I Need You.

"I Need You."
Maybe it's desperation. Maybe it's just the right time. Maybe you're in the heat of the moment, body-to-body, and you don't even think about it. Maybe you're scared, or angry, or maybe you're so overcome with love that you can't help but say it. Whatever the reason, you've found yourself with someone important: your partner, your family, your rival, your lover, the person of your dreams--and the words have fallen from your lips.
"I need you."
How do they react? How do you react if they've said it to you?
HOW TO PLAY
→ Post with your character! Put their name and canon in the header, and any preferences you might have!
→Tag other people! Either your character is saying they need the other person, or they just heard that character say the words!
→Have fun!! (don't be a dick)

Then I guess I won't wait in that case. There are plenty of people falling over themselves to be with me, you know.
[ But he want's this. He doesn't want something else. It's not something he's actively thought about, but Makishima was his perfect other in every other area, why couldn't he be the one for this too? ]

[makishima has certainly thought about it. the number of people he would be comfortable revealing every guarded piece of himself to is down to a single person, and makishima just told him he loves him.]

[ He's almost pouting. Makishima was being mean, as usual. ]

... I love the you on the course, pushing himself to the limit because he loves what he's doing. And the you that calls me eighteen times a day to make sure I'm taking care of myself. And the you that does everything he can to maximize how beautiful he is, even though you don't need it and you never have.... [his voice quiets.] ... And the you that wants me.
... There isn't much that gets me excited. Racing is fun, and I'm good at it, but it's at its height when it's a race against you. I'm at my best... when it's you.
[he means it on and off the course. he raises his hand, brushing fingertips against toudou's cheek.]
I love that you accept the things you don't like about me... and that you like some of the things no one else does. I don't hold back the same way as I do with others... because you don't judge me for it. Not really.

[ This was the last night, but he knew now. It was just like him to wait until the last moment to come out with something truly amazing. This is what always made his heart flutter in his chest.
Leaning forward, he closed the distance in a kiss. He did tell him that he couldn't until he said it, and he finally did. It was a better, and more acceptable answer than what Toudou would have said if left to speak. ]

[to avoid talking, and to make the most of their first kiss, makishima keeps it going until he needs to stop to catch his breath. he stays there with his eyes closed, forehead against his rival's, existing quietly in the moment that he knows will not last long.
[toudou never can keep quiet for long.]

...
[ He opened his mouth and then closed it, breathing out and raising his hands to encompass Makishima in a hug. ]
Why did you wait until now for all of this? Isn't that a little dramatic even for us?

[the climax of tension, the final moments, are always the ones that burn brightest in his mind. this is just like that; only the peak they've reached reveals a thousand more ahead of them this time.
[makishima makes a point to bury his face in toudou's shoulder, just at the base of his neck. he just wants to breathe him in, memorize him, for the journey to come.]

Don't leave me in the dark of your feelings, Maki-chan. I'd love you no matter what, but knowing you care before you leave means a lot to me.
[ No one could deny Toudou's obvious feelings. The way he spoke about him and the frequency. Passing it as the feeling of rivalry didn't work on anyone that had ever heard him speak about Makishima.]
