No good movie is too long and no bad movie is short enough.

Movie Night Meme
Hello, darlings! I hope you're ready for some sizzling romance, swashbuckling adventure, tragic love, and mysterious happenings, because all those and more are on the schedule for tonight! That's right, it's a movie night! Whether you're settling in or going out, watching one or going the distance with an all-night marathon, it's time to enjoy the best (and worst) Hollywood has to offer! Grab a friend, grab five, grab the popcorn, and settle in!
Post with your characters, preferred genres, if you're open to fourth-walling or threadjacking, and have fun!!
►►Prompts:
1. First date At least you don't have to talk during the movie, right??
2. Netflix and chill Invite someone over for a low-key night of movies in your pjs.
3. Go the distance You're not a true fan until you've marathoned all fourteen movies in a row. Extended editions, obvs.
4. Your movie sucks Seriously? How could they have picked this movie? It's awful. Just awful.
5. Your face sucks How could they hate this masterpiece?? Clearly they don't understand the subtext!!
6. Yawn and stretch Clearly the movie is just an excuse to get a little closer to one another. Or is it?
7. Dub it up This movie could be massively improved with better dialogue. Improv your little hearts out.
8. Wildcard Choose your own endings, darlings!

Jack does not scare easily. Most of his fears have always been rooted in himself, in his own insecurities and what he has to lose. Once it was a crown, but these days it's Johnny. He doesn't even know what he would become without this man beside him. That thought, the very possibility of it scares him more than creepy dead children.
His eyebrows raise at the question before Jack hums thoughtfully.]
We could've invited that priest, Kirei. Isn't that how these movies always end?
no subject
Johnny's passion for Jack knows no boundaries, and his love for the man could be something people write songs about for many years to come -- in fact, he's probably counting on it. They've earned these moments together, worked through their problems and came out the other side stronger as a unit than they are on their own.
He cuddles up to him, keeping Jack nestled against his side as he peels his eyes from the screen for a moment to look over at him. ]
Maybe the ghost would kill him too. [ Then, curiously. ] Do you think priests of different religions work on vengeful ghosts?
no subject
[He was a priest, but there was some darkness in him too. He thinks it might've taken something a little more than a vengeful spirit to have done him in.]
Probably. [He smiles sweetly over at Johnny.] I'm sure one's as full of shit as the next. If, for whatever reason, one works then I'm sure they all would.
[His disdain for religion continues, even when it's not his own. But he does lean over to press a kiss against Johnny's cheek.]
If we wake up tonight and there's a monochrome woman and child standing over our bed, I'll handle it.

