "Of course I don't want us to freeze! It's just waaay too cold to even think properly!" He continued to fumble with the blanket, attempting to at least cover them both evenly. "Besides, this would be a lot easier if this blanket were bigger!"

"I don't disagree with you about the size of the blanket..." Pidge said, trying to find the right connector for the generator. "Listen, why don't you just... lay against me, and then cover me, that might work."

He paused, glancing towards the other with a rather... dumbfounded look. "... uh. Yeah I guess that'll work... I mean... as long as you're okay with me being in your personal space and all while you work..."

"If my choices are have you in my space, or keep freezing because the blanket won't stay on, I'd rather you in my space. Just... try to keep your hands in one spot, okay?" Pidge said, looking over their shoulder at Lance, and giving a slight smirk. "Besides, at least then you can be useful."

He's surprised at that, considering how many times Pidge has given Hunk an earful for constantly trying to touch their stuff. Of course, he isn't Hunk, and hasn't really rummaged through the other's stuff before (not that he's ever been interested; tech stuff like that was not his thing), so he figured that was why Pidge was being so lenient about sharing space.

Then again, not freezing was certainly a better situation.

At the useful comment, Lance made a face. "Hey! I'm useful in other ways too, ya know!" He soon took hold of the blanket before scooting behind Pidge. Once in place, he (awkwardly) draped himself and the blanket over them, shifting a bit until they were both covered.

"How much longer, by the way? You've been working at that thing for a while now."

"I was teasing Lance." Pidge said, reaching back to give him a pat, "I know you are good at other things... but it's fun to tease you." They pointed out. Then it was back to focusing on fixing the dang generator. "Hopefully soon, this thing is just really picky, if I do certain things even just a little off, it won't work... part of why not shivering will help."

Blinking, Lance gave a slight grumble as Pidge gave him the pat. "Gee, thanks."

He watched as Pidge focused on the generator, already tired of trying to figure out what exactly the other was tinkering with the try and get it fixed. He nodded at their next comment, securing his grip on the blanket a bit before responding. "Yeah. Leave it to me. I'll make sure we're both warm and toasty!"

"Let no one say that when you decide on a course of action you leave it unfinished." Pidge said, before giving him a slight grin. "At this rate we may be up and running, and with heat, sooner rather than later."
