Just share the damn bed with me.

For whatever reason, the floor is an unacceptable place to sleep. It's messy, the dog is there, THE FLOOR IS LAVA, there's flooding, feels weird, or it's too dirty to walk on. Who cares why it's not acceptable, it just isn't! Normally, that's not an issue, but tonight you have a friend over. Maybe it's the safest place, maybe it's hurricane season and your house is the only one out of the path of the storm. Are they mooching off you? Stop trying to figure out the details! Just get over it and share the bed with that person! Sexy times are not required. Intimacy is not required. Just share the damn bed already.

[Makoto was already putting his feet to the floor when Kisumi spoke, and he paused, glancing over his shoulder, smiling fondly.]

Stay as long as you want. Do you need anything while I'm getting up?

[Kisumi always found Makoto's consideration quite touching and even though they had known each other for a while he still managed to surprise him by his queestion.]

Not really...just hurry up and come back quick.

[He waved with a yawn as he trundled out the door, doing as Kisumi asked and being as quick as possible, considering he needed to brush his teeth for at least two minutes.

Makoto was moderately more awake when he came back, fidgeting from foot to foot before he slipped back under the covers, shyly.]

Was that quick enough?

[Kisumi watched Makoto walking up to the bed lying on his side and supporting his head with his hand.

What a great morning, really.]

That might have been a world record.

[Moving closer, Kisumi poked Makoto's nose with his own, smiling mischievously.]

Definitely worthy of a very long and sweet kiss.

[Their closeness made Makoto's face heat up, his heart pounding wildly in his chest. He was torn between excitement and nervousness, clenching at his shirt anxiously.]

Before we- I haven't really done it before so I'm sorry if it's terrible.

[It was said all in a quick rush, Makoto's gaze darting from Kisumi's face, to the side, then back to Kisumi's mouth.]

[This was truly unexpected on Kisumi's end. There was no way in the world Makoto hadn't kissed before.]

It'll be fine.

[He tried to make it sound as reassuring as possible as he gently brushed his thumb over the other's lips.]

Close your eyes and relax.

[Whether Makoto would do this or not, Kisumi would lean in and give him just a smooch on the cheek.]

[As nervous and jittery as Makoto felt, he did trust Kisumi. When he said it would be fine, Makoto believed him, for better or for worse.

He jolted slightly at Kisumi's thumb across his lips, but obediently he closed his eyes. He had been expecting Kisumi's lips to follow his thumb, and was surprised when he felt them brush against his cheek. Still he kept his eyes screwed shut, unsure if he should open them.]

[Just a little while after the cheek kiss, he tilted his head slightly to have better access to Makoto's ear, and then whispered, his breath warming the other's earlobe:]

Hey, I wouldn't steal your first kiss like that. You can open your eyes.

[His words were followed by a gentle pat on the head.]

[With his eyes closed, it felt like his other senses were heightened, so the feel of Kisumi's breath against his ear set all of his nerves on edge, Makoto tensing in anticipation.

Those words however had Makoto opening one eye slightly, a bit nervous.]

Are you sure? I thought you should have your eyes closed for it.

You really thought that? How adorable can you get, Makoto...

[Really, Kisumi couldn't help but comment on that.]

I mean...unless you want me to steal your first kiss.

[Being called 'adorable' raised conflicting reactions in him, because on one hand he enjoyed praise no matter what the form was, but it also made him want to hide his face. He flushed lightly, ducking his head as if he could avoid Kisumi's gaze.]

It's not stealing if I give it.

[It would almost be smooth if his voice wasn't tinged with nervousness, but baby steps.]

[At that, Kisumi blinked. It wasn't Makoto's reaction that surprised him, but his words more than anything. It was unusual to hear him being so straightforward, after all.]

Should I close my eyes then?

[Take it as a sign of how serious Makoto was about this whole matter, how he didn't want to be misunderstood. He was well aware one of his biggest flaws was how he deflected or never bothered to speak up for himself.

But it was hard to stay focused when he was so nervous, he gaze skittering from Kisumi's face back down to the blankets.]

Is it too weird to?

[Because Kisumi had all the experience here.]

