[ So this is -- technically speaking, their first date. It's a week before Natasha and Clint's wedding, and in the midst of the hustle and bustle they've found some time with each other. Steve invites James to his apartment and spends the whole afternoon preparing dinner with butterflies in his stomach and a song in his heart, paying careful attention to the lavish creme brulee he'd made in Bucky's honor, and the prime cuts of filet mignon with pumpkin and potato, all thoughtfully made.

It was a lovely dinner, one that he knows they both enjoyed; it's lively with conversation and laughter, and Steve connected with him the way he never had with anyone, touching on a wide range of topics and drawing ever closer when he realized just how similar they were, how much Steve agrees with him. It flows easily, and even moreso with wine in the mix, flirtations and warm words. He's basking in James' presence, and he can't remember a time when he had been so happy and contented.

It's over quickly enough, and soon they're settled on the couch with popcorn and a set of DVDs Steve's actually bought for this moment, uncertain of just where Bucky's movie tastes ran. ] I'm not sure if you're a sci-fi or horror fan, but I bought a mix of both.

[ Johnny loves sharing things with Jack. He loves letting Jack have a taste of what he has, whether it's his fries drenched in ranch sauce, peppery eggs, or ice cream sundae, but most of all, Johnny loves sharing his favorite movies with Jack. There is everything profoundly intimate about spending that kind of time with your lover, and as much as Johnny loves going out to party, he loves this, too.

Private moments spent with Jack in the privacy of their new apartment -- he's just grateful that unlike the Drabwurld, they're gifted with the marvel of modern plumbing and even more modern entertainment.

He's also just about subjected Jack to three hours worth of epic Japanese horror movie flicks -- they'd just powered through the original Ring 1, and 2, and are in the middle of the terrifying and nerve-wrecking Ju-On series. Johnny leans in close, his arm around his beloved as he presses a soft kiss to the side of his head.

Meanwhile, he absently notes the horrific scene of the female ghost staring down at the woman from her perch above her bed while the creepy little ghost boy shrieks at her. ]

Imagine if we got hit by something like that in our spire.
