Find me someone that specializes in magi, and maybe I'd consider it.

[The idea's been on his mind for a long time, honestly.]

But if we didn't keep a secret, well. [Waver rubs the bridge of his nose.] The witch craze tells us what happens.

Right, we can't forget about that. [ Or how humanity would demand they fix every problem they've let slip by.

If there's one thing Rin's learned during her time in the Clock Tower, it's that magi care only for their agendas and nothing more. If there was an outcry from a group for them to provide a solution to a problem, they would ignore them outright until they got in the way of their research. To which the solution would likely end up being a way to silence the crowd rather than aid them.

That sort of pettiness was a tax she couldn't easily shrug off. ]

I'm surprised no one has tried. Imagine all of the things a trained psychologist could pull out of the mind of several magi. They could easily find the Root without having to put in too much of the work if they roped in the right men and women.

Magi disdain anything modern, remember? [Waver smiles, rueful.] The idea of therapy is too new. Give it another hundred years and maybe someone'll realize they could make a killing finnancially with this.

That's true, isn't it? [ Rin sighs, knowing that once again the problems she suffers from can only be resolved by her own hand. ]

[Waver smiles in resigned agreement.]

Speaking of, you should really start worrying about your legacy.

[ She's still so young and naive, caught up in the policies of the Clock Tower and the Mage Association as a whole. ]

Settling down with someone. Having a child.

I don't know. [ She's in a tight spot with her own feelings so instead of focusing on them, she rather push back. ] Shouldn't you be concerned about that?

Eh. I can always fuss about it later or let Reines take care of it post-mortem.

You're too flippant when it comes to your legacy.

[ She sighs at the remark, not really understanding how someone could be like that in the first place. It was something that was always on her mind, contributing to the stress she never seemed to let go of. ]

Rin, that legacy's going to be written and controlled by Reines, in the end. Not me, not any child of mine. Her. I'm all right with that fact.