[There's no way he wouldn't notice how serious Makoto was. Actually, as far as Kisumi knew, Makoto was serious about a bunch of things, so it shouldn't be that surprising.

He just never considered that Makoto would be like that around him. Most likely, everyone knew what reputation Kisumi had; he was just too playful, after all.]

No, but I thought it would make things easier for you. If I wasn't looking.

[Maybe Makoto was gullible when it came to his friends, willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for everything, but he couldn't believe Kisumi would be the type to toy with his feelings no matter how playful of a reputation he had.

He also was touched that Kisumi was being so considerate of him, a small shy smile gracing his lips at that.]

If you don't mind...? At least for now.

[It would make him a lot less nervous.]

[Makoto didn't have to wait too long; he closed them right away, almost tingling with excitement. It was unbelievable...maybe he was still dreaming? Even if that was the case, he just hoped that he wouldn't wake up before the kiss.]

How could I mind something like that...

[In the meanwhile he started to wonder what should he do when Makoto would lean in closer. Should he hold him? Or just do nothing?

It might have been the first time Kisumi was giving it so much thought.]

[That it wasn't too odd or off-putting of a request gave Makoto some confidence, a small grateful smile alighting across his face before he closed his eyes too, leaning in a bit. He wasn't quite sure what to do once he felt their foreheads bump together, hands shaking slightly in nervousness as he put his hands on either side of Kisumi's face, light and gentle. He wasn't sure if he should go in all the way, or if he really could without his heart bursting, it thudding loudly in his chest so that it drowned out almost all other noise.]

[With his eyes shut tight, Kisumi waited, feeling like he was losing his composure bit by bit as the time passed. The moment Makoto placed his hands on his cheeks, he leaned into the touch, his smile growing a little. Although it wasn't something new to him, Kisumi was struck by how different they were, even when it came to kissing. By this time, he would be trying to pry open Makoto's mouth to slide his tongue in, most probably.

However, Kisumi didn't mind the change of pace at all as he found the heart thumping excitedly in his chest to be a rather pleasant feeling.]

[Had he waited too long? Was he being odd? Or perhaps Kisumi was being a gentleman and letting him set the pace? Curiously, he opened one eye slightly, taking in Kisumi's serene face, before closing his eye and closing the distance between them, heartened.

His lips brushed against the other boy's gently, hesitantly.]

[It wasn't so easy to get rid of his own habits, but he tried his damned best not to screw that one up. Even with his eyes closed, Kisumi could tell how nervous Makoto was about all this. To soothe him somehow, Kisumi lifted his hand and put it on the nape of his neck and gently caressed him, just like he wanted to give him a push forward.]

[The hand on the back of his neck startled him for a moment, but it did help rally his confidence as he pressed forward, applying more pressure with his lips tentatively, still not sure if he was going about all of this correctly.

He copied Kisumi's lead though, one of his hands sliding toward the back of his neck, toying lightly with the hair that he could reach.]

[Seeing that made Kisumi felt more confident himself; he had never felt so anxious about his every move as he was then. On the other hand, he couldn't just stay still, especially not when Makoto copied him. That made him think whether the other boy would copy everything.

If he didn't give it a try, Kisumi wouldn't be himself. That's why his tongue brushed over Makoto's lower lip, quite curious what would he do.]

[The feeling of something wet against his lower lip startled Makoto for a short moment before he realized it was Kisumi's tongue. He gave a small squeak of surprise, drawing back slightly, mind whirring. It was probably normal, right? Kisumi wouldn't have done it otherwise!

Gathering his resolve, tentatively repeating the gesture to Kisumi. There probably wasn't going to be a lot of finesse and it was going to be a lot quicker.]

[For that one moment when Makoto had pulled away just slightly, Kisumi froze, pretty sure that he overdid it. About to break the kiss completely and apologize to Makoto, he felt Makoto's tongue on his lip all of a sudden.

It was just a reflex that he couldn't help at all—his tongue slipped past his mouth and softly brushed against Makoto's.]

[It was really, really weird but not in a bad way? Makoto leaned in a bit closer, lips parting slightly to be more accommodating to the sensation, a curious warmth starting to build in his stomach.]
