Welcome to the high seas and the Caribbean, in the Golden Age of Sail—and Piracy! Hoist anchors and set sail, because there’s adventure—and treasure—on the horizon.


Roles:
Piracy
A. Ship captain, of course, would you be found anywhere else? Command and the sea, those are your callings. Along with, of course, plunder.
B. Quartermaster, elected representative of the crew’s interests, and with power to veto the Captain’s decisions whenever the ship is not engaged in battle.
C. Crew. You’re in it for the plunder, and can’t be bothered with those pesky decisions. Unless, just maybe, you’ve got a mutiny in mind.
D. Cabin boy. Lowest in rank and newest on the ship, without any sailing experience of your own, but you’ll work your way up.

The Law
E. Pirate-hunter. Maybe you’re working freelance, taking bounties where you find them, or maybe you are an officer of a royal navy, but either way, you’re tasked with bringing those lawless pirates to justice. There’s money in it, and glory for you.
F. Governor. You are the law, in your little corner of the Caribbean. Troops from the homeland, money and resources are yours, but anarchy is just one mistake away, and the pirates are always threatening your ships and those of your traders.
G. Honest sailor. You follow orders and don’t ask too many questions about them. Or the cargo.

Land-Lubbers
H. Innkeeper or Brothel Madam. When the pirates and sailors come into town, they’re going to need food, drink, and companionship. You’re here to provide that.
I. Shipwright. Ships and repairs, it’s all your business. You’re willing to serve any customer, and you don’t ask too many questions.

J. Wildcard! Who would your character be in the Golden Age of Sail?

Mix and match, pirates and pirate hunters, raid a ship or follow a map to treasure. Go get that horizon!

Bull put a lot of trust in his crew. The Iron Charger was his, his crew was his, and really, they should have known better. But then, it was a few of the men who had only recently joined and Krem was already on his way over. His first mate shoved his shoulder against one man, "What's going on here?" He scattered the offending crewmen, revealing the hunched figure of one of the people who had been on the captured ship.

"We weren't doing anything," one of the men stammered - he had a rather coarse Fereldan accent, his name was Jimes - and stepped back. He glanced to Bull the same second that Krem did. In contrast to Krem's rather disgusted look, his disappointment in their crewman, Jimes looked afraid.

"Sure didn't look like nothing," Krem said. His hand was at the sword at his belt.

"Go help with the loot," Bull finally told Jimes, stepping down from where he'd been supervising the treatment of the injured and the disposal of the dead - three of his own gone, and the crew was worse for it, being left with men like Jimes.

"Yes, captain," Jimes said, and he and his cohorts scuttled off, making their unsteady way to the other ship where inventory was being taken of their prize.

"Krem..."

"Yes, Boss?" Krem looked up, then glanced back down at the person beside him. Long white hair, smudged with ash, fine clothes, a bit rumpled from rough treatment.

"Go help with the loot, I've got it from here." Bull stepped down to the main deck and Krem nodded before heading off to the other ship as well. Bull stopped in front of his prisoner and sighed. "You alright?" he finally asked, keeping a distance of a few steps.

[Quartermaster option:

Right-hand man and son to Raven Darkholme, captain of the massive Cold Grey. Formerly known as the Brimstone, the ship was renamed after the mysterious disappearance of its former captain Azazel. Kurt and his mother are a force to be reckoned with in public, though rumors abound of violent arguments over Raven's brutal treatment of prisoners and her lack of compunction about bilking the less fortunate.

Captain option:

One final argument led to Kurt striking out on his own in the X-Calibre, a smaller ship that suffers none in deadliness or speed compared to the Cold Grey. Originally accompanied by a woman named Damask (of whom it's rumored the final argument centered around) as his quartermaster, after her own mysterious disappearance Kurt Darkholme stands in both roles. Though his treatment of prisoners is more humane and his code of honor existent, he is no less a vicious terror on the seas.

She could not help it if she got restless and now, with the prospect of some action got excited enough to forget her manners. No one that knew her would call her a lady and those that did not know her often took her for a young man as she dressed in male clothing.]
