I Need You.

"I Need You."
Maybe it's desperation. Maybe it's just the right time. Maybe you're in the heat of the moment, body-to-body, and you don't even think about it. Maybe you're scared, or angry, or maybe you're so overcome with love that you can't help but say it. Whatever the reason, you've found yourself with someone important: your partner, your family, your rival, your lover, the person of your dreams--and the words have fallen from your lips.
"I need you."
How do they react? How do you react if they've said it to you?
HOW TO PLAY
→ Post with your character! Put their name and canon in the header, and any preferences you might have!
→Tag other people! Either your character is saying they need the other person, or they just heard that character say the words!
→Have fun!! (don't be a dick)

... Would you wait for me, if I wanted you?

Suddenly the leaning, the mumbling, and everything else that stood out as odd were coming together to make a cohesive answer, and it was a flustering one. ]
Me?

[makishima doesn't lift his head. he's not sure he can take looking at toudou and he knows it's only a matter of time until he turns around and makes him look.]
no subject
You have to pick up my calls and keep in contact. I can't wait for someone I can't talk to.

[ Now he's turning. Makishima's solace is gone, but he's releasing his wrist finally. He wants to be able to see him, even if he's still there between him and the railing. Getting to look at him was suddenly more interesting than the stars. ]
no subject
[he even looks at toudou's face once he's turned, instead of looking away.]
no subject
[ For insurance, he was lifting his hands and placing them on Makishima's arms. If he tried to leave, he wasn't going to go far. It was a good sign that he didn't ditch when he turned around, and that he was looking at him.
He wished this wasn't their last night. ]
no subject
[he says it as unmotivatedly as possible, to stifle the way the words barely want to squeeze out of his throat.]
no subject
[ They're already this far. Makishima already asked him to wait for him. If he wants a proper answer from the self-proclaimed Sleeping Beauty, he now as his terms. Toudou's not expecting something out of this world. He knows how Makishima is and just want to hear him talk about his feelings in anyway.
He himself could talk at length about ant emotion prompted to him, but Makishima wasn't like that. Getting to hear them was a privilege he gets rarely. ]

[he leans forward, pressing his forehead against toudou's, and closes his eyes.]
... I wanted to be here. [with you, is left unsaid between them.]
no subject
[ Being this close to him made him feel warm. His heart was beating like they were racing, but they weren't even moving. ]
You're going to kiss me without saying it, aren't you?
no subject
[with toudou this close, it's harder to see him, and makishima can be a little more teasing.]
no subject
[ Making a threat like this when you're this close doesn't make sense to normal people, but he mean it. ]
no subject
What if I just don't kiss you?
no subject
Then I guess I won't wait in that case. There are plenty of people falling over themselves to be with me, you know.
[ But he want's this. He doesn't want something else. It's not something he's actively thought about, but Makishima was his perfect other in every other area, why couldn't he be the one for this too? ]
no subject
[makishima has certainly thought about it. the number of people he would be comfortable revealing every guarded piece of himself to is down to a single person, and makishima just told him he loves him.]
no subject
[ He's almost pouting. Makishima was being mean, as usual. ]

... I love the you on the course, pushing himself to the limit because he loves what he's doing. And the you that calls me eighteen times a day to make sure I'm taking care of myself. And the you that does everything he can to maximize how beautiful he is, even though you don't need it and you never have.... [his voice quiets.] ... And the you that wants me.
... There isn't much that gets me excited. Racing is fun, and I'm good at it, but it's at its height when it's a race against you. I'm at my best... when it's you.
[he means it on and off the course. he raises his hand, brushing fingertips against toudou's cheek.]
I love that you accept the things you don't like about me... and that you like some of the things no one else does. I don't hold back the same way as I do with others... because you don't judge me for it. Not really.

[ This was the last night, but he knew now. It was just like him to wait until the last moment to come out with something truly amazing. This is what always made his heart flutter in his chest.
Leaning forward, he closed the distance in a kiss. He did tell him that he couldn't until he said it, and he finally did. It was a better, and more acceptable answer than what Toudou would have said if left to speak. ]

[to avoid talking, and to make the most of their first kiss, makishima keeps it going until he needs to stop to catch his breath. he stays there with his eyes closed, forehead against his rival's, existing quietly in the moment that he knows will not last long.
[toudou never can keep quiet for long.]
no subject
...
[ He opened his mouth and then closed it, breathing out and raising his hands to encompass Makishima in a hug. ]
Why did you wait until now for all of this? Isn't that a little dramatic even for us?
no subject
[the climax of tension, the final moments, are always the ones that burn brightest in his mind. this is just like that; only the peak they've reached reveals a thousand more ahead of them this time.
[makishima makes a point to bury his face in toudou's shoulder, just at the base of his neck. he just wants to breathe him in, memorize him, for the journey to come.]
no subject
Don't leave me in the dark of your feelings, Maki-chan. I'd love you no matter what, but knowing you care before you leave means a lot to me.
[ No one could deny Toudou's obvious feelings. The way he spoke about him and the frequency. Passing it as the feeling of rivalry didn't work on anyone that had ever heard him speak about Makishima.]
