There's a long precedent in folklore and myth of beautiful young people - both men and women - being kidnapped by monsters: dragons, beasts, goblins, demons, elves, vampires, wolves, or even evil humans. In the end, however, these prisoners are almost always rescued and brought back to civilization to live a normal and happy life.

But what if they didn't want to leave their jailor?

They've seen behind the surface and have begun to sympathize with this "monster;" no, more than that, they've fallen for them. Will this story have a happy ending? Will the monster believe that anyone could love them? Most importantly, though, can the two of them be left alone without any attempts at a "rescue?"

how to play

• Comment with your character, your preference, and what role they'll play. Feel free to AU characters to your desire role.
• Reply to others.
• Thread anything that could remotely fit under the umbrella theme. Was the kidnapping just that, or did both parties know (and care) for each other before, making it a collaborative, mutual effort? Perhaps you'd prefer to play the actual Beauty and The Beast-style getting to know each other or seeing behind the grizzly facade. What about an attempted "rescue?" Or maybe you could thread out a scene where the prisoner runs away from the society they were forced back into and returns to their beloved beast! It's all up to you. You could even do smut if you wanted to, but this isn't a smut meme.

[Honestly, they were just joking around. They've known each other for a very long time, after all. There was no real kidnapping going on! But maybe, maybe they overdid it. People took Patchouli and Milly seriously when they did this? Why would they? What was wrong with them?!

There really were all types of people in the world it seemed. Some liked gardening, some liked riding horses, some liked reading... And some evidently liked spreading rumors about their neighbors. True, perhaps it was already a fire waiting to be lit when a vampire lord is living with three rather lovely young-looking women. And it was so easy to spread rumors that they were all the vampire lord's wives and that they kidnapped young humans from other lands as food.

All it took was a rather drunken crowd of rich bachelors to try grabbing one of those women to start a huge misunderstanding. Since they happened to target the eldest of the three, it didn't take more than a few minutes and they found her tongue was just as sharp as her swords. Bridget had used the flat of course and sent the entire group racing off through a massive wild rose thicket with cut belts and broken egos and then went about her business.

But when a bunch of large, young men came racing into town scratched the hell and back without their pants screaming about vampire attacks, well... Things escalated quickly. The first mob was driven away from the castle with tubs of ice-water. The second group were town soldiers demanding the 'seductress' be handed over for justice. (Rumors had really taken a dirty turn by that point.) They were sent away by a very confused but impeccably polite vampire lord who had no idea as to what they were referring to, as his daughters were completely uninterested or too shy to seduce a group of men.

At that point, Bridget was getting a little fed up with the whole issue. All it took was a short flight out to one of the larger towns across the border and a little patience. The poor officer probably didn't know what hit him until they were soaring straight up into the night sky by his (sturdy and unbroken) belt. She was going to find out how a bunch of drunk kids had turned into mobs and armed guards and the arrival of several skeevy-looking 'vampire hunters' even if it meant abducting every man in uniform between her and the ocean!
