[Matt follows Tony's movements. They could be at this for hours. Days. They're both too stubborn to give an inch, but Matt can hear Tony's sincerity. He has to appreciate Tony's genuine desire to give back to the people. Even if it took a while.

Cue a sigh as Matt sits back.
]

Talk me through one of them. How we're going to do so much for this city. How?

[He hears, and understands exactly what that sigh is about, and had prepared himself for another rejection - the kind he was really struggling to accept, but apparently this, this right here was a golden opportunity.

It has him stopping in his tracks, turning to look across at Matthew before he slides back down into his seat across the table.]

Renewable energy, for a start. I was working on something before--

[Before New York was almost blown off the map.]

[Matt fills in the blanks after Tony pauses. It's a pretty safe bet that when people talk about before, they mean before the aliens. In Tony's case, it could also mean before dropping cities from skies or UN accords, but. Matt's going to guess the first.]

Okay, renewable energy. What does that look like on a city-wide scale? Does it just affect Manhattan, or are we talking the boroughs, too? How will this change the housing market, will prices go up, will tenants on low income reap the same benefits as everyone else?

[Matt fascinates him.

The moment that he asks those questions - the whole world opens up to him. He doesn't know the answer to any of those questions though, which is entirely the reason why he pauses.]

Housing Market?

[Oh, Tony. Matt knew none of this had crossed Tony's mind. Why would it, really. He leans his head back a bit to grin, letting out an amused snort.]

Housing market. As in the world of real estate, as in what would the value of properties be for areas that were on a clean energy grin versus what we have now? The demand would go up, prices would probably inflate. There are a lot of people who can't afford housing where it stands now.

[He's quick to pinch his nose, letting out a heavy sigh as he casts his gaze toward the ceiling.]

So, the houses that we provide electricity to are going to increase in worth?

[He's quick to sit back down next to Matt, looking over at him - this oracle of knowledge.]

Then we provide to everyone at once.