[ Johnny frowns. It's not anything specific -- it's just that something about the man doesn't sit well with Johnny; like an itch he can't quite scratch, an unsettling feeling in the back of his mind that he can't put a finger on. Jack likes him, and Johnny's always refrained from saying anything much against the man. Jack's avid dislike for religion isn't new, but he smiles faintly at it anyway. It's scarred his lover far too much for him to be anything but hostile towards it, and Johnny doesn't fault him for that.
He settles for accepting kisses, smiling and squeezing his fingers when one of his other favorite scenes come: the man checking out the bathroom and being claimed by the ghost, and the shadow of it creeping along the wall towards the closed-circuit camera that's observing it.
He presses close when the edges of the camera turn dark, then completely black with only the eyes visible, staring right at them, and he grins to kiss him, quietly thrilled. ] Look at that, babe. Tell me that wasn't awesome.
no subject
[But then Jack should've disliked him. He had plenty of reasons to do so, and yet...
Jack continues watching, comfortably resting against both the couch and Johnny. His lover's excited by the movie, he can practically sense the rush of blood through his veins, and that makes it more interesting to Jack than it normally would be. He does like the darkness of it. It's amusing in its own way, and the final scene actually makes him smile.]
I didn't fall asleep, so it must not have been too bad. [He leans away from Johnny, but only so he can turn out the light and throw the room into darkness.] Is there a sequel? There's always a sequel.
no subject
The darkness of the room now makes it more creepy, and he loves it. ]
So, what did you like about it, huh? [ He imitates the death rattling, before laughing softly. ] Are you gonna cuddle up to me very closely tonight?
no subject
[Jack smiles at him, resting his hand on Johnny's thigh and spreading his fingers wide. He knows what Johnny's getting out of this, the little adrenaline high that it gives him.]
It's interesting though. In most of your movies, all you have to do is get out of the house. It's simple, almost insulting. But it's different in these. [He looks back at the screen.] It doesn't matter where you go, you're not safe.
no subject
[ Johnny says sweetly, but he knows exactly what he means. He's aware of the hand on his thigh, and he rests his own on his warmly, ducking over to kiss his cheek. ] It's why they're so effective, you know. These movies. They take the most innocent places and twist them.
[ He pauses, openly curious and ready to take notes. ] Do you like them better than the rest of my other movies?
no subject
Your other movies are morality plays. Do something that you're not supposed to do - have sex, for example, and you die. [The virgin always lives, everybody knows that. Jack nods at the screen.] These don't follow that formula. They're more unpredictable. I like that.
[He looks over at Johnny, smiling slowly, wickedly.]
Do you think my soul will blend with Shadow's when I die? Just imagine me meowing.
no subject
Don't say that, you're not going to die. Not ever. [ Not ever. He doesn't care if everyone dies sometime; that's a long time away. ]
no subject
Jack closes his hand over the other man's and brings it to his lips, pressing a soft, apologetic kiss against it.]
Then I'll become a vampire and live forever. Is that the next movie?
no subject
His brows raise, accepting that unspoken apology and nuzzling him in turn. He's sorry he's less fun when death is concerned; he is. He laughs in the face of it often, but it's different when it's Jack. ]
I'll spare you Twilight. What about Interview With The Vampire? You know, what if we both became vampires and lived forever?
no subject
[Jack is made to be a predator, but Johnny would need boundaries. Ways to still be a hero. And they'd both do just fine with a nocturnal lifestyle. Johnny's arm is around his shoulder, and he lifts his hand to lace their fingers together.]
Things that last forever though. You don't think it would dull it?
no subject
But the thing is -- ]
I don't know. All I know is that when I think of the future, all I see is you. And I'm excited about every day of it. [ He pauses, leaning in to bump his nose gently. ] And I guess if things ever get boring, we'll find something else to do. So many things we could do in the world! Maybe finally find the Zodiac Killer.
no subject
I think the Zodiac Killer's probably dead by now. Unless he's a vampire too.
[Now there's fuel for Johnny's imagination, vampire vs. vampire. He grins before he leans in to kiss him.]
I can promise you that my love for you at this moment is immortal.
no subject
Mmm, only at this moment? [ Another kiss, and he's thinking about carrying Jack to the room; also the possibility of vampires vs vampires re: the Zodiac Killer, how cool would that be? Also how awesome would making out with a naked Jack be? ] Babe. What if we became badass immortal vampire hunters?
no subject
[Jack is grinning though, teasing him in his own wicked way. But he follows it with a kiss that makes tomorrow bright, snickering against Johnny's mouth at the suggestion.]
God, that sounds cheesy. Are you sure that's not a movie title?
no subject
[ Johnny is flush with the promise of tomorrow, bright-eyed and warmed by Jack's affection as he loops his arms lightly around him. ] I hope tomorrow brings me you. And the day after that, and that day after.
[ He grins, sweetly pressing his forehead to his. ] And we should have a B-movie marathon night. Find the worst, cheesiest horror movie titles and watch them all.
no subject
[And here's where he crushes all of Johnny's hopes and dreams. Sort of. Johnny rarely lets it go when he really wants something, and Jack is often worn down by his whims.
But this time, there will be no asking every day for two weeks. There will be no condition from Jack. He looks into his lover's eyes before his lips tug up at the corners.]
It sounds like a good night.
[Just lazing around with Johnny, laughing at the horrible movies that he seems to enjoy so much. Dear God, it's almost domestic. But clubs and his "adoring" public never did Jack any favors anyway.]
When should we do it?
no subject
He beams and pulls him into a kiss with a small laugh, tugging him onto his lap and wrapping his arms around him. See, partying might be great and all, but spending precious time with his lover? Laughing with him, watching him cringe and groan and give smart-ass commentary? He'd give up all the clubs in a heartbeat. ] You tell me, Romeo. How about tomorrow night? Or the night after that? You gotta choose a couple of movies of your own, too.
