That's right, it's a movie night! [They would point out the unintentional pun, but that was just sad. Not even a funny bad joke, just sad. Worse than Snowdrake, even.]

But it'd be super cold. And slippery. And melt when people touch it.

We wouldn't be cold! We're all covered in fur, and you'd be wearing the nice sweater you knitted. This will be a special kind of ice where we won't slip, and with magic, it'll never melt! We could do all the things Elsa and Anna did at the beginning of the movie! ...Not the smacking on the head and freezing the heart thing, though.

Okay, but why? We already have a big stone castle to live in. And it's not cold for people without fur or jackets.

Hey, that's a good idea! I should draw it as soon as the movie's over. Oh! Oh, I can draw my character in an icy outfit similar to Elsa's! He's going to look so cool! [There you go with the unintentional puns again, Asriel. Currently, the movie is at the part where Kristoff and Anna are being chased by a pack of wolves, and Kristoff is explaining to Anna why wanting to marry someone you've just met is a bad idea.] Kristoff reminds me a lot of you too. This sounds like just the kind of thing you'd talk to me about! Even the part with the nose-picking, ew. [He giggles anyway.] He doesn't like humans either...

[The mental image of his OC in a sparkly ice dress is absolutely ridiculous, and they have to keep themself from grinning.]

He has every reason to. Just look at the weasel guy.

Haha! Yeah, I gotta admit, the duke isn't my favorite. Kristoff is so lucky to be raised by the trolls! I guess he's had a hard life if he dislikes humans so much. I wonder if he had to protect the trolls from people wanting to hunt them down...

[They... actually forgot about the trolls thing. Raised by monsters and mostly isolated from humans- isn't that the way they are now? Maybe Frozen is a bit better than they thought solely because of Kristoff, but they're not going to tell Asriel that. No way. He already loves it too much for his own good.]

Maybe. I wonder what he did to protect them.

What any Disney hero would do to protect their loved ones, of course! [Good thing you didn't think too hard about that, Asriel. Oh look, it's Olaf!]

Yay, Olaf! He wants to see summer as much as I want to go to the surface. I know you usually hate Disney sidekicks, but this one has a lot of dark humor around him. I'm glad I'm not a snowman! [Yeah, no one to take pieces of you to eat before your eyes until you're nothing but a puddle, but shh.]

[And now he's singing about summertime... that bright sky reminds them of how everyone is trapped down here and instantly they feel kinda bitter towards that dinky snowman.]

I hope he melts.

[Asriel laughs light-heartedly.] I knew you'd say that.

There's so many movies that take place up on the surface... are there that many places like those up there, Chara? All those buildings and snow and desert and jungles? I'd love to travel them with you one day.

There's a lot, but the world is a lot bigger than you think. They're all very far away. I'm not sure if I could take you to see them all in person.

Well, I think as long as I get to see the sky and the stars, I'll be happy. As long as you're with me, Chara.

[Anna meets Elsa at her ice castle, telling her about the current state of Arendelle and that she was needed to lift the winter. No matter how much Anna believes in her and tells her she loves her, Elsa remains convinced she's dangerous and should be locked away. Asriel watches the whole scene in silence. Something about this part troubles him, and it's not because Elsa freezes Anna's heart.]

[Some time during that scene, they grasped the locket around their neck.

It's very familiar. They know exactly how she feels, but worse.

Their childhood was shitty. They never wanted to stay around Asriel, someone so golden-hearted and sweet, with someone like them. The child nobody wanted. The one kept in the basement, tied to the bed, screaming and snarling- the one their parents liked to forget they had.

It reminds them too much of who they are and what they can't have, can't keep. To think not too long ago we just had a singing snowman.

And now, she's isolating herself even further, full of regret as she pushes Anna away.]

Oh Chara. ;; Let Asriel love you!

[Neither of them say anything for a long time. Eventually, the movie gets to the part with trolls, and Asriel cheers up. He even starts singing along half-way, though his singing is... while not bad, still average.]

We aren't saying you can change him

We're only saying that love's a force that's powerful and strange
People make bad choices if they're mad or scared or stressed
But throw a little love their way, and you'll bring out their best

[Oh hey, Asriel discovered the theme of Undertale and he doesn't even know it.]

[Just as Elsa's act did, this song digs into them. It's... this movie is awfully remniscient of their own situation, if tied off with a fairytale ending, which they know their life definitely won't end in- not in the way they were raised, not the way they plan.

Their situation isn't good. But for now, it's okay.

Chara takes Asriel's paw in their hand, and just holds it. Platonic hand holding. And also a little bit of messing with his teeny weeny toe beans, because who can resist toe beans? Toe beans.

Then they do something they haven't done for a while.

They smile. Genuinely. It isn't much, just a gentle upwards lilt of the mouth, but it's there.]

[Asriel smiles and squeezes their hand in return, giggling as Chara plays a little with their toe-beans. It tickles!]

...I'm so glad you're watching this with me, Chara.

Me, too.

[Chara leans into Asriel, een though they're taller than he is, putting their head on his shoulder. The trolls have dressed up Anna and Kristoff, and he looks ridiculous. Guess they like making fun of him, even when they think hes gonna marry.]

[They sit together like this for a while, and Asriel is in heaven. If he could pause that moment of his life and play it over and over again, he would. When Kristoff brings Anna to the castle, it takes all his willpower not to spoil it and assure Chara that Kristoff and Anna will be together, or at least agree to date to see where their relationship goes. The big reveal with Hans, the handsome prince everybody expected to be the "true love"... it was like Chara wrote this movie. When he thought about it that way, Asriel loved Frozen even more.]

[BAD PLOT TWIST? THEY LOVE BAD PLOT TWISTS. Especially when it's not a diabolus ex machina. Maybe they didn't give as much credit to Frozen as it deserved- sure, it fit into the prince/princess cliché, but it was pulled off pretty nice. And Asriel loves this movie, so that makes it better. Plus, they knew that whole "true love" thing was too easy. Hans is evil. This is great. And now he tells everyone Anna is dead and they're gonna go hunting for Elsa. THINGS ARE GETTING REAL, ASRIEL.]

[And look at that! Olaf's not so useless after all! Oh god, that line... "Some people are worth melting for." He squeezes Chara's hand tight at that. Of course he'd melt for Chara.]

[Asriel laughs again. Boy, they're at the best part of the movie now! Even though he's watched it a million times before Chara fell down, this is so intense!]
