You say that but I can't help thinking it. [ Cupping her glass, she lowers her gaze thoughtfully towards it, lost in her thoughts once again. It wasn't as if she was in love with the man, no, he was just a good friend. After all he did brave the fire and flame to drag her out in the middle of nowhere for a drink.

Shaking her head, she keeps her gaze lowered. ] No, I would just live with regret if I left now. I need to finish what I've started.

So you'll let yourself be miserable instead.

[Waver sighs, and finishes the last of his glass.]

It seems we've reached an impasse then. [ They are two stubborn adults with not nearly enough alcohol in their blood to handle the situation. ]

[ Leaning back a bit, she looks up towards the sky while taking in a deep breath. The air is fresh out here which does help with clearing her mind. ]

I need something away from the Mage Association. To date someone not involved or something. [ That never ends well. ]

You could take a sabbatical.

I can't afford to take one of those. [ Rin and her infinite money problems. ]

They pay you when you take sabbatical, you know. And I'll supplement it, if need be.

It's what a friend should do but at the same time she rather remain close to him. ] May as well just do it together if we're going to be doing it at all.

I'll pay you to take a break and get your head together. That seems like something worth encouraging.

[But together? Waver's felt pretty okay lately.]

[ So he wants her to go on a vacation by herself. Her frown deepens as she considers her options. With the manner it's being approached, it doesn't sound as if she has much say in it. ]

... Somewhere with a beach.

French Riviera? That'd be elegant enough.

[ And far enough from the supernatural that she could appear to live a normal life, so she hopes. ]

I know enough French to get by. [ Funny, she thought they were coming out here with news she would lose her position in the Clock Tower and instead she was being shipped off for a vacation. ]

I can also visit on weekends.

[Waver laughs.]

Good, it'll make me appear as though I'm more popular than I am. [ Smiling down at the table. ]

Yeah, I think a vacation is needed. I never thought to take one but if I'm being forced to...

[Waver nudges her softly with his foot.]

I'll ask Reines if she knows anyone in the area. She has some rich non-magi associates who'd probably be up for a fling.
